PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

I agree with you guys about the localization for SAO being lazy (just them taking the Asian version and makings some fixes here and there) but at the very least they brought it here. They thought a big game like that could do well on Vita, so they took the risk and left it a Vita exclusive for the west; no 3DS version and no PS3 version, just Vita. That is very nice of them to show they have confidence that the system is worth developing for

Yes its lovely they brought it over but....THE ERRORS, THE ERRORS.

So Naruto: UN Impact is on the US Vita store now.

And you can download directly from the vita as well. No more PS3 shenanigans.

Good. You're all welcome.

Disappointing, they put it up after sale.

From what I saw online, I feel like I can fill it in myself as I read the text XD! I will just read the text slower then I did in other RPG's.

It does suck that the game has translation issues (really a shame considering I love the world of SAO; watched the first half of season 1 for almost 4-5 hours straight last night and loved every minute of it :D), but we got the game in NA and EU, so that is fine with me :).

I hope Bamco does fix some of the translation latter on though via patches; some really simple fixes could go a long way to make the translation more easy to understand :).

The Vita isn't region locked at all :D! The thing is....its a bit confusing :(.

For digital games, you can play them on your Vita from any region but only as long as the system is logged into the same account you bought it on. If you say want to log into your NA account and try to play your JP PSN game for example, it won't work. You have to format your Vita to fully switch PSN accounts.

But on the flipside the Vita is fully non-region locked with retail games, so you can get Vita games from anywhere and put them on your NA Vita for example. You still even get the patches and updates to the games to :). The only issue is that you cannot download DLC for the game unless you have an account that is tied to the game (meaning, you have to sign into a JP account to get DLC for a JP game).

Hope this helps :).

Thanks for your answer.
But unfortunately I forgot to add that I am asking about PS3 games.
Im new to this so I know nothing about how it works.

Same, but substitute class for work. I'll reiterate what I said before and expand on it, screw the haters I am thoroughly enjoying SAO. Been playing since it came up in the store and the translation is not good but perfectly understandable. But I enjoy the story and I love the gameplay so far, it was exactly what I wanted it to be.

I'll only be able to get my hands on my Vita in a couple of hours, but just to start downloading the game and go to bed.

Man, that is even better in your case :D. With PS3, all you have to do is just set up multiple users (very easy to do; go to the far left on the XMB and select 'New User', then type up a name and bam, new 'user' on PS3). Once you set up a new user, log into the extra PSN account (or if you want to make a UK or JP one, just click 'New Account' and follow the on screen prompts).

With the new account set up/logging into PSN, you go and get your games on the PlayStation Store. Granted, it will be MUCH easier if you use the web store (as the PS3 PSN store is a bit crap) but either way you can access the store.

Enter your credit card/PSN Code Voucher/ect and get the stuff you want :).

The best part about PS3 is that even with multiple users, you can still play the games on your main account (for example, I got a Sonic Generations demo from the UK PSN store when it came out early there and I was able to play it on my US PSN account).

Hope this is a bit more clearer to you :).

Fair enough! I'm waiting for the September 30 patch anyway but...

Anyone else having issues with PS4 Hotline Miami not showing up as free? I'm sure I bought it when it was free on PS+ for ps3/Vita, especially since I've been playing it fairly recently. Via version is showing up with a price tag in the webstore and Vita store for me, yet it's in my download list along with the ps3 version.

I have no idea if the patch will fix the translation; just a guess on my part :l. I think that they wanted this out soon in NA/EU so that way they can get the most buyers (considering how much games are coming next month).

It would be realistic for a huge patch to fix a few of the translation issues (I heard that the original patch in JP/Asia was huge (500mb+), so it may include some fixes in the translation alongside the extra content/gameplay fixes), but who really knows.

Sorry if the translation is bugging that much :(.

You have to 're-buy' the game again; this happened with Flower and Flow too. You go to the PS4 version of the game and you should have the option to 'Select Version'. Click that and you should have the 'Price' and 'Free' versions to chose from. Select the free version and add the PS4 game to your cart, then once you 'buy' it, it will re-activate the PS3 and Vita licenses of the game alongside the PS4 version being in your download list.

Thanks a lot for your exhaustive answer! Now everything is clear.

I'm also curious about this. If it's good I'd definitely buy a new 3D platformer.

I was curious as well (which is why I came to this thread) but since you two were wondering and nobody else seems to have played it I looked around online and the reviews seem fairly favorable. One thing of note I saw in this review is that the game doesn't have a jump button but instead you free-run similar to Assassin's Creed apparently.

I should probably play all my unbeaten games first before randomly grabbing it but it definitely sounds like it's worth $15 (at the Plus pricing).

Odd, it's not giving me any option like that. Web store, ps4 store and Vita store all let me go to the final checkout page without any mention of different versions. Might have to deal with support on this one. Don't remember having to deal with this for flow and flower either.

Translation errors always happen. FFXIV has taught me that the errors must needs happen!

There's a difference between a Natsume localization that has a few typos and what I've see with SAO. It looks like Bandai Namco just fed a raw translation by a non-native English speaker into the game with brief proofing.

I guess I'll pass, absolutely hate any sort of free-running. I don't know why you'd design a 3D platformer game without a jump button.

Thanks for finding the review though!

Did you check your download list? If the game(s) aren't there....I don't get it :l.

Did you try 'buying' the games even though the price came up? Sometimes that does happen (in EU, when things like the Sly or Ratchet Collection came out, I believe that the games were still full priced on the stories even when people bought the PS3 versions, but when they added the game to there cart and went to fully buy them, the price changed to 0.00).

Is it easy to pair a Vita with a PC with wifi?

Yea, in my opinion it was a bit easier than with my mac (which was still easy). Just download the content manager assistant PC program and you have to do some pin number process with your vita and PC on the same network. After you pair it any time you have them both on and connected to the same network, you can use content manager on vita to wirelessly send screenshots back to your pc.

They (ps3 and Vita versions) are definitely in the download list on my Vita. I tried adding it to my cart and it showed up with a price. Took it through the checkout process until the final step and it never changed to $0. Very strange indeed.

While the producers posting about it on PS Blog keep saying it's a 3D Platformer I guess the developers are a bit more quick to call it an adventure game. Sort of more like a Zelda game (though I'm guessing the format is different). I still want to give it a try and hope it does well but I'm thinking that someone in marketing decided it must be pushed as a 3D Platformer and they're sticking to that wording the best they can.

Has PSN been spotty for anyone else today? My connection is working on everything else. Afraid something is wrong with my slim :(.

*Edit* And like clockwork as soon as I post something, it works.

not showing as free for me either, I think it's glitching because it doesn't show that I own the PS3/Vita versions either and I bought the Vita version the day it went live for Vita

Yes, but nobody's talking about it because there aren't really any good sales.

That's leads to my questions:

At what price is Conception 2 a good deal, if it is at all? Also, does the DLC affect this?

And, any inclination we might see Danganronpa go on sale before 2 pops up?
