For anyone who wants em.

Awesome POTD. shows Samus is a beauty that's also deadly.

Also, what's up with some "leak" that showed up on here? Thought I noticed some of you mentioning it.

EDIT - nevermind, found it. any reason why we should believe you WiiRevolution?

What started as his alternate costume is now her own character :p

There must be some good fan ideas for a Marth alt out there...

That's what I was thinking as well since a lot of people were banking on Lucina though her as her own character is better.

It doesn't even need to be something big. Would like something like we got with Ike. Which I think was a great way to change him up but keep him
Familiar.

Another "leak" via 4chan:

-This game has 48 Playable Characters (3DS has the same Roster as Wii U w/o DLC)
-3DS Version has 52 stages (40 news and 12 returns) and Wii U Version has 64 stages (44 news and 20 returns)
-Newcomers Left: Shulk and Chorus Man
-Cut Characters: Ivysaur, Squirtle, Lucas, and Snake
-DLC Characters are in Wii U Version only
-DLC Characters: Mewtwo, Lucas, Roy, Paper Mario, Dixie Kong, Ghirahim, Bandana Dee, Krystal, Snake, and Lloyd Irving
-Wii U exclusive modes: Adventure Mode, Smash Targets, Boss Smash, and Demos
-3DS exclusive modes: Smash Run, Target Bomb, and Mini-games
-Boss Smash: You can play as Boss character (Wii U GamePad only) and 5 Players (One Boss and Four Playable)
-Wii U Version will come out November 8th (Japan) and November 21st (North America)

Not sure how i'd feel about DLC characters but at least it would give fans their character if anyone was cut!

One great thing about Lucina being split out into her own character is that we get more colours/variants for her now than if she'd merely been an alt for Marth :D

Snake is cut but also DLC wth.
That seems odd but I guess there's a chance for that sort of thing.

It would definitely drive sales if he were to be cut, then introduced as a DLC character. I would much rather prefer he return as part of the main cast though. Lloyd is definitely a great pick for a DLC character though. I can see something like that happening for sure and I know would bring many fans to want to purchase him.

If I were to make a guess, i'd say characters would cost up to $5 each.

Starting to get concerned that we're only seeing stages that were in Brawl, though...

I totally expected that when they mentioned that they ported brawl and start there. I'm fine with that since Brawl have a lot of good stages but yeah, it would be nice to see some Melee stages and 64 stages coming back.

I always figured stages from 64 were a fanbase pipe dream (think of how awful they would look without significant touch-ups), but Melee didn't seem like that big a stretch. If Smash 4 really was ported from Brawl (likely, at this point) then it seemed like it should have Melee as part of its legacy to draw from, but of course it's never as easy as that...

Kinda kills my reasoning for Mewtwo not being that big a deal this time around too, but if they did make any significant headway with him in Brawl's development maybe it's not a total bust there either.

Lloyd is actually the one that makes me most willing to believe this whole thing is fake. He doesn't really fit Sakurai's apparently criteria for third party characters, and doesn't even come close to comparing to Sonic, Pacman, Mega Man, or even Snake.

Even if the majority of past stages are direct Brawl rips, I'm hoping they'll take the time to port at least one Melee stage which wasn't in Brawl. I just really want Fountain of Dreams...

I agree that most 64 stages (except maybe Polygon Battlefield, Metal Cavern, and DK Jungle due to the prerendered aesthetic of the SNES DKC games) couldn't be inserted in the game through their current forms, but remade versions of those stages are something I'd be happy with paying for as DLC.

Not to mention SEGA, Konami and Capcom getting the short end of the stick.

hate to be that person but i'd be really, really disappointed if bowser jr. was a newcomer to the roster.

we have plenty of great mario franchise reps for smash. bowser jr. should be an AT and nothing more. there's plenty of characters who could take his place.

Yeah, I don't mind to see touched up 64 stages because they would look good. Same for Melee. Updated Poke Float would be amazing.

Okay, when Sakurai said both versions have the same roster, he meant it, there will unlikely be game specific DLC.

Also, stage count seems way too high for both games, expecting 35-40 at most for both.

Agreed. Sakurai couldn't have picked a better newcomer for Mario than Rosalina. We don't need anymore characters from that franchise.

Also, why is everyone speculating Wii U and 3DS getting different alts/costumes? They both share the same, which is very very clear in the PotD..
I wouldn't have even thought about it to be honest if Sakurai hadn't explicitly mentioned that the new ZSS alt is in both versions. Seems odd to mention that if the two versions are meant to have the same colours/alts, don't you think?

No idea. I would like to think that it's pretty sure thing that both games would have same colors and alts. It don't really take up spaces.

The JP just says "variations" will be the same between 3DS and Wii U, so I think it's safe to say that any and all alts we've seen thus far will be available in both versions. USA Mario being featured on the 3DS reservation boxart bolsters this argument.

He writes a lot of obscure things like that, such as the whole "3DS has roughly the same ATs". It seems more like a playful troll to me.

Well, pretty much all of the AT's in the Wii U demo were in the 3DS demo, so I don't see why not.

Because that wasn't every assist trophy in either game? If he says "roughly the same" upfront you're setting yourself up for disappointment when they aren't the same assist roster.

They wouldn't make character DLC console exclusive when the 3DS is more than able to handle patches/expansions and half of those listed DLC characters are just dumb.

You're probably not getting Krystal or a Tales of character.
