Maybe because it's more of a team, the dog and the duck(s). In that case Duck Hunt would make more sense.

The only F-Zero character that I would want, other than Captain Falcon, is Jody Summer. She looks a like a racer. She looks like she could belong alongside Captain Falcon. Thematically, she represents F-Zero well. Plus, she's another female.
I'm counting the DLC characters as being cut, unless it's revealed that they'll be free.
So his laugh isn't a taunt, it's his whistle?

I like Pikachu fine as a Pokemon, but I can't stand him in Smash. He's such a pain to fight against (I'm surprised he's this low on the list, though.)

So if the leak is correct and Olimar has an Alph alternate skin, it makes me wonder why they didn't do some minor stat tweaks and just make another clone and give Pikmin some additional content.

Well if we do consider them cut, Brawl cut out Mewtwo, Dr. Mario, Pichu, and Roy, so it's only a couple more characters who were cut than Brawl.

Pikachu (Japanese: ピカチュウ Pikachu) is an Electric-type Pokémon. It evolves from Pichu when leveled up with high friendship and evolves into Raichu when exposed to a Thunder Stone. One of its Pokedex entries reads as follows: It stores electricity in the electric sacs on its cheeks. When it releases pent-up energy in a burst, the electric power is equal to a lightning bolt. Outside of the core games, Pikachu is the mascot of the entire series and by far the most recognizable Pokemon. pikachu's a character that i've enjoyed playing as a lot every game but play as surprisingly little for whatever reason

These are some really nice observations about minute details that someone would have to pay attention to while making fake things because it could easily elude you.
For further context, the other image posted earlier:
The 'leaked' menu there on the right side matches up with these details nicely, except for the buttons being the same as another sub-menu. Does this mean it's real? Nope. Does this mean it's fake? Well also no, we haven't seen these menus and they could certainly be similar in design. As Berordn said this doesn't prove or disprove anything, but it is interesting for menu design enthusiasts!

Pikachu's fun to play as, with his speed and surprising power, it's just very annoying to fight when in the hands of an amateur. Down-B's all day from them. That's why I use Game & Watch or the PK duo to mess with them. Thanks for healing me/charging my projectile counter!

Hey guys! So Oric's character poll is fantastic and I bet I'm not the only one looking forward to each veteran reveal on that list; how about we have some avatar bets to make the ending to the list even more exciting? >=]
SkullHydra and I were going to have an avatar bet based on the top 5 characters in Oric's poll, but we're gonna make it open for anyone to join and let's make it for the top 10. Basically, you'll earn points for guessing the proper characters (2 points, let's say per character) and potentially more for their correct positions (1 point for 10th place, 2 for 9th, and so on until 10 points for 1st place). As demonstrated by Jiggly and Diddy, ties may occur in the poll. To keep things simple, no bonus points are given for ties (since that would mean more than 10 character guesses per participant) but the ties themselves offer a greater possibility for your characters to be picked!
How many victors will be decided on and how they will dish out new avatars will be dependent on how many participate, and we can discuss it as the contest proceeds.
If you want to participate, PM me your character picks and their positions in the format I specify with my picks below. You are free to post your choices up in the thread too for all to see, but I can't guarantee that I'll see them and add them to the spreadsheet I'm making for this.
Let's make the deadline for this the moment the Monday PotD is posted.

This is the main reason I hate Pikachu in Smash.
Good luck trying to recover when there's a Pikachu standing on the edge.
I didn't even realise he was linking to arrangements all this time, I was skipping over the links because I assumed they were just the characters' actual victory themes.
...I'll have to go back and see what he chose now.
