Never occurred to me that these Twitter morons were for real, to be honest. I laughed when this Fame person posted a list of IPs. OH WOW SHIT JUST GOT REAL.... or not. It's a list of IPs. I can post random IPs too and pretend anything, jesus.
 
Well this blows. I bought the PS4 version of Final Fantasy 14 last night, and now I can't play it. And let us perish the thought that the game sucks. Since 2.0, it's been a fantastic MMORPG.

Well there's a prompt that comes up asking you to do so, but yes, if it's not set as that you can't do anything until PSN is back.

It's been fine for the past month or so, had a day or two of bad connections, but that's about it.

He probably means they have no control what is sent to them.
This is no real hack. A DDoS attack is basically sending (worthless) requests to a server. If the amount of requests (data sent to the server) is bigger then the server can handle everything breaks down. It's like building a dam to hold water back. No matter how tall you built the dam, if the water level is higher water will cross over it.
 
I always greatly anticipate add-ons to games I didn't really like. I don't know why that is so controversial?

Go to network settings and disable "Connect to the Internet" it seems to get stuck there because it keeps trying to connect.

I had the exact same problem with Fez but after I did that it worked.
 
I don't see anything wrong with Infamous ISS getting a 6.5 score. I'd probably give it the same score.

I'm not interested in playing the add-on, though.

Distributed denial of service. They basically send so many requests to Sony's servers (in this case it looks like Amazon which helps put whoever shit on PSN for having one datacenter in their place) to the point where they cannot deal with the traffic. Distributed means it's coming from a variety of sources so it isn't easy to just basically block one particular server from doing it.
