PSN, Battlenet, Riot, and others DDOSed; PSN returning lightly toasted with butter

Some people earlier were saying that happens if the console is not set as your primary.
 
To play offline, go to settings and network and turn off connect to internet. You dont have to unplug stuff
And turn off router. This method is easier.

It's rather unfortunate that so many never set their mum as their primary mom. Now they can't even use their downloaded mams.
 
Lets say the outage last 3 weeks like the last time. Sony would be in six feet deep in the shit with their Destiny bundles. This kind of attack could really damage Bungie too.

I'm just a layman but what a crazy couple of weeks for hackers. 4.5 million hospital records were stolen including SSNs, Ferguson sites brought down, Battle.net, Phil Fish, etc. Thank the gods for subscription cards.

I love video games as much as t her next guy but I'm not going to not buy digitally bc I didn't activate my console as primary when I was prompted during initial setup especially when all I have to do is go on a forum and learn that disconnecting the console from my router will allow me to play my digital game when their is a Ddos
 
My PS4 is set as my primary system. Today, I've been able to:

- Play TLOU single player (disc)
- Play Diablo III (digital copy, bought full price) single player and local multiplayer. I did have a warning about online features unavailable
- Play Outlast (PS+, free). First time I've launched it, too

However, for some reason, Fez failed to load properly. I can launch the game, but it stays stuck on some loading screen forever, before I even get to the main menu.
 
I am really sad about this now. I was expecting to pre load infamous first light and bought PvZ: GW out of the blue to play it but I can't. Sunday ruined.

Well did you set it as the primary account when setting it up for the first time? If not, it was you.

It's a problem effecting some subset of users. My PS4 was set as primary, but i'm still getting the error. Hell, I was even able to play earlier today entirely offline before I had some portion of connectivity with PSN restored momentarily (i.e. i could see recent updates about games for a few minutes), then I lost the ability to do so when PSN went down again. It's not a reason not to go digital, but it clearly hasn't been perfected either.
 
Man that sucks, hopefully it'll be fixed soon. DDOS attacks are no joke, probably have to isolate the attack and restart all services world wide. Will take some time.
 
So a friend of mine booted up his PS4 and was getting just a blue screen and nothing else so he proceeded to switch it back to factory settings and I guess lost everything.

I don't recall. I assume I would do that. I set it up myself brand new out of the box. Never had anyone else sign in on this console nor did i intend to.

I don't suppose there is anything i can do about it until PSN is working again.
