To long post: damn, gg.

Man the onion isn't taking any bullshit on this.

link removed (racist website)

Local St. Louis sources said Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.” This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police.

pic removed (file photo)

huge grain of salt... Guy that posted is DEA agent an obviously pro police.

sorry guys embarrassing... top of page too :(

I wouldn't agree with the use of deadly force in any case an officer or a civilian were not in danger. The lens for judging that danger should be the same as it is for any case of justified use of deadly force: was it a reasonable belief that the danger was real. If an officer reasonably believes it, it should be justified. If not, it shouldn't be.

agreed

If he suffered that kind of trauma he wouldn't be seen on video at the scene casually standing around over Brown's body. Come on now.

There's a lot of stuff being thrown out, by both sides, to be fair.

Put cameras on them, guarantee the use of deadly force drops dramatically.

We have dash cams on many cars. Deadly force has remained the same because people here shoot at other people in front of police then just point their guns at the squad car. What has decreased is complaints against police.

We also have police cameras on almost every intersection and all over dangerous zones.

About a month ago we had two guys pull out AKs on an unmarked Gang enforcement car. Two shooters ended up in the hospital.

Lemme play devils advocate...

doesnt' it take a minute to bruise? Those photos were fresh.

edit:

Ugh, i threw up in my mouth. Nope, can't do devils advocate.

edit:

I have a hankering for chick-fil-a now...

That testimony from Wilson makes him seem like a 100% faultless victim and Brown an animal like brute.
Reminds me of those Hollywood style quotes that supposedly came out of Trayvon Martin's mouth during his confrontation with George Zimmerman.
I called bullshit on the latter and do so on the former.

Yep.

It's also the furthest from what anyone else is saying.

He just killed a guy. Adrenaline has caused a lot of crazier things. Not saying it's probable but possible.

Maybe - adrenaline can mask severe pain for a period of time.

However, I broke a friends orbital bone by mistake playing basketball a few years back. He definitely was not walking around and was in quite a bit of pain, so I see your point.

Edit: And I see from the posts above the picture is complete rubbish. Hilarious.

Nevermind the body was left in street for hours.

This can't be right after it happened, since they have a full police cordon. Other photos and videos of the incident show the body uncovered. I doubt it was for 3 hours or whatever, but yes, for a significant period of time.

No need to entertain info from a crazy website like that.

You don't believe that Martin -- armed with the confidence that comes from being a Mixed Martial Arts master -- threatened Zimmerman with quotations like "you're gonna die tonight mother fucker"?

I find it strange that people with the strongest opinions in their posts, about how everyone needs to calm down, is exaggerating etc... keeps posting information from David Duke.

Tasers have to be reloaded after each shot. If the officer somehow misses them, then that person would already be on top of them by the time the cartridge is replaced. Using a baton is out of the question.

I don't understand why you think officers shouldn't be able to defend themselves. They don't lose the right to self defense just because they're police.

Said I wasn't going to talk about this anymore but since you quoted me, looking back I probably didn't word that well. I do think police officers have the right to defend themselves. What I was referring to was that the officer made a point, to point out that the priority goes to officer safety. Considering that a man just died, it rubbed me the wrong way, almost like his life simply wasn't important enough compared to that of the officer's. And as others have pointed out, this officer (or is it another officer?) keeps saying things in other videos regarding this shooting that make it clear he thinks an officer's life is more important than a citizen's which I completely disagree with. They are of equal importance.

At least Zimmerman showed his face and had actual injuries from getting his ass beat. I have less respect for Wilson and the Ferguson PD in this case.

I have stayed out off this thread, and I've only casually followed this story. I just came in to say WTF CNN. Wow, they have turned into Fox News lite. It's so god damn weird.

In Chicago? Sorry, but there's a lot more wrong with Chicago than police using deadly force.

I know a State Cop who is part of the unit they sent up there, in less than 24 hours his squad car was completely key'd and the passanger window busted out by someone throwing something through it while he was driving.

The Ed Show on MSNBC is comparing the Bundy situation to this, saying how it's ridiculous that people aiming guns at Feds results in 0 arrests, while here the police are overwhelmingly overreacting. I saw people bring up the point here the other day, good to see news pick up on it.

its mainstream media, what do you expect? they literally dont report newd, they are for entertainment. CNN is like WWE and Fox News is like TNA, its all fake, ones just more tolerable to watch.

How many times have racist websites been quoted in this thread so far?

Too many. I would guess that most don't even realize it, they are just using google search or getting linked to it by somebody else without knowing what the website is all about. Most of them don't advertise they they are racist or make it obvious without doing some research. What is surprising and unsettling to me is how popular they seem to be that they are coming up at the top of google searches and the like.

Yeah, just caught that - when all this stuff comes from such questionable websites, why do people keep posting them here? How is this even being found in the first place?

Dat internet age. People with a shitload of "info" within a seconds' reach, coupled with naivete and/or ignorance. This isnt meant to speak on Flo, just generally from experience with my own friends sending me links to ridiculous shit.

Perhaps the press should just demand the pics. Thats the only reason they released the footage from the store after all.

The store report was a strategic selective release. They will need something similar to release something else. Maybe the toxicology report show evidence that Mike was on bath salts.

Yeah, I was being sarcastic which admittedly isn't a good idea in this thread. That was just their bs excuse for why they can release certain things but not others.

That picture is completely irrelevant because it's a file photo included in an article written on a clearly racist website in order to spread FUD about this case.

there is a video of Wilson pacing around without ever touching his face as if it were injured, he look uninjured

Support grows for Darren Wilson, officer who shot Ferguson teen Michael Brown

I was actually just coming to ask what's going on with CNN. They've had that same headline up since yesterday, which is super strange for any headline.

I read the story on there about the other guy who got shot today. He was begging to get shot apparently and the good cops were all but too happy to oblige.

Surely there are other ways to disarm a crazy man with a knife right?

Europeans seem to think so. But once you cross the Atlantic nothing can stop a man with a knife but a bullet(s) fired from the saintly hands of a police officer.

Wilson must have the same magic powers Brown had. He suffered a fracture to his eye socket yet remained on the scene with no medical treatment.
To be fair, I suffered a Jones Fracture when I was 13 in martial arts class. I didn't know I fractured, just thought I landed awkward and slightly sprained it. Wrapped it and finished the class, went home, no issues. The next morning went to get out of bed, NOPE. Immediately fell to the ground in pain stepping on my foot. Your body can produce endorphins to stop/ignore pain as it feels necessary. Not magic powers. Not saying his fracture is legit, just using an example from my own personal experience.

A culture of violence only creates and produces violence. American culture is rooted very firmly in such violence, in the meme of "shoot first, ask questions later" because we conditioned people to feel everyone around you is a threat, be it a pedophile, a terrorist, a school shooter, a gangster, what have you.

It is no surprise to see it get so inflamed. It's almost a little hilarious at how absurd it's become, but also incredibly tragic to see how far the culture continues to paint itself up with spooks and violence.
