PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

If you're talking about the 30 hour content patch that's near the end of September

Is that supposed to be the 500mb patch? I thought that we had got a day one patch, not with content, but with fixes or something like that. Some people told that it was 500 and something mbs.

No, that is the content and balance/fixes patch which is out in September.

Counterspy looks and feels a bit rough on Vita. Loading times are just a bit too long, resolution is not native which spoils the art, and texture resolution is very low despite the textures themselves being simple.

It just doesn't feel very polished.. why does the main menu have borders?

I look forward to trying out the PS4 version, and hopefully that's leagues better. The gameplay is very simple, but fun enough. The core gameplay with persistent defcons is actually kind of neat, and the missions are well paced.

I still see the persona games on the psn webstore, maybe its just a glitch with them not showing up on the VITA itself?

edit - this in regards to games disappearing from psn that people were talking about

That's too bad. I played about an hour of the PS4 version and it runs incredibly well, looks great, and the load times are lightning quick. Can't wait to play more of it tonight. Definitely give this version a try, a shame about the Vita version not looking so hot.

shinobi602 did a thread on PS4 games coming out in September:

Started this last month and many seemed to like the idea so I figured I'd carry on each month. Could be a good way to have a concise place to see the releases coming to PS4.

Pretty decent in September. Let me know if I've missed anything! =)

I know it's a little old but... DJMAX Technika Tune. Worth the price of admission?

I like rhythm games, but 45 is pricey for a VITA game.

I may just buy the physical copy since I imagine it will appreciate in value due to the limited run.

I bought Hotline Miami when the PS4 version went up on the store, then come to find that it was later updated with a 20% PS+ sale...

Son of a bitch.

This is why I hate the damn Sony update method.

Physical copies are hard to come by and will run around the same price, but it's still definitely one of the best games on the system.

wait what, SSD discount is still on for another week

Discounts Ending 8/26
Crimsonland
Crimsonland
Surgeon Simulator
Soul Sacrifice Delta
Hotline Miami

Phew, just finished Ys 7, awesome game.

I'm looking to dive back into another JRPG as I chip away at the backlog, any recommendations on what I should tackle next out of Trails in the Sky, Persona 3 Portable and FFX-2?

The last few games Ive played are
FFX
Ragnarok Odyssey Ace
Rogue Legacy
Ys 7
In that order, in case it helps.

Cheers Vitabros!

What's the best place to get a 64 gb vita memory card from? About to take on a job that will have me away from home 3 weeks at a time so I want to have my card loaded before then.

Crimsonland is rad though, nice to play it again after so long. Did take a while to get used to the aiming though, bit awkward at first aiming with the vita's right stick.

Titis likely has the lowest production values of any of any on your list but it is likely the best. P3P is fantastic....but isn't the best way to play P3.

Are PSN games region locked? Can I buy downloadable game from GAME UK and play it in Poland?
Sorry for that random question but I can't find straight answer on google.

Glad that SAO Vita looks to be doing well :D; from what I saw of it online, it seems to be a very solid game :).

I also gotta hand it to Bamco for being strong Vita supporters this year. They brought over lots of Vita games this year, with them bring over One Piece, SAO and soon Tales of Heart R :D.

I agree with you guys about the localization for SAO being lazy (just them taking the Asian version and makings some fixes here and there) but at the very least they brought it here. They thought a big game like that could do well on Vita, so they took the risk and left it a Vita exclusive for the west; no 3DS version and no PS3 version, just Vita. That is very nice of them to show they have confidence that the system is worth developing for :).

More then I can say for Sony (with them dropping first party support next year) but still, really cool of Bamco :D.

The Vita isn't region locked at all :D! The thing is....its a bit confusing :(.

For digital games, you can play them on your Vita from any region but only as long as the system is logged into the same account you bought it on. If you say want to log into your NA account and try to play your JP PSN game for example, it won't work. You have to format your Vita to fully switch PSN accounts.

But on the flipside the Vita is fully non-region locked with retail games, so you can get Vita games from anywhere and put them on your NA Vita for example. You still even get the patches and updates to the games to :). The only issue is that you cannot download DLC for the game unless you have an account that is tied to the game (meaning, you have to sign into a JP account to get DLC for a JP game).

Hope this helps :).

Taking a day off work tomorrow for SAO.

Same, but substitute class for work. I'll reiterate what I said before and expand on it, screw the haters I am thoroughly enjoying SAO. Been playing since it came up in the store and the translation is not good but perfectly understandable. But I enjoy the story and I love the gameplay so far, it was exactly what I wanted it to be.
