Just bought the episodes but Amazon has crashed, as well as the Korra tag on Tumblr.

EDIT: Ok, finally able to watch. Will try to post reactions in an orderly fashion...

Starts off immediately with the preview clip.

I'll be writing more elaborate posts but for now

Korra S3 finale part 1
bobAokj.gif

EDIT: what the fuck! the episodes have been pulled from Amazon PS4!

So I caved and bought it on Amazon only to be greeted with the lovely error 5000. God this is why I hate Amazon's service, I've tried buying videos in the past and the same exact thing happened.

As cool as episode 12 is so far, I'm noticing a huge downgrade in animation quality since the last episode. Kinda hindering my enjoyment so far. :(

Part 1:

GOD DAMN! The way they killed off Zaheer's girlfriend was brutal.

It's about damn time an airbender tried flying.

There a reason Korra hasn't used the Avatar state against Zaheer?

Bolin lavabending was probably the driest thing this show has done.

ummm....so Kuveera's definitely gonna be an important character later on.

I would love it if they killed Korra just like that. Would make things REALLY interesting.

So, being someone has thought season 3 to be fantastic overall, the finale does not disappoint.

Loved it.

So many highlights. Need to rewatch. For now I sleep.

Ugh, the damn player is crashing on me at the beginning of final part.

A moment of silence for:

The Northern Air Temple

and

P'li

EDIT: Oh

My

God.

Halfway through Venom of the Red Lotus... Dat battle, that bending. Legend of Korra redeemed.

*nod nod*

i think p'li going down is my favorite part . . so unexpected, what a bad ass mooooveeeee . . then again, there's so much to love . . ugh I can't sleep haha

oooh strike that MASSIVE FINALE PART 2 SPOILERS

mako's lightning hit me the hardest. should have seen it coming, but when it happened, FUCK YES x10000

YEA, THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL: FOR THOU ART WITH ME; THY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY COMFORT ME

So . . speculation going forward

*spoilers yall like for real*

Why do you think she was crying? After seeing Amon and all her bad guys revealed as one, no more connection to her past lives etc etc you think she's ready to be done? Does not seem like she's happy. Fuckity fuck I can't wait for 4.

Not killing Zaheer is going to cause some problem in Season 4.

rip in piece Jinora's hair

Yeah...kinda mad about that. I liked her hair.

When Tenzin was about to pull off the hood, I half expected it to be Kai instead of Jinora. Also, where was Kai in the ceremony?

Am I the only one that didn't mind the Lion Turtle? Sure, it kinda came out of nowhere, but it was nice to show one final spirit beast that would end up helping Aang in is most urgent time of need.

Also the kiss is way creepy.

Are you talking about the kiss between Aang and Katara?

Legend of Korra Season 3 Finale: Parts 1 and 2

Somebody in the thread earlier said with all the hype the creators and those that had seen the finale were giving to it that maybe it would redeem The Legend of Korra in the eyes of many. I bit my thumb at this fellow avatar fan, said it would take a lot to redeem the show that not even a solid third season could do. Because we all know what happened in season 1 when the finale came.

Well my friends. Hang on to your sexy butts because you're about to see something that happens rarely (aka all the time): I was wrong in my assessment. This season, and this two parter finale specifically, has redeemed Korra in my eyes. I remember when I first watched the trailers and the gifs of Mako fighting water tentacle chick and I was getting hyped but worried. Well that is no longer the case. Legend of Korra season 3 finale was amazing, even if the solid season had some writing issues as a whole.

Where do I begin (without spoiling much)? The fighting choreography and animation. I mean the show has had some amazing fights but you ain't got shit on some of the stuff in this episode. We had Lin being awesome. We had Tonraq being awesome. We had Suyin being awesome. And most importantly for me, and I cannot stress this enough because you guys have seen my posts here we had Mako and Bolin being awesome. I cannot begin to tell you the satisfaction of seeing these two
fighting their rematches against tentacle girl and lava dude
and being absolutely great. Bolin in particular had his shit-fest this entire show, and particularly this season, redeemed when he
discovered he is a lava bender and telling him how he has learned some new tricks since last time
. Man oh man thank you writers, I've been waiting for that for so long. They even somehow learned that Bolin's style of cocky humor works best when in tense situations and/or in battles.

Another thing that definitely surprised me in the direction these writers took the show is what they decided to do with the Red Lotus
I mean not only did the big bad four get picked off and killed in particularly gruesome ways, Zaheer aside, but they were willing to mercury poison the avatar which is really fucked up. But the way P'li died was really messed up. I'm surprised they went there. Suyin did that, and it was awesome
.

Mako is somebody else that was redeemed alongside Bolin this episode. I mean previous romantic drama aside, he and Bolin had an issue of getting their asses kicked too often to the point Mama Korra had to save everybody all the time.
But on his fight against the tentacle chick, when everything seemed lost, he remembers he can lightning bend and just SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SHOCKS THE BASS and that's a death. Mako just killed her and gave zero fucks, that was awesome

Finally Korra. I'm glad the finale decided to go for the route where
she was willing to sacrifice herself for the air nation
. When she
entered the avatar state and was fighting Zaheer amidst the towers of earth/rock, and the way she fought
I got huge flashbacks of ATLA during the
Aang vs Ozai
fight to the point I'm sure the reference was on purpose. Seeing her
depressed, broken down and on a wheel chair at the end was a bit heart breaking, especially as she sheds a tear during Jinora's tattoo ceremony when the air nation promises to help keep peace and order around the world
. The fact that the writers decided to not
have Korra fight and defeat all of the big bad 4
was a move I'm extremely glad the writers decided not to take. It's almost like they were listening to all the complaints about The Legend of Korra.

I'm sad that
Zaheer's crew is largely dead except for Zaheer and maybe lava dude, though it is heavily implied he died
but them's the breaks. I guess that next season
we'll have the Avatar recuperating from her mercury poisoning plus fighting red lotus members

And for the folks of the Korrasami ship
sadly nothing concrete happened but you get your friendship commentary at the end which I'm sure you'll twist into shipping material :P

I promised little spoiler tags, but it was hard to contain myself. It was that amazing of a finale. Sure there are some issues, but over-all like 95% it was pure solid blocks of awesome. I spent 6 bucks to watch this HD on amazon, and it was 6 bucks incredibly well spent.

Well done writers you have redeemed Korra.

And also Htown
better get that crow ready to eat my friend

Legend of Korra season 3 gets an over-all score of 8.5/10

But the Legend of Korra season 3 finale gets a 9.5/10. Not necessarily in writing, just in pure unadulterated awesome righteousness to please fans.

Well I'm not going to read Admiral Woofington's giant post, the earlier spoilers were vague enough that I still have a lot to look forward to (woo #team
alive......
)

I know some people love going into stuff blind, but I dunno. I think back to like Dragonball Z when the show was playing on Cartoon Network, but everyone knew the major events ahead of time since it had finished internationally before the English dub, and knowing "this is the episode Goku becomes a Super Saiyan!" (as an example) would always get me that much more hyped up for it. So just the few things I've spoiled myself on are getting me excited.

And now the smash thread is closed.

Guess I'm just going to rewatch the finale while I wait

That's right some of you, I'll have seen it twice before you've seen it once

*enters the void*

So . . speculation going forward

*spoilers yall like for real*

Why do you think she was crying? After seeing Amon and all her bad guys revealed as one, no more connection to her past lives etc etc you think she's ready to be done? Does not seem like she's happy. Fuckity fuck I can't wait for 4.

My guess, is that
she is still depressed that she is in the state that she is after the battle. She was willing to sacrifice her life for this, but now she's stuck in a wheel chair and while I'm sure she'll recuperate you need to understand that many people who become handicapped in a tragic accident like this it is extremely hard. She is the Avatar, she's supposed to take care of the world and instead the people around her need to take care of her. Look at Lin having to do the handicap friendly stair thing. She was trying to smile for Jinora's thing, but when Tenzin talked about the air benders having no way of expressing their gratitude for Korra for all she has done for Air Nation and giving her the promise of their world policing, I think that single tear escaped from all of the pent up emotions she's trying to hide about her current state

edit: welp I gotta get some sleep lol. When I wake up tomorrow at the crack of noon I'll be expecting some great posts and discussion in this thread. Looking forward to that.

Well, just finished.

The Legend of Korra everybody. Finally, the first part of that name has meaning.

Dying to see Book 4 since i
t's obvious the Red Lotus is not finished yet, and the Earth Kingdom is in tatters.

But
the Air Nomads are stronger than they've ever been since their genocide, are prepared to take a larger role in world affairs like they used to, and Jinora was a big reason why.
So happy.

The battles, the resolution, the character development.

Book 4 can't come soon enough.

Well that ending certainly was...something

Was not as tragic as I wanted it to be, don't know about you guys but I kind of wanted to see Korra die.

They can't really have a show called The Legend of Korra where Korra dies before the legend is over.
Still I didn't like how fast it all went by, one second Zaheer is killing Korra, then they Capture Zaheer, then Korra 'dies', but she is brought back to life, then they're on Air Temple Island.

Just did not like the pacing and how it pretty much just ended.

theres a heartbeat in the distance
a flicker of light ahead
ive been down the street where they offer the deals
ive shaken hands with the man who says he'll give me my dreams
reaching up for a taste from the hand that feeds

i feel it growin from a whisper
to a shout and a fist in the air
i could smell the fire from miles away
but i was always gonna run after the chase
i didnt leave you i just went my own way

i know ive been here before
it must have been years or more
like the first day i got off of the plane
and nobody cared to know of my name
i think ive been here

im going to be
SICK!
why do this to me jesus? what did i ever do to you????

What? The pacing seemed excellent for me, honestly. Somethings I didn't like, but I'm analyzing them right now and I realize it's mostly my crazy expectations for something else, but the real thing was just as good, if not better.
