PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

GAF, can you sell me on Sly Collection for the Vita? Never played a single Sly game before, so I'm technically blind in the whole series. Got Sly 4 (I think?) on the PS+, so it would be 4 games to play if I bought the Collection (I like to play them in order).

Well, Sly 1 is the best game from the PS2 games (in my opinon). The first one is esentally Crash Bandicot-esc level designs mixed with very light collecting (the clue bottles + safe) and some stealth moves to pull of. Granted the stealth really isn't that important (as everyone dyes in one hit) but still, it is very fun to use :D. The original is the most Sly-sentric of the original games (with Murry having boring mini games, Sly have one shooting level in....about 2 worlds and Bently having one hacking mini game toward the end of the game) and it is the strongest for that alone. The platforming feels so tight and fun :D. The visuals really shine on Vita too; the cell-shading really helps with native res :). The performance on Vita across all three games is solid too (being a largely stable 30FPS with the games running at native res).

Sly 2 is a good sequel to the original in the since that it takes Sly's gameplay and refines it; the controls for the stealth moves feel more responsive, Sly can now sneak around/pick-pocket foes, and he has a run button now. It makes exploring the now larger hub-worlds a blast to explore :). Bentley and Murry return with completely new gameplay styles and its good; the former handles that hacking stuff while the latter handles the fighting (which is quite fun at times :)). The only issue the second game has is that it can get boring after a while :l. By the time your reach 2/3rds through the game, you may be tired of it. Granted, that was the case for me, but it may happen to you. It is overall a great game and a great foundation that Sly 4 used to make a damn great game :D.

....The less said about Sly 3 the better X(. The game is what would happen if Sonic Team was making a Sly game; playable characters up the wazo, Sly taking a back seat to much weaker gameplay and the game strips away the collecting stuff (clue bottles/treasure) from the hubs. The game still is okay largely due to Sly's gameplay being great still and the visuals looking amazing on Vita....but just skip it man :(.

The Collection as a whole is a great one; you get two great games for (with this sale) 10 bucks.....sounds like a good deal to me :D. I recommend that you just play Sly 4 after you beat the second game if you do get the collection; it is a great game that takes what worked in Sly 1/2 and perfects it :).

It seems that the DD-only release of R&C in NA was for the best: european retail version of R&C 2 is riddled with crash problems.

Digital version is fine. There are multiple reports about both (luckily I got the DD version)

Though that makes me wonder why they released it in europe...

Well the Digital version of the game also crashes to (very rarely though; only happened once in Ratchet 2 and twice in Ratchet 3), the crashing was too bad for EU to justify the cost of printing retail carts for NA. I guess they made the carts before the issue started popping up? That is the only reason I can see Sony just release the game in that state in EU :l.

I'm afraid it is :(
it's never too late for anything

What...that's not why there was no retail cart in NA. also retail versions would have showed up on retailers before it even released in EU but they never did.

Thanks for the in depth answer, it sure convinced me to give it a shot when it comes up.

I was loving Sly 1 on Vita, until I got to this damn Murray top-down race mini game I need to beat to progress and literally cannot win. :(

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question :/. But I need to know it. So I'm going to ask it anyway ;D.

I was wondering. Is there a in-game bonus in SDR2 if you have a save data of DR1?

Why does the "add to cart" button disappear on the PS Store whenever I log in? Any ideas?

Seriously I tried it on both Chrome and Safari on Mac.

If I am logged out, the browser shows an "add to cart" button. But when I log back in the add to cart button is gone and the item is not in my cart... Tried changing many many different combinations of settings too with no success.... Sony doesn't want me to buy anything.

Not sure if there was one in the Japanese version of DR1&2 Reloaded. But on the PSP if you had a DR1 save, in SDR2 you'd get 100 monocoins right from the start. But that was about it.

I noticed the same problem today. No idea why. Was trying to queue the PS4 version of hotline miani. Shows Add Cart but when I log in Add Cart is gone.

Counterspy is good, just need to do something during the level load...like what I'm doing now.

Crimsonland was awesome, going to play it after this, beat it on Normal yesterday.

Yeah the online chat person told me to try again later. Something about their servers being overloaded because of too many people trying to access their store.

Heard the game was a no frills port job on ps4 and xbone (unlike the latest Dynasty Warriors and upcoming Samurai Warriors game).

Hey Gaffers, I'm looking for help and this is the best place

Is there any good Robotech game on PS3? Google is very confusing with the Macross games and all, but we, my brother and I, are looking for a Robotech game. Hopefully with at least english subs.

Thank you!

Hey guys, anyone been having connection issues with Killzone: Mercenary? I can play most online games just fine, but for some reason this one's giving me trouble lately.

Edit: nvm, I think I know what the problem is.

SAO is so disgustingly addictive, even without having seen the anime. I've played a little over 5 hours, did some quests, max ranked Lisbeth, and only just cleared the first floor of Aincrad. Lots of neat stuff to do. Feels like it's going to be a *long* game.

Did I not say that it was a good game, and everyone laughed? Sigh. I played it since the day I got it 3 months ago up until today, I've got close to 90hrs of playtime on the Asian Version.

They weren't laughing at you. They were laughing at the terrible localization.

To be fair, it was expected of the Asian version, heck, the "penetration" lines still get me every time I boot it up and go through the story missions. Now the EU/US branches dun goofed on the localization... It's sad because the game is quite excellent. Can't remember sinking this many hours into any game and enjoying doing it in a good while.

I'm still in town maxing all the heroine's friendship levels and unlocking their stat outfits haha. Haven't even taken on the first boss yet :/
