ESRB usually wants to see user-editable content sent to them, I assume this includes names. They might have just put in an identifier because why not.
I don't know the reason, but I've seen publishers (in my case, NISA) put in generic names or text. Maybe Nintendo has different policies.

I guess with all the "Evidence" shown against the starter's evo's and with that Mac/Shuik pic posted previously, can we finally realize that Nintendo, like nearly every major gaming company ever, can and do reuse assets/concepts/parts of ideas.

Next to who he's cloned from as all clones are. Clone Clause overrides Series Clause in Melee. Ganon's right there with team Hylian though. Thought was obviously put into the CSS.

Is Pit the only retro character to get a completely new look compared to their original appearance? IC is based on artwork from that time, ROB is pretty faithful as is G&W.

That's why always put your seat belts on or you might just fall off from the peak of the loop!
IC is based on their artwork but it's still a much different take on the characters, they're reinvisioned as a teamwork duo when the actual game was actually competitive (though you could work together until the bonus stage).
Pit's design is much different, but in Brawl at least he wasn't that far removed from his game's powers or anything. Sakurai just used a little embellishment to make him "modern," and that paid off in spades as well.
The retro revivals tend to have a little more leeway in their depictions than the hardware based characters. (Though they still basically invented a character for ROB)
It's funny what a PoTD will do for a character's popularity on questionable art sites.

I'd love a proper reveal of the Star Fox stage.
The whole thing is jumbled too much with character positions, though I disgress - if it's not the full roster I can see why it's out of place. Brawl did the same thing.
Earthbound stage.
Corneria (Melee). Because Sakurai likes to fuck with us.
