I can't draw worth a damn, but I shall join you with what talents I have brethren. Haven't posted on Miiverse since the 70's anyway.
I had a few free minutes, so I took Ryce's awesomely-made 3DS character select screen and snapped a pic of what it looks like on the 3DS XL's top screen... or, well, an approximation of that anyway.
For some reason my 3DS was being an asshole and refused to display Ryce's pic natively in the Photos app, even after I converted, resized, and renamed it several times. So... I did the next best (?) thing: uploaded the 400x240 version to an image site and viewed it at approximately the correct size through the Internet browser.Behold:

Great, now I've been spending the last ten minutes trying to fix it to work on 3DS as well. :[
I thought maybe the transparency was the issue but nope. Can't figure out how 3DS image display works for my life. I remember having issues with it 3 years ago too, I'll never understand it lol

I know just as well as anyone that Krystal's never gonna be playable in Smash, and hey, at least Wolf fans can be happy with him as the third Star Fox rep.

I'm hoping Wolf gets a fast fall this time. Why was he the only character without one in the whole series? Kinda turns me off whenever I use him since I fast fall too much, admittedly lol.

I actually agree with this... Falco's much more a Fox clone than Wolf ever was and I feel he's a lot more disposable than Wolf for that reason. But at the same time, I feel Falco is way too entrenched into Smash as a fan favorite for there to ever be any realistic chance of the three Star Fox reps being anyone other than Fox, Falco, and Wolf.
I have to say I question Sakurai's decision to add Wolf over Krystal in Brawl, it's always been a weird choice to me. Since then I've learned that he's a really popular character in Japan apparently, but I still feel like Adventures, Assault and Command represented a really largescale expansion of the Star Fox universe and that Krystal is the obvious choice to represent all the new characters and elements that those games introduced. That said I like Wolf a lot and wouldn't want him cut, but I'll always wonder what Sakurai was thinking during Brawl's development when he was putting together the Star Fox side of the roster.
I think 3 characters is plenty for Star Fox so I doubt we'll be seeing Krystal any time soon, but if she ends up playing a big role in Star Fox U (although I doubt it honestly, I imagine this game will be more of a 64 callback than anything) maybe she could find her way in as DLC or in Smash 5.

Hey, quick question about the 'Japanese boxart' thing, for the multiplayer section, does it disconfirm download play? Does every player need their own copy? I'm assuming this is the case.
If it disconfirms it, why aren't people freaking out? I know some of you said you'd be really upset if it's not in.
Edit: Ahh, didn't see it mentioned last page. It's exactly as I suspected, but I knew some people had their hopes up. Leaving it out = more sales, don't have to create a 'less-featured' version, etc. It's a lot of work for a dev to implement it, and you have to do a cost-benefit analysis, and I'm sure it didn't pan out for smash bros.

Yeah I sounded a little bit too rough on Wolf in that post I think lol, he certainly has his own important role in the series and I can't say he's a bad choice, I just think that all things considered at the point in time between Melee and Brawl, Krystal's role was bigger and she had more potential to be unique. I'm not mad at Sakurai for choosing Wolf over her at all, just something we disagreed on I guess.

It was not weird choice since Sakurai want to add Wolf to Smash series ever since Smash 64, which is before Krystal came into the picture.

Haha! Well, that's not surprising... I'm very aware that Krystal is an incredibly unpopular character and not well-liked at all. Comes with the territory of liking certain characters, I guess.
Geno would be pretty cool, but I'm a dirty sinner and have always found Mallow more interesting. I wouldn't say no to Geno in Smash, of course, but I think I'd rather have Mallow.

And that's exactly why I don't want her its: she represents an era of misdirection for the franchise and I wouldn't really want that to be prominently featured in an all-star roster.
Wolf was a strange choice but I'd take him over Krystal in a heartbeat.

Man, I really hope that Paper Mario is revealed as a character; as a Mario main, that would be such a great surprise.
She's not the worst character in the world or anything, she just sort of rubs me the wrong way. Not anything in particular, I just find her boring. Maybe the main reason is I really, really want a staff/spear user in Smash and would just be upset if it was her. Again, though, I hope for all her fans sake she makes it in at some point; I just won't use her.Is there any reason for that?
Yeah I was about to say something about that lol. It's understandable why people dislike her (she was admittedly rather shoehorned into the series and it took a very different turn after her debut) but I like Adventures and especially Assault more than most people so I never really minded her I guess.
And admittedly I guess it would look a little lopsided to have Fox, Falco and Krystal but no bad guy...

Once again, Wolf was planned for Smash way before Krystal make her appearance in Star Fox games. That's probably why Sakurai would rather to have Wolf over Krystal in Brawl.
I know he was planned to be in Melee but they look so similar so they added Falco instead. Also I would like to believe that he was planned in Smash 64 but I would like to have citation for that first.
