You can actually share Xbox One and PS4 games with a friend?

Do you live under a rock? Unless you're talking about digitally.
I'm talking about digital purchases.
Ah okay. Digital sharing works as the game is open to whoever else is using the console as long as the owner's account is there as well. Also works with Gold and PS+ subs I believe too.

We have no idea if it was actually going to happen or not. From the looks of it, it sounded like an early idea Microsoft teased way too early to dispel the backlash against the initial DRM plans.

You need to be connected online to be able to play your own games if you do this, but you can play their games offline. And it's the same for them, they can play your games offline, but not their own. And you have to feel safe enough with the other person to give them your login credentials.

Other than SharePlay, coming in system software 2.00 for PS4?

They'll be referring to sharing account login details, with several people then downloading a game to their console based on a single purchase - I know that this is possible on PS3/PS4, but haven't really followed whether it's possible on Xbox. I don't think that's actually how it was intended to be used, though I'm sure that Sony are aware of it by now.

eh?

the thread on reddit said you can only switch three times though?

I make her console my home console, and my console her home console. When I buy games, I purchase them on her Xbox through my tag. Now she can play the game I downloaded on her console and I just redownload the game on xbox because its tied to my tag. You will have to be signed into Live but thats never a problem with me,

Yeah, the set as home feature for the Xbox One lets you share games with another person between two different consoles. Never tried it myself though -- probably will when my brother gets an Xbox One.

It's the same on the PS3, you could share with up to 5 people, then they reduced it to 2.

Was it actually share up to 5 or only have 5 consoles allowed? Because you can only have 2 PS3s allowed in total now and no more than that (not share up to 2 more, which would make 3 total).

My son and I do this his Xbox one is my home console and mine is his home console and we play digital games together at the same time all the time.

Login to friends Xbox console buy game. They log back in and play it. You log back into you Xbox console and you both can play online at same time.

Ps4 set your friends console as your main have him buy games as you. Log out and log back into his console as him he can play your games online. You log into your console download the game again and you both can play online at same time. I don't have a ps3

If you're system sharing with an out of state friend on Xbox One don't be surprised if you get caught when they do their massive ban waves.
Speculation or serious? I share my PS digital titles with my little brother. I live in France and he lives in America - do they ban for this?

5 consoles could be activated on one account for game content.

Microsoft has always been ban happy for this type of stuff. Sony are typically less banhappy than Microsoft.

This post is full of shit.

From what I remember reading, Remote Play will only work on the Primary System. So if you have your account set at your friends house, you can't connect to your PS4.

I would do this with friends, but I don't want to give up remote play and preloading on the PS4 to do it. Besides, I buy way more games than all of my friends do, so they would be getting a hell of a deal while I would lose features.

We have a two ps4 household, so the sharing of digital games "effectively" cuts the price of games in half and we can both play online at the same time.

Also share a playstation plus account this way

People like you spreading false rumors should be banned. Microsoft never banned anyone for doing this, they ban people for piracy and modding. They even said at one point that they don't care who you're sharing your games with

I also do this with my cousin. Works great and only ever need to buy one digital game.

Me and my Cus share our PSN accounts for years.
This is supposed to work just in case you have multiple consoles (in a second house or something).

Since my second PSN slot is already taken by my cus, I buy all my games in disk form to be able to lend them alsewhere.

You're sensitive as fuck bro. Please post a link to the article stating they don't care who you share with.

I thought it was common knowledge that Microsoft love dropping the banhammer. Many people have gotten system bans on the Xbox 360 by doing the gamesharing of signing into a friends account. Downloading the game, then said friend goes into download history and redownloads the game. I'm sorry that you've never seen any of these posts but they do exist.

Major Nelson was doing a twitch stream and a user asked if it was ok to do the primary system swap to share with a friend and his statement was that that was not how they intend the feature to be used and he does not recommend it. But don't mind me. I'm just spreading false rumors.

Yeah! Actually, I have a friend who buys multiplayer games digitally for this reason. We've tried this and have had success playing some of the games purchased via PSN, together, at the same time. Pretty awesome! (Did it a lot on PlayStation 3, as well.)
