Enjoyed the finale.
Holy shit though.

I literally said "Holy FUCK" When Jinora pulled off her hood and she had no hair. O_O!.

I knew it was coming, but I didn't realize how much like Aang she'd look like. It was some Ember Island Players level shit.
not amazing but it was still fun seeing korras running around (also had a few more there just didn't get picks and my wife says she saw a mako or two)
Did anyone else get a weird romance feeling between Tenzin and that lady from the Metal clan? Right after the kid rescues Tenzin and gang with his baby Bison.

Just watched Aang solo Yakone.
Then got really mad again because Korra severed the link to the past Avatars.
Worst Avatar ever.
That really still upsets me.
http://poopbuttpantsbluerg.tumblr.c...-really-liked-that-in-the-last-few-moments-ofI really liked that, in the last few moments of the finale, the only people to make Korra smile were the kids

You mean Tonraq right? Tenzin really didn't interact with her.

It's gonna really suck for the next Avatar, if they need any Avatar guidance, they will only have Korra to turn to.
yes Tonraq, my bad. That was odd to me.

Guys, Guys! Let's get even more depressing
What if?
Korra never heals and just becomes worse and worse through out the next season until she finally just dies?
isn't that like getting mad at Aang for being shot with lightning by Azula?
Man, the more I watch of this show the more it disappoints. There were some solid moments in the finale, but I feel like Korra is such a weak avatar. She loses every fight she's in, and only comes through when someone else comes to her aid. She never goes into the avatar form, and even when she does she gets beat by a dude that learned to air bend a week ago.
It's been a while since I've seen Aang's season, but I feel like his conflicts were written so much better. He wasn't losing every fight he was in, and when he popped the avatar form he got shit done.
Every one of Korra's fights are all the same: Have a elemental fight on the ground, lose, turn into avatar form and have a bigger fight, lose again, friend comes and saves the day.
i hope asami dies next book like really early on so i can let go my earthly tether, enter the void, then empty and become wind

I expect Asami to die the episode after Korrasami is confirmed for being real.
Legend of korra season 3 episode 1+2

That was actually really good!
I'm honestly kind of disappointed that they didn't kill Korra off. With a book title like Change, that would have fit in real well. Either way, I hope Korra stays wheelchair bound and we just get the Jinora show. I mean, they dressed her up like Aang for a reason, right?
Speaking of, those two fights were so damn reminiscent of the fights at the end of Book 2 & 3 of TLA, if only just aesthetically.
Also, random character being named with ominous music is an obvious is a set up for next season.
Really? The show is called The Legend of Korra.
Honestly, the number of people hoping that she dies or remains incapacitated genuinely makes me feel uncomfortable.
Even if a person dies, the legend can still live on.Really? The show is called The Legend of Korra.

I don't see why someone's legacy can't also be a part of their legend.
I can understand though why that might make you uncomfortable because it's something different. I, for one, grow tired of the "we're back again at 100% and ready for the next big threat" stories and would like to see the hero get set aside in order for someone else to take their place.

Eh, you don't need Game of Thrones for that.Game of Thrones is that way
Wanting "something different" and wanting to see a character die after they were already tortured and left severely injured are two completely different things.
Never mentioned that I wanted to see Korra die, but good on you for continually trying to insinuate that I have some psychological issues or whatever because a fictional character lived where I don't think they probably should have from a story standpoint. What I did say was that I was disappointed that she didn't die as that's where the story was taking me before it instead went "nope, did you know this poison has metal? oh look, a metalbender."
Regardless, it seems they are changing the formula somewhat. Which is why I do hope she remains incapable for at least a large portion of time in the next season and develop off of that because if not, then I'll be upset that they did everything they did in this season only to not do something special with it.
Loved the finale. Seeing Zaheer fly was amazing, was not disappointed at all when they looked over the cliff and saw him levitating just above the clouds...looked amazing. It was horrifying but awesome at the same time, you know? Laughed at how fast he was over Combustion Lady's head popping death (go Suyin!).
Korra's breakout scene was godly. Ghazan's face when she blows back the lava was perfectly pants shitting. I was sad to see him die actually, after their chummy conversation I thought he might redeem himself somehow by teaching Bolin the nuances of lava bending, but oh well. Liked the VA for Ghazan too, he sounds like a character from Skyrim.
I said out loud, "You stupid fuck." when Mako dropped into the watery sub-cavern chasing Ming Hua. Thankfully, he remembered how to shoot lighting haha.
I cringed when Suyin was pulling the metal from Korra. I thought to myself surely she's just had her insides rearranged. The ending was magnificent. Cueball Jinora made me laugh in a feel good sort of way. Poor Korra though, she just can't get a break lol.
Great finale! I don't understand the confusion about lava bending, was very obvious that Ghazan was swirling the earth fast enough for it to heat up and melt. If I remember correctly, do they not show this in detail the first time he does it? A bigger question is why can't metal benders lava bend. I was under the impression that metal heats up rather fast when it is bent and moulded, no? Anyway, can't wait for the 4th season, bring it on!
Eh, you don't need Game of Thrones for that.
ATLA had arcs within the big story and while the heroes eventually moved on form their locations, they grew along. Sometimes they took something physical, but every time experience, growth in strength and a bit of maturity. And even moving away from Avatar: Young Justice had some great character development and severe changes a long the way.
You mean Tonraq right? Tenzin really didn't interact with her.
Season 1 was in so many ways better than anything we saw in the last 2 seasons up until episode 8.
Mako with the lightning was a great move, loved how he pulled that out when he realized he was about to fall back into a disadvantageous position and took advantage of it. I know I reacted with a "Holy shit, yeah, there we go!" when he pulled it off and used it.
It feels like the whole season I've been hearing people complain about how they don't like it how Korra always has to save the day while the side characters are weak and useless and now all of a sudden people are complaining that she needed help?
I doubt Aang would have taken out Zaheer any quicker. He was pretty much running and dodging the whole time and that just dragged the fight on so the poison could take it's toll. Also, Korra was about to smash right though Zaheer if it wasn't for the poison.
I'm surprised people are critical of Korra for her work during the finale. She was fighting from positions of extreme disadvantage during it - first restrained by cuffs on wrists and ankles having handed herself over, then poisoned, baited and fatigued, then seriously injured but still fought them to a standstill.
Goddamn Jinora makes Aang look like a low achiever. I'm happy though - she was my favourite character in the early episodes of S1 before the show went off the rails. Airbending master.
There were a lot of callbacks to The Crossroads of Destiny in this finale (S2E20), my pick for best episode of the original show. It earned them. I was gripped the whole way through. Excellent animation and music, and a real sense of meaning in the battles and decisions. Some quick thinking and creativity too (Mako jumping up onto the rocks then using lightning just when spider-like Ming Hua was sure she had him in her web was an especially great twist).
