I don't think the full magnitude of Snake being cut has hit me yet.

I like many of the characters in Smash Bros., but Snake is a character I adore. And I say that as a casual MGS fan at best. Even though MGS isn't my favorite series, I've always loved Snake himself. The working-stiff attitude, the genuine love for his comrades, the paradoxical blend of a tortured soul and a sense of levity.

And like I said before, I always take the pacifist approach in his games. My Snake is a badass who avoids killing, who uses stealth to achieve his goals in a blood-free fashion. Figuring out how to avoid confrontation or outsmart enemies so you can defeat them without killing them made me view Snake as a real hero. It also feels like the truest interpretation of his character, since war isn't the life he would've chosen, it was the life chosen for him.

Having that real hero in Smash was wonderful. That, along with the tone he brought, wholly unique on the roster, and the brand of humor he brought, also one of a kind. Snake will be missed. Here's hoping he returns as DLC.

Okay, here is a legit answer from me.

Yeah, we did heavily discussed about Smash 4 in the past but I guess it's at the point where we are running out of unique discussions to talking about and the fact that we are extremely close to discover the answers ourselves. I would like to presume that some people are tired of discussing about same topics again.

A new WarioWare character is near the top of my list - personally me preference is Mona, but I'd be good with Jimmy T. or Ashley or 9-Volt or whoever. The "herky-jerky" style that Wario has makes him super fun to play as; it's right up my alley, without being too technical but still feeling unique. Hopefully he can get another rep with that same feel.

I've never actually played much of WarioWare, though; a friend of mine had Smooth Moves, but that's the full extent of my experience with the series. I sort of regret not getting Game & Wario for my Club Nintendo Platinum Reward, now...
 
I'm happy that Lucina's in the game and I'm certainly okay with her being a clone, (really I tend to prefer clones over their originals, Falcon the exception) but I don't know if I'm okay with how she ended up in game. In which, the only difference between her and Marth is the sword attack spread. I want to believe that there are more differences outside of taunts and voicework but I can't seem to find any. That's why I sorta missing Roy of all characters right now, he was clearly different visually and mechanically in speed, strength and so on that it compelled me to pick him up and use him in different situations like Falco, Lucas, etc.


Now I normally don't do all the advanced technique you'd see advanced players use or follow the heavy competitive scene either, but I pay attention to smaller details like such above and it's because of that that Lucina doesn't do that to me and I like the character which makes it's conflicting. I don't want to pick her up because I want to play Marth with a woman's voice, I want to play as Lucina that's separates herself from the idea that she was considered to be alternate costume.

Lucina's just a fan service alternative to Marth, and really, in a game equal parts gameplay and fan service, can't hurt to have more of the latter

That's the kicker, I know. At the end of the day, Smash is wall to wall fanservice and I really can't complain Lucina's in at all. So yeah I'm happy for the character alone but knowing myself I'll just keep getting wrapped up in the potential of what could have been.

Or really, "how I wanted"

I'm not experiencing much cognitive dissonance with Lucina. Her character tried to emulate his style, after all. I guess it would've been nice if they altered the properties of her body, though (I.E. lighter but faster than Marth, etc).

Don't regret it. Game & Wario's often argued to be the worst game in the WarioWare franchise. It's a batch of gamepad tech-demos spruced up with the WarioWare aesthetic, rather than a proper entry in the series.

Well I am a huge MG fan, and you hit the nail on the head. He has a type of purity than many people that choose not to learn about him just simply will never understand. He's one of a kind, truly, in a sea of characters trying to diversify themselves.

That's why him being in Smash made me so fucking happy. Not only was it just a fan's dream come true, but he got a better chance to show off what he really is, a hero, in a more clear way, and to people that don't necessarily know a lot about him. Someone that belongs with Mario, Link, and Samus. He was raised in nearly the same way as Mario was, and continues to move video games forward in a way that only certain Nintendo franchises can rival. His inclusion was like being reunited with a long lost family that was separated at birth, and then fucking celebrating.

Not to mention his incredible moveset and diversity in style to the rest of the cast, it makes me so sad to see how many people just seem to throw all that away and see him as some sort of Sony soldier. Dissapointed, even. I just don't understand it, and I never will.

Also, he's still not cut yet. I obviously have a firm position on how bad I want him included, but I still know there's a good possibilty he can be cut. But he's not yet.
