Legend of Korra Book 3: Change |OT| SCHEDULEBENDING

Woah, big reveal about the leak in the podcast. They say that Nick didn't give a damn and Book 3's leaks and the main reason it was released a week after announcing it was because they couldn't find a place in the schedule later on. Either it was released now in the summer or not until next year.

They weren't accidentally leaked by Nick Mexico either, those episodes. They were stolen from the servers. They even backtrack to problems with ATLA's scheduling, saying that they were baffled by the network's reluctance to show them in order.

Overall, they say Nick cares about the series but they have a hard time finding a place for it, even though they know it is extremely popular.

Bryan must have got some bad information there as I'm pretty sure they weren't stolen off the servers. Nick Mexico accidentally went and put Book 3 episodes as Book 2 episodes instead as I remember when /co/ found out and were trying to rip as many episodes as possible before they noticed their mistake.

Still sucks though how Nick treated the show after the leaks.

Wait....the avatar bet was for the end of this episode causing Tenzin to die right? Not for him to die by the end of the finale? I just...I have a bad feeling about my bet now.

That's my understanding, yeah. The bet was that he died in the latest episode, not that he'll die in the finale.

If he didn't die in The Ultimatum, he's not dying in the finale. Someone else might, but I don't think Tenzin... I hope not :S

In the podcast it was mentioned by one of the writers that Tenzin almost died, or almost had an on screen death... Or something like that. Take that for what you will.

I really hope Korra goes back up on iTunes. Even though I've been buying the episodes on Amazon, I am more than willing to buy them again on iTunes. I want all my episodes on my iDevices.

All this talk about the finale has me hyped, can't wait till it's available for purchase.

Sucks that Nick couldn't find a place for Korra to air, but really what really took up the early Saturday slot book 1 had that couldn't be pushed back a bit. Really seems like poor organizing on their part. They could of at least start hyping it up sooner.

Just as a friendly reminder and PSA, it is NOT okay to post hentai on this message board.

Feel free to PM me it though.

that was my understanding... the argument was that tenzin at this point is dead... that we will never see him alive again unless it's a flashback...

it had nothing to do with what was to come, it was a debate if he died at the end of the last episode (which he did not :P).

Sounds good.

What if Tenzin just never appears on the show again and none of the other characters bring him up? Who wins?

Everyone loses.

So I finally caught up on the last two seasons of this after bailing out after the season 1 finale, since that was so bad. It's still not on the same level as the original series, but for the most part they really turned this around. Excited for the finale.

Also, it didn't even occur to me that Tenzin may be dead until I read the speculation in here. No way they just pummel him to death off-screen after they just featured in the previous episode how Zaheer executes people he actually intends to kill.

He said that was what he was initially told, but they did further research and found out that that was what happened.

Cut out their discussion on the last airbender film as that was pretty juicy

He explicitly debunks that as the first theory they heard and reaffirms that this is what happened.

Ah my bad listening to the Podcast right now and direct quote

"We know that because it was initially reported that the affiliate in Mexico they accidentally put it up on the website that was what was told to us blah blah. But they looked into it and it was not, nothing had ever been uploaded it had been stolen off the servers"

Man really sucks hearing their disappointment in how Book 3 was launched and the fact they only found out about the premiere a week out from it airing also.

"Just one Promo"

Oh yes, they sounded just as disappointed with the roll out of Book 3 as we were. They really let it all out on that podcast.

That Nerdist Podcast was awesome. A lot of insight that makes me look less harshly on certain things (except the movie lol). Mike and Bryan are great.

I don't see Tenzin dying, this is a Y7 show, he's married and the father of 3 kids, they went out of their way to tiptoe around killing the Queen, never actually saying she was dead, even tho it's clear she was.

Having said that, the scene was dark as hell.

That would be pretty interesting. Book 4 sets up the next Avatar, and Korra can still be heavily involved as his/her only Avatar spirit to guide her (the next Avatar is fucked).

it can start
in a time when there is no need for benders or recollection of the avatar, with a guy/gal in a mental ward because they claim they can shoot fire and see a woman who keeps telling them to punch everything.

Wait, this actually makes total sense. Why are we spoilering things? This is speculation.
It would give significance to Korra losing her past lives, might actually make the White Lotus get its shit together, and spur a worldwide search. It would lead up to whatever kind of new series they want.

my guess for the finale:
korra dies
season 4 is set in the far future
Yeah but Zaheer and crew have been trying to capture her alive this whole time. Unless you're saying she'll do some sort of heroic sacrifice which will cause her death or she'll die accidentally.

Just finished Season 1 and it was great. I think that the twist about Noatak was a bit weak, but it did give some depth to Tarrlok. Even though I would've preferred a bigger fight between Korra and Noatak, I think they way he went out was pretty good, too. I like these characters, and just like with A:TLA, I'm sticking around soley for them, as cool as this world is, they make the show.

Quick thoughts on the world, though. It was really jarring at first to see cars, radios, robots, and eventually, fighter planes make it onto the scene. The world going through some kind of industrial revolution is fascinating, but at the same time, makes perfect sense as that's the proper evolution of things. Seeing the old cast as, well, adults is a delight as well and I could watch a show on that premise of their later years.

Onto season 2.

you really want to keep away from this thread until you're caught up, spoilers up until the current episode are fair game.

As to what I think will happen in the season finale, based on that quote from a spiritual man in the show that somebody posted here
Zaheer attempts to possess Korra's body and manages to escape, trapping Korra in the spirit world where next season she has to try and come back

I really, really think that
Zaheer and crew will be stopped/killed but the Red Lotus will still be the villains next season. Keeps it connected but still separate like they wanted.

and next season is of course when we find out
a Red Lotus guru taught Amon to take bending away through blood bending.

maybe zaheer
fucks up so hard korra has to set things right and perishes in the process, and zaheer either turns himself in or becomes a sort of anti-hero with a more measured worldview.

I think Zaheer is
probably the leader of the Re Lotus as mentioned in previous spoillers

There's a good chance the Red Lotus was lead astray by a spirit who possessed a White Lotus long ago and splintered off to cause hayham or else there wouldn't be that bit about spirits possessing people when they meditate to enter the Spirit World.

if you wanted to see fan art of Korra cosplaying as Revy

all you had to do was ask

Ugh, why do people do this is beyond me.
*right click, save as

Also people stop spoiler tagging wild speculation, makes it harder to judge spoiler from fun speculation since I think the episodes have been leaked.

Her murder is shown on-screen except for the very moment of her death. That is hardly tiptoeing. Jett's death in AtLA was tiptoeing.

Anything is possible now.

I'm making a post here, since someone PM'd me asking and I figured it was better to just clear the air.

No, I did not leave because of the last post here (what Joeytj is referring to)...well sort of. Basically, my cousin who I was really close with (like best friends) had committed suicide after a life long battle of clinical depression. That entire week I was emotionally distraught, and was having a hard time coping with it. Emotionally I was not stable, and had no business posting on NeoGAF while in this mental state. However, one of the ways I tried dealing with my sadness was to distract myself by posting on GAF like a mad man. So yeah, when I saw a post in this thread that rubbed me the wrong way (the way a certain poster was being stand offish to someone), I launched in on them and got into the whole debate about sub-bending and what not. Of course, people debated with me on it (and they had every right to do so), but I wasn't really in the right mind frame. And so to me, it felt like people were piling up on me.

Of course that wasn't true at all. No one was to blame and no one was piling up on me (it was me that was being aggressive). In fact, they were doing what any normal person would do when they don't agree with someone and were calmly debating it. But I wasn't really being rational in that moment, and I was being overly emotional and so I kind of had a little meltdown. I don't want to make excuses for it, because it was clearly childish and pathetic. But what can I say, I was on a war path, and on the hinge of breaking down emotionally, so it wasn't anything but irrational.

So a couple days went by, and I decided that I was going to just leave NeoGAF. Again, it wasn't rational. I was going to message Evilore and have him ban my account. However, my GF who is an avid gamer told me that she would take the account instead (I think she figured I would eventually want to go back to GAF, so she just took it until I was ready to come back). However, I had an admin change the accounts name to her favorite character (Persona is actually my favorite series, but Chie is my fav character), because at the moment I figured she really was going to take it over. I of course quickly regretted doing this, as after a day of two of emotional release, I realized how irrational I was being about everything.

But, the damage was done. I have a name change now, and I really couldn't go back to this thread after abandoning my beloved name, and leaving on such a dramatic fashion. I'm both embarrassed and ashamed. And the worst part of all this, is that I still find myself having a wave of emotion come over me at random times of the day, and I start crying. I know that time will eventually heal my wounds. I just ask that you guys don't think too poorly of me, for reacting the way that I did. Again, I know it was pathetic and shameful. I know it was irrational. I'm not proud of it.

Anyways, I don't think I'll be posting in this thread again (for the obvious reason that I'm embarrassed and ashamed). But, I figured I would at least let some folks know why I stopped posting here, and why I had the bizarro name change.

Sorry about your loss. My condolences. I am glad that you did not leave neogaf. You are a great poster.

I got a chance to listen to that podcast and it was excellent. I'm definitely feeling more positive about Korra as a whole. I loved how open and honest they were in all topics.

In the podcast it was mentioned by one of the writers that Tenzin almost died, or almost had an on screen death... Or something like that. Take that for what you will.

It seemed to me like they could have also been talking about the earth queen in that sequence. It was unclear.

Guys season 2 had a great finale, I don't know what you all are smokin'.

Once I kinda got over that the whole season was going to be spirit-centered, and after the backstory about the original Avatar Wan laying the groundwork (art direction was perfect), it was a pretty good season. There were a few episodes that were sluggish, but it was all worth it once chapter 11 hit (best episode, by the way). Introducing the rest of Aang's kids was excellent as well, as I can't get enough of the adult cast (and Iroh)! Score is still amazing, and it'll be very interesting if the writers will stick to this shared world of spirits and humans. The finale was big, and felt appropriately epic, as opposed to season 1's admittedly weak finish. Loved that they split up Team Avatar to give them some more attention, though I'm wondering if they'll do anything else with Asami, development-wise, and not enough Lin!

Still, can't wait to jump into, and catch up with, season 3.

Pacific Avatar and Korra being a horrible person and everyone just apologizing to her is awful. Once again, at the end of the season she decides to leave the portals open without consulting anyone else, without even thinking more than a couple of seconds on how it would effect anyone.

I'm actually glad they kicked her out of the city, because she caused it herself,
