Or even a Masterpiece-like thing..I think the implication is that it's not a Gameboy stage, but a Kirby's Dream Land 1 stage.
Which would have been hinted at by Kirby and Dedede in their monochrome-ish colors.

I am passionate about Wolf D:
This stream made me realize how pretty boring the selection for 3DS stages is if the leak is true.
Also why does the Gameboy stage not use the Gameboy as a stage selection screen mrgrgr petty niggles
Well the Game and Watch stage in Brawl was a close up on what's on the screen rather than the machine itself. This stream made me realize how pretty boring the selection for 3DS stages is if the leak is true.

I find the Tomodachi Life stage icon odd myself. Since it's like Luigi's Mansion I would have thought they'd go for the full building shot again.
But I suppose that's not possible without a full building shot to base it off of.

The same reason that random stages in Brawl and Melee were off center in their pictures? Also, why is Yoshi's Island.. off-centered?

That's how it was in Brawl, just focused on the other side:
Missing the top and bottom. Luigi's Mansion's icon was more zoomed out.

Just because an entirely unrelated stage was zoomed out, doesn't mean the Tomadachi stage image has to be also.
All I'm saying is (if leak is real) I'm surprised that they wouldn't show the whole building as an icon rather than a zoom in on one room which isn't even a constant.Just because an entirely unrelated stage was zoomed out, doesn't mean the Tomadachi stage image has to be also.

Also that screenshot indicates there could be at least one more floor below. Look to the left, another stair case going down.

Yeah, this makes sense.
Why zoom in on a single room which changes every single match? It doesn't exactly represent the stage..

Especially since Luigi's mansion is kind of an iconic building. Tomodachi place? Not so much.Just because an entirely unrelated stage was zoomed out, doesn't mean the Tomadachi stage image has to be also.
Showing a specific combination of six rooms for a stage that changes every single match also doesn't represent the stage very wellYeah, this makes sense.

I don't think it's fake, but this reasoning is reaching so bad!Tomodachi life is more known for its rooms than for the exterior of the building, though.
Luigi's mansion was more known for the mansion itself, rather than individual rooms.
Only reason I'd really want it to be fake is to win a bet.BGBW wants it to be fake so bad.

It's not about representing the game, it's about representing the stage. The stage is the apartment building. Also guess how they show that in the game? As the complete building.Especially since Luigi's mansion is kind of an iconic building. Tomodachi place? Not so much.

What do you spend most of your time in Luigi's Mansion exploring? Rooms. Please explain? I don't think it's reaching that much at all.
Granted, it's all up to sakurai's whims anyway, so he could have done either thing, but tomodachi life's apartment building isn't nearly as iconic as luigi's mansion.
Only reason I'd really want it to be fake is to win a bet.
But then again the one who I think took it up (because they never confirmed it), HenryGale, only has 12 posts so my labour of love will hardly be seen in this thread which is basically a waste.
But hey, I'm willing to switch victims if you're so passionate about arguing that it is real.

Well, do you believe DKvine more?
Does he want it to be fake so bad
Or do other people want it to be real so bad?

Looks like a blob of brown pixels if you do it that way.
Going by the E3 demo, remember that the bottom screen has a big picture of your selected stage.
The stage is a series of randomized rooms, so in the game, they show it as a close up on one of the rooms. We didn't even see the building for months after the stage was revealed. You wouldn't show the rooms, you'd show the exterior (i.e when no one is over them)

But as long as you can distinguish the particular icon so you can recognize it quickly, and get a better view of the stage on the bottom screen, that's not really an issue, is it?
OK, I just saw this post and assumed by the title you wanted out.I had volunteered for that.
I may not be able to honor it immediately because I'm going to be in the middle of a move and internet access will be limited for me. If/when I lose PM me the avatar and when I get my bearings and steady internet access I'll put the avatar on.
Yeah, and both that mock up and the actual icon achieve that same purpose lolNo, but it makes for a boring icon.
What do you spend most of your time in Luigi's Mansion exploring? Rooms.
What do you spend most of your time in Tomodachi Life exploring. The whole island.
Your reasoning is opposite to the games themselves.
And I repeat, I'm just surprised by what I assumed would be the icon layout wasn't the case.
Lucina and Robin's for obvious reasons :3cSince we're here, what is everyone's favourite newcomer video and why?
Mine's either Little Mac's, because the cartoon style and hype music, or Robin/Lucina's because the FE art and the awesome music.
OK, I just saw this post and assumed by the title you wanted out.
They use the bottom screen to show a larger preview of the stage. This can be seen here. But Brawl also had a stage preview image on the left of the SSS (Stage Select Screen) which showed the insides of Luigi's Mansion when you highlight it while here, in Smash 4 3DS, as far as we can tell there isn't one like that.
I'm just surprised by what I assumed would be the icon layout wasn't the case.
Yeah, I hate that. I guess it's supposed to hide the fact that there are so many returning stages? It could also be that, unlike Melee and Brawl, the returning stages are "real" stages, and appear in Classic Mode, as we've seen with Jungle Japes.Another thing that kind of blows in the SSS, is the fact that Melee/Brawl stages are crammed together with original stages, which was never the case in any previous Smash.
