PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

I like this new trend of first party Vita releases being $40 at retail
It's too bad there might not be any after Freedom Wars

I find it odd though, if a first party Vita game is $40 in retail here it'll be $32.95 digitally. Similarly Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z and One Piece Unlimited World Red were 60/70 dollars here and yet the digital prices for them were both $47.95 and yet Soul Sacrifice Delta was more than $40 despite being a digital only release and Sword Art Online is $60 despite being a digital only release. Never thought i'd see retail presence making the digital version of a game cheaper.

And now, we know nothing about what they're working on.
I really need to get back into Muramasa and finish up the DLCs sometime, the 4th one looks like it's gonna be a good finisher.

Is there any info yet on how big the download of Neptunia Re;Birth will be? After SAO's 3GB I need to solve my memory card problem somehow :/ I planned on getting it retail till I just remembered that EU will have it digital only :(

Should i buy neptunia rebirth? I love jrpgs I already own p4g and I was looking for some crazy ass jrpg . sounds like neptunia. Never played the series before.

Cant you import the game?

Exactly. I believe it doesn't have noteworthy DLC like the original PS3 game.

Oh yeah I suppose I could do that though can anyone lend me a hand as to where? I usually used Play-Asia but lately I'm more and more hit with customs that are half the price of the games I order :/ I guess there's Amazon.com but has anybody experience on how the shipping and customs situation is with there now towards the EU? Last time I ordered something was around 2011 or so.

I never imported something from Amazon US by myself, but the last time somebody told me, the shipping took about 4 days.

Play-Asia and Estarland are the ones I use.

I normally use videogameplus.ca for all my US imports (note that some games are Canadian versions with French and English text on the back cover). They charge 7,50 CDN for shipping to Europe which is approximately 5,15€. They normally mark down the package and I therefore haven't been hit by customs until now. Delivery normally takes one week for me (Germany).

Thanks for all the help both of you! :) 4 days sounds great if the shipping prices are alright so I have to check on that. And hmm could you point me to Estarland? Google fails me right now D:

I can't, it's blocked on my connection right now. Amazon US will collect customs tax beforehand, that's why I don't use them, because where I live, there's always a chance it might not get taxed.

Japanese version is 2679MB, so with English voices it'll probably be around 3GB. If you do import, you won't be able to use the Plutia, Peashy, and Histoire character DLC.

Refresh my memory:
Soul Reaver 1 can be transfered from PS3 to Vita and be played that way right?
EDIT: I have a US PSN account.

Hmm that does sound good, I will consider it thanks! :D

Ah okay so there are chances that I might or might not get hit with them same as with Play-Asia :/

Oh dear that doesn't sound like the best situation either, I have to think things through then :/ Thanks for the info!

2014 continues to be a bad year for my wallet. The beginning was already packed with games, many of which I already skipped and now the same is happening again with Xilia 2, Fairy Fencer F, Neptunia Re;Birth, SAO, Akiba, Hyrule Warriors, Warriors Orochi 3, Danganronpa 2, Ar Nosurge and god knows what I'm forgetting.

If 2015 goes on like this then something something second job and hyperbolic time chamber. I mean I'm happy we suddenly get so many localizations and all but there's no way anyone can afford and play them all. Normally I would opt to just get them later but Japanese niche games go so quickly out of print here in Germany :(

Play-Asia also emits the label with only 50% of the real price on the package, which might help even further, so that if you do get hit by customs, it'll be for only 50%.

Hmm that's interesting, maybe I just got unlucky the last few times then. Especially when I imported Shinovi Versus I paid 45€ for the game, 10€ shipping and 20€ customs which was less than stellar :/

The LE. the game looks pretty good as an action game
the LE contents don't seem very good though
It's the only physical version of the game XSeed is releasing, and it's going to be a limited print run too. Unless you're fine with getting it digitally, I'd hold onto the preorder.

I don't know how things are in your country, but for some time, it was cheaper to buy the games locally than paying "game + shipping + customs tax".

Well I should hope it's cheaper to buy locally but at that time Shinovi Versus wasn't even set for a translation :/

I guess Vita really sucks the power out of a USB port? I notice that anything plugged adjacent to the USB port of my Vita has problems with power. My mouse can't remain connected and my wifi dongle sometimes drops. I unplugged my Vita and they become OK.

My 16gb card finally ran out of space. I'm so sad. £45 for a 32gb is obscene when you can get SD cards for £10.

I suppose I have to delete Soul Sacrifice...

3076 MB.

Which 1 or 2 of these 3 would you pick? DanganRonpa 1, Sword Art Online, or Tales of Xillia 2? I need a new JRPG!

Danganronpa is pretty short, though amazing. Have only played a bit of SAO. Did you play ToX1? If so, you might as well continue the story for that one if you enjoyed the first.

hmmm it becoming rare is what is interesting.
I'm full digital on Vita anyway haha

Xillia is the only one that is really a JRPG and has gotten pretty good reviews (often said it's better than Xillia, which I personally liked). The SAO translation looks so hilariously bad I can't personally recommend it.

Just got a PS4 and PS+. Does anyone know when do new games come out on PS+ each month? Thanks!

First Tuesday of the month now (I think). Either way, they're all made available at the same time, so you'll have a few options at once. Make sure you download the current games as well.

Danganronpa isn't an RPG. Not a huge Tales fan, but SAO is great fun for me so far. Yes the localisation is a bit rubbish but the gameplay is fantastic.

Can't talk about Xillia 2, but I'm liking SAO so far, the combat is very nice when you get the hang of it, but even if it is not a "proper" JRPG, DanganRonpa is the best for me still. Shorter than the other two and more like mix of Persona relationships (on a lower scale) + Ace Attorney cases.

Finally I was looking for this thread all day...

Guys im going to get 20 euro PSN credit..

Whats the best stuff to buy????

Any cool games? Already bought Trials and 1001 spikes!

The writing is the main highlight of re;birth imo

The rest....ehhh

But I will say, the dungeons are a step up from the bland ones you'll find in purse owner. But that's not saying much

So you'll get your crazy ass jrpg, in the form of a strong localization

It seems that the DD-only release of R&C in NA was for the best: european retail version of R&C 2 is riddled with crash problems.

Digital version is fine. There are multiple reports about both (luckily I got the DD version)

Though that makes me wonder why they released it in europe...
