Just as I thought. It's definitely fake.

The faker was obviously using the E3 select screen as his reference, so he had to improvise the icons for the remaining characters. Unfortunately, he didn't realize that certain characters were briefly shown in the 3DS trailer from the Nintendo Digital Event -- Dedede's icon has a red background (not yellow) and Greninja has a teal/green background (not blue).

Also, that character layout is just nonsensical.

I was willing to trade in wolf for Jr.

But I am also ready to pack this fake leak up.

I don't think an in progress image from the e3 build proves or disproves this, color of the character background could have easily changed between then and now

For what it's worth those renders look pretty nice.
Of all the things that make me lean towards fake funnily enough it's the simple grey gap in the character roster around the lower area, I can't buy a Sakurai menu lacking that extra detail of visual flair even in the empty areas of the character select.

This is definitely an high volume of stuff. Someone put a lot of work into it. Shulk, Dog, and Bowser Jr. look good.

I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that it's fake. I'm not a fan of that dog, but I never really thought Shulk could get in.

My guess: a few graphic artists conspired to make this as a joke (maybe even the guys who did the Proto Man and Klonoa renders). They’ve likely been working on it since the Duck Hunt Dog/Bowser Jr. “leak” popped up a few weeks ago on SmashBoards.

It’s always the small things that make or break a “leak,” and unfortunately there are too many inconsistencies and bizarre design/layout decisions that kill this one for me.

If this is real, it could be that this is a roster in the midst of being unlocked, so some of the character icons are weirdly placed until the full roster is unlocked. That happened in Brawl too, if I remember correctly.
