Speaking of which this reminds me, zaheer ain't dead yet! They could interrogate him lol.
Didn't they already interrogate him for 16 years? Anyway all the info he was hiding (red lotus) is now all out in the open.

Though I'm curious to see how that one metal clan member will be intergrated Into season 4. I forgot her name, but the beifongs were all like, "nah we need you to stay here".

They interrogated him about the organization. I doubt they reamed him on his bending prowess. Edit: since he didn't have bending until recently.

Yea Zelda Williams character was suspect. And did y'all hear that ominous as fuck music when she said her name. Girl is supa evil

Heh. Didn't even know she was the va. Was wondering why they felt the need to introduce her like that. When she said her name I was like okay?? Back to the fight plz.

The way they introduced her with all the mayhem going on... I suspected her to jump in to help Zaheer in the final battle.
But I guess we will learn more about her in season 4 since they gave her a name.

She's a Red Lotus double agent I'm calling it now.

I could definitely see that especially after that ominous music as she introduced herself. But then again why would she save Tonraq from falling to his death if she is part of Red Lotus.

Suppose we'll have to wait till Book 4 to find out.

Do you think the creators would be ballsy enough to kill off an important character this next season? It is the final one right? Maybe Asami? Dunnow why but I kinda feel like Lin's time is about to end. Who knows maybe even Zelda Williams character delivers the final blow to her.

If its anyone its going to be Katara or Zuko as its not like they're young anymore.
Doubt they'd go and kill off anyone from the main group.

So how long do we have to wait for the next season? I sure hope it won't be as long as last time.

Should maybe get some information about Book 4 at the New York Comic Con as they usually have a panel there.
The Comic Con starts 9th October.

Just for the book: I still bet on Opal being in the Red Lotus, at least an willing aide to them or is part of another antagonist agenda. I am ready to do a avatar bet.

Duh, because she was waiting for the good guys to kill Zaheer so she can take over the Red Lotus herself.

Seriously though, before knowing about Zelda Williams, I thought something would happen with her. My best guess was she was going to sacrifice herself somehow. Now I think she was just a cameo.

Asami? Important character? Good one.

Asami? Important character? Good one.

I must say that the alchemy between Aang and his friends was better than the one with Korra, Bolin, Mako and Asami. It doesn't mean that Korra's characters are less interesting, just that they don't really appeal to me in the same way. Also, Asami went slowly but surely out of focus: I don't think Sokka ever was this much relegated to the background.

Bolin just can't win can he?

The World hates Bolin :(
Don't worry he still has a icequee- chieftain waiting for him.
Whatever happened to them, btw? Did they just say that they wouldn't be of any use and went home?

LOK's problem is the lack of time with so much to focus on. We have the Krew, but we also have Tenzin. In season 2 we had a lot of time dedicated to his family problems and in season 3 we had much invested in the new airbenders. Not saying that it was bad, but it took time the Krew could've used to develop. Definitly packing time and space here.

Yeah. They've been focusing way too much on Mako and Bolin, they just haven't been compelling characters for a long time. They need to increase the bond between Asami and Korra because some of the most enjoyable interactions were between them at the start of the season.

They should add another female character to the crew that isn't Opal - mainly because Opal has been super flat and not very interesting. Maybe add the tough Zelda Williams metal bender to the crew?

I hope we don't see more of Mako and Bolin's family. Especially the grandma. "I DONT WANT TO LEAVE MY HOUSE" "but you and your 20 family members will burn to death horrifically in about 30 seconds" "I DONT CARE I DUN WANNA LEMME GIT THE PICTURE"

Worst character. Stupidity was passed down to Bolin.

Falling for Anihawk´s trolling: Lol.

I don´t mind that Zaheer learned how to fly, but to have such control over his flight pattern after he just learned it is a bit iffy to me. Of course it the last 2 episodes and there was no time to learn how to maneuver during flight.

Hey! She is still growing! Why would you focus on that D:

Similiar to Bolin. They just level up and know how to use it. Which is sad.

He cracks cringeworthy jokes and wears an invisible fedora. So yes.
You put a sock in it >:(

Guess they have to stay with their respective tribe to clear up all the shit their father created. Honestly, I'm still surprised they're in that position.

Hey man, I loved Bolin in season 1. Whoever is in charge of his writing and character development needs to be slapped in the face. All of his jokes and dialogue are painful and unfunny most of the time, it has a very strong sense that whoever is writing him is trying REALLY HARD but failing miserably.

He's just become super pathetic and unlikable. His whole hitting on Opal thing was cringeworthy and that "I literally put a sock in it" in the finale made me groan out loud it was so bad. Even Opal's face is like..."ugh classic Bolin" ("oh my god what the fuck did I get myself into with this tool").

I wouldn't be surprised if he struggles with lava bending next season because he just deflected it and stopped it in these last eps but never generated it? Would be in line with how they've been treating him.

They better do something interesting with him like pair him up with Toph next season. Maybe do :"Your jokes are terrible. You remind me of someone I cared about long ago." And then go from there.

... That's tough to watch. Korra suffered like crazy in all of these 3 seasons. It has finally taken its toll. Also,
mercury poisoning
is something pretty serious: I'm not sure she can really recover from that.

Sooo if Korra doesn't have access to her past lives anymore what's the point of the Avatar State?

Super-powered mode in which she is at the top of her strenght? But yeah, even with that, the Avatar State is no longer as powerful as before. When Aang used it against Ozai, it was an amazing display of power and mastery. In the finale, it was just Korra filled with rage, with a small power-up, but it was very wild, without control, and definitly less powerful than Aang's.

I read the wikipedia for it and found:
"Many of the toxic effects of mercury are partially or wholly reversible, either through specific therapy or through natural elimination of the metal after exposure has been discontinued"

It says long term permanent effects are for long duration, but skewed towards babies and children.

I'm guessing Korra will take an ep or two to recover. I also don't know why people assume she's paralyzed, she's just too weak to walk.

Korra really is an awful avatar. Got her ass kicked by random nobodies, couldn't use her avatar state for the longest time, then lost her past lives, now dying of mercury poisoning. Worthless.

Yeah, good point actually. They helped their father for the most part and even that aside, they may be good fighters, but I somewhat doubt that they're good leaders.

Don't need a flashlight in the dark.
Also super power. Somehow.

Are you sure?

I thought it was just tapping into Rava's power and combining it with her own? I thought it just allows the avatar to perform extraordinary feats and to bend multiple elements simultaneously, and energy bend. And in Aang's case a few times, summon a past life to temporarily take over his body (Kyoshi and Roku).

Calling to past lives was just purely for accessing past memory and conversing with past lives, I don't think it boosts the avatar state's power at all.

And Korra was poisoned with heavy metal and on the brink of death and still able to do all of that crazy stuff...I don't see how Aang v. Ozai was more impressive.

I thought it was just tapping into Rava's power and combining it with her own? Does more past lives = more power, or just more knowledge/zen-ness? Because Korra was poisoned with heavy metal and on the brink of death and still able to do all of that crazy stuff...

Kinda forgot about the poison when talking about the Avatar State and that I neglected Rava's raw power, I admit. Still, I always figured power and mastery came with the Avatar State, and I don't remember Korra using all 4 elements at the same time and pulling crazy moves like Aang, thus why I consider that she was definitly less powerful than Aang in Avatar State (but once again, yeah, forgot about the poison). I suggest you should rewatch the fight against Ozai.
I guess that in the end we are both right for different reasons.

Yeah. Aang's simultaneous bending was really impressive, but...

I think that the fact that she was poisoned/near death and was in the Avatar state reflexively because her body was failing drastically rather than in complete control and healthy like Aang was when he fought Ozai makes her performance a little more impressive.

She did some crazy shit in that fight. She was fire bending iron man repulsors while spinning and ripped a chunk of a mountain and threw it at Zaheer without pausing.

Exactly. Her body entered the Avatar State in order to fight the poison within it, so she couldn't commit 100% of her power to fighting Zaheer without completely succumbing to the poison. I think Aang Vs Korra stuff is ridiculous though, they are both very different characters and intentionally so.

What a great finale anyway. Great way to finish off a great season.

Bolin is the worst thing about this show now. The show continues to molest him even though he's been dead since mid-season 1.
Aside from that, this past season is the most mature the show has aspired to since the Wan saga.

Even after ATLA is over, Sokka just keeps being funny.

My two cents on lava bending.

Lava is melted rock. It is the same as bending ice, different temperatures or fire, or hot/cold air. Considering how dangerous Lava is, and is found in a volcano, most Earth bender wouldn't think looking for it to try bending it. Also, since Lava is a liquid, it moves away from the standard head-on smash your opponent style for a more flowing waterbending style, which is probably why it is so rare and we have only seen Avatars go it until now.

Still doesn't answer why she didn't enter avatar state 6 episodes earlier though.

So now we have multiple sub-schools for each element.

Air:
Flight
Spirit Projection

Earth:
Metalbending
Lavabending

Fire:
Lightning
Combustion

Water:
Bloodbending
Plantbending

I wonder if we'll see more as time goes on.

Considering a skilled firebender can fly too, Fire seems a bit OP. Though anytime mental bloodbending is so broken, devs need to patch.

My DVR hasn't taped an episode of this for a while now (2 or 3 weeks?). Was it supposed to? I just felt like this show was taking a break or something. Has it been new these past few weeks and my DVR just felt like it had enough?

I still don't understand Lavabending. I get Metalbending and Bloodbending, but shouldn't Lavabending require a mixture of Fire and Earthbending? It'd make more sense for the Avatar to be able to do it. How can an Earthbender do it?

The show's been taken off the air for a few weeks now. Nick wasn't happy with the ratings so they now only put episodes on Nick.com. Season 4 will be like this too.

The same way that a waterbender can turn water to steam or ice. It's about controlling the heat within the element.

Just finished the season and......

they addressed some issues with the past season (love triangle) and in the process created new ones, really unbalanced and ridiculous characterisations. There are times when the comedy feels forced *cough* Bolin *cough*

The intentions of the Red Lotus are really ambiguous and vague; are Libertarians really that violent?

the episode that left me most unsatisfied was the ep with Lin and her Sister, that resolution felt rushed and unearned. And after learning
that Lin's sister was responsible for her scar, I just can't bring myself to forgive her,
which in a way is good, it means I really like Lin, even though she, like many of the characters were really under-utilised.
#An speaking of Under-utilised, Lord Zuko,
Was so excited to see him and he does literally nothing

But overall it was a decent season, better than the last one, the fight scenes were top notch and well choreographed with actual tension.

Overall, as an avatar Korra still really underwhelms me, she may have become more humble now, but she isnt likeable, she is not as strong as past avatars through her own doing. I mean she gets captured A LOT.

And shout out to Tenzen, he held his own against Red lotus at the air temple, mad respect.

EDIT- this is a show that cud benefit from a 20+ ep season like the ATLA, flesh out the characters more, instead of having them be reactionary to theor circumstances because the writers only have 12 eps to squeeze them in
