PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

I feel dumb for asking this...but what the fuck is SSD. I know it's something obvious. Kept seeing people go back and forth on it lol. Soul Sacrifice Delta? I thought that game was really well liked. Didn't know people hated it? (If that's what you guys are talking about).

Soul Sacrifice Delta. And it seems the game is universally loved unless you're Flightmare (who seems to hate it) or me, who hasn't bought it yet.

I'm torn between three of the flash sale games:

- Sly PS Vita Collection: I played Thieves in Time and loved it, without any knowledge of the previous games. I keep being told by RL friends that I need to play the first three to really appreciate the fourth. Is that true?

- God of War PS Vita Collection: Another trilogy I never played. I only played the demo from a US Playstation Magazine, and enjoyed it, but I heard it gets really, really tough later on.

- Street Fighter x Tekken PS Vita: I have never been big on SF, and I've only played Tekken in the arcades. I am a big fan of fighting games, and I have pretty much all the other big ones (DoA, BlazBlue, Injustice, UMvC3). Is it solid enough to warrant a buy?

Help me, VitaGAF. You're my only hope.

People say the Sly works great and if you loved Thieves in Time you should enjoy this games too.

It seems God of War has more perfomance problems but is still a solid port. Still, I think GoW games deserve to be played on a big screen since they're quite espectacular and all that. Or you could buy them on PSN (Are servers up already? I don't get what the fun on DDoSing things, to be honest. You aren't exploiting anything just being a jerk that teams with other jerks to saturate a server)

I dunno about SFxT.

You don't need to play the first three to appreciate the fourth Sly game, but I'd totally get te Sly Collection from all three.

1 Week til DanganRonpa 2!

.

It's a pretty solid fighter on the Vita. Controls are really tight and fluid.

but she really has been forgotten.

good.

more people who forget about her, the more she belongs to me

I find playing six button fighters on the Vita very uncomfortable. YMMV.

Hi guys.

I'm going ahead and selling the current Vita I own. It has a messed up left stick, so I'm selling to someone who is going to try to repair it himself.

Anyhow, I was wondering what I needed to do to prepare to sell it. How do I get my PSN and stuff off the system? Do I just need to remove the memory card to do so?

I'll be using the money from the sold Vita to get a new one.

Deactivate and reformat.

Now that's a tall order, since the first game is amazing and the second one is supposed to be even better than that.

Most definitely. The first case in DR2 is more intense than the first case in any PW game. I can't stop raving about how good DR2 is.

Soul Sacrifice Delta. Where did you get the impression that people hated it? You confuse me.

I must have misread some posts, my bad. Thought someone said that my contest would be fine if I banned the prize being used on SSD. But my memory sucks and it was probably something else. Or it was a joke lol

Edit: yep my mind is making up shit. It was a joke about SSD haters lol I personally love SSD. Just beat it but I'm no where near platinum lol

Street Fighter x Tekken was a huge flop, nobody plays it anymore and Capcom has merged all of its non-Tekken assets into Ultra Street Fighter IV, which pretty much confirmed that they consider it dead.

Unless you really just care about the single player (which is pretty much just the standard minimum in a Capcom fighting game) don't bother.

Same thing here, Vita is great for 4 button fighting games but 6 button is meh.

Oh if only the Vita had 6 face buttons, that would rule so much...

Hey everyone,

Recently picked up Akiba and Phantom Breakers. Enjoying the hell out of both of them, just curious if any great Indie titles popped up for Vita that I might have missed that you all recommend from the last couple months. Been neglecting my poor Vita so just curious what I missed.

Once SEN/PSN stabilize( Pun Intended) Deactivate the Vita from your account and reformat!

Rogue Legacy is probably the best indie game I've played this year.

Olli Olli is addicting as hell, so is Rogue Legacy. Great fits for the platform.
The Swapper is excellent if you're looking for a challenging and pretty puzzler.
Hohokum is incredible and a must-have.
Crimsonland is fun and well priced, but y no cross-save y!!!
Luftrausers is pretty awesome, but the skill ceiling is so high after a certain point!

One of these will be free next month.

Thanks for the recommendations! I want Rogue Legacy but I will wait or a sale, I played a TON of it on PC but I would still love to have it on that OLED screen :D

Hohokum looks really interesting...need to watch some videos for it.

Just bought the DLC for Phantom Breakers, couldn't pass it up.

Oh! Got inside info? It's gotta be Olli Olli then..

olliolli me thinks

I'd place my bet on Luftrausers

Other than what they said above, you have to play Steamworld Dig and fucking TxK

TxK is indeed great, wish we had more Llamasoft games on VIta.

I never could get into Steamworld Dig, I guess I need to give it another try.. it felt so sterile and stiff when I played it.

Should I get Gravity Crash 2 for Vita? I fondly remember games with that mechanic on Amiga, like Gravity Force. But since nobody is talking about this one I've let it slide.

Have you played Fez? If not, I'd recommend it in addition to the others mentioned. Plays perfectly on Vita. (at least one puzzle had to be changed though)

Speaking of Rogue Legacy:

WHEW

Nice. I really should start working on that. I have bought every talent, rune and piece of armour on my main guy. At the moment in NG+5. I still have to beat the 5 extra bosses as well.

SiV9UpX.jpg
Those extra bosses are just brutal, I've only managed to defeat Neo Khidr and the asteroids slime boss.

Some (cheap) tips if you're going for the Thanatophobia trophy:
Abuse the "Return to main menu" option. If you're in a tight spot or if you risk getting damaged by some spikes if you went for a rune or something, use it instead of risking getting killed. The game will save your progress.
Breakable items in "event rooms" (purple ?) respawn when you quit to the main menu and return, so you can use them to gather some money, and most importantly; food.
If you're fighting a boss and you can only take one more hit; close the app immediately if you don't like living on the edge. You will return where the game last saved before the boss.

Wow never knew that. I need to grind.

I've made a few light attempts at this point, and only ever made it to 15 deaths once. Usually I'm unhappy with the way I've played the first few guys and restart.. My game plan so far has been deck out health, mana, and spell damage, unlock the Archmage and kill it all with fire shield.

So hype for Danganronpa 2. I made the mistake of knowing the whole story going into Danganronpa 1, because of the anime that aired several months before the western release.

Not anymore. I'm going in blind, know next to nothing about this game so I will be experiencing it fresh. General consensus seems to be that this is the superior title of the 2 so I am very much looking forward to it.

In general September is going to be great with 3 of the most anticipated Q3 titles of my list of 5 coming out. DR2, Destiny and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax all in September.

Beat Dragon's Crown on Infernal which was quite a fun ride- Would have liked to platinum the game but I can't really bring myself to take the time to finish the game with the 5 other characters. Started up Ys: MoC instead and first impressions are really good.

good.

more people who forget about her, the more she belongs to me

They will remember her once Square Enix announces dat Lightning Trilogy HD Remaster

Also, I am BEYOND psyched for Danganronpa 2.

Pre-ordered the LE back in June, so I'm psyched to get those Monokuma sunglasses B)

I wish I could dive into games like Neptunia and Atelier, but I just can't get used to the little girl MC that they usually use (ok, some Atelier games use a teenager girl, but eh).

I've played like 90 minutes of Delta so far and WOW. Delta really did add a ton of content. I only played like 5 hours of the original too so I wonder how much of the new stuff I won't even notice. I'm sorry I doubted you, baek shi.

I must have misread some posts, my bad. Thought someone said that my contest would be fine if I banned the prize being used on SSD. But my memory sucks and it was probably something else. Or it was a joke lol

I was wondering what you were talking about. Guess that explains that.

It'll be SSD, since Flandy just bought it.
I doubt they would offer Delta since they already offered the original on Plus.
