Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XIII: Leak Dynasty

If its real maybe he's intentionally not revealing things that would confirm it

I'm pretty sure there's a set schedule on when things get revealed. Famitsu and Nintendo Dream had Meta Knight in them despite him only being revealed a week prior, right? I don't think they would have been able to do that without knowing in advance he was going to be revealed.

If there are magazines coming out soon with characters that haven't been revealed yet in them, then the reveal schedule probably can't be changed that easily.

OMFG RIDLEY CONFIRMED!

... I hope you realise that your reaction sounds very rude, considering I was polite enouh to reply to your question with a quick summary. :/

Don't know if you'll see this, but sorry about that, I was tired and didn't really understand your post. I honestly didn't mean to come off as rude.

I really hope Sakurai is aware of this and will put it to bed real soon.

I feel as if he'll troll us and drag it out regardless of legitimacy.

If I were him and I didn't already have everything planned out (as far as pictures of the day, reveal dates, etc) i'd do one of two things depending on the legitimacy of the leak.

  • Leak is real: Save anything that could confirm the leak for as late as possible.
  • Leak is fake: Show something off asap to disconfirm it.

I'm not him, and there are more forces involved with this, so none of this would ever happen.

If Sakurai knows and the leak is fake, he's not going to tell soon.
He'll take advantage of that obviously.

Hey where's that pic with all the pics of the day put together for every week? Maybe we can update that?

I fear the day.

This will be a spoiler free thread when it releases in JP anyway, so no worries here!

If I didn't want to be spoiled, I would have already stopped coming to this thread and anywhere else on the internet that discusses Smash or related to it.

People who don't want to be spoiled should go into their spoiler-free bunkers now, IMO. But hey, if you want to take chances and stick around go ahead lol.

So I brought this up the other day and it got swept over by what I think was the leak, so I figured I'd share it again.

Do you know how many days it is until the night before Smash 3DS launches in America? 39 days. Do you know what else involves the number 39? The number of characters in Brawl's roster if you include PT's Pokémon and transformations.

I've decided to send off Brawl the same way I did for Melee: in accordance to the number of characters in the game's roster, I'll be playing through Classic/All-Star mode with a character once per day. For anyone else who wants to jump in on this but can't pull off 39 characters, here's a schedule for however else you can divide the full roster.

39 days: August 24-October 2nd
37 days: August 26-October 2nd
35 days: August 24-October 2nd

(yes, I'm a bit late on sharing this, haha)

Of course, you customize it however you like. Me, I plan to do 37 days (including Sheik and ZSS) plan to also do a VS. match with every character for every one of their color alts before diving into the single player modes.

Lemme know if you'll be participating :D

Spoilers.... for a fighting game? The entire game's major "spoilers" can be shown in a single screenshot, seems hardly worth the effort to segregate discussion. I don't see how you'd even manage to keep up the facade after release, "oh, I wonder who will be confirmed next?" When two threads down the entire roster was known for a week and literally everyone on the internet not in that thread knows everything.

Maybe if it had a story mode like other fighting games or Brawl, but yeah, you got a point.

Spoilers are nothing more than something that spoil the surprise. Too many people assume spoilers are strictly plot/story related.

Learning about characters ahead of time can spoil the surprise of which characters are left to unlock.

Way too many people in this thread are dehydrated, Sakurai needs to bring the water

I see something in the distance, I think it's a pic of the day that will put and end to these leak debates!
Wait, nope, it was a mirage, all that's left in this crater is a droplet of smash run.

Person A: I really hope that Shulk is in the game
*5 hours later*
Person B: Eh, I'm more worried about Snake
*6 hours later*
Person A: Don't remind me :(

My god, when that happens, put it out of its misery
by throwing it into community

Zelda Community depresses me, at least Pokemon Community is somewhat alive

Well, as frustrating as all this conflicting leak business is, at least Meta Knight's Challenger Approaching banner has been removed already, which means we could be looking at another veteran this week, which could confirm or deny the leaks outright.

so you analyse every pixel of media out there for more than a year but once the game is out you want to make this a spoiler free zone?

Don't game usually get separate spoiler threads after release?

I want to read about Smash, but I want things like secret characters, stages, features and other surprises to happen to me by playing.

Just got back from a really fun skiing weekend BUT...
Reading the thread, here's the details I saw:
-Leaker was indeed from ESRB, lost his job.
-Event Mode either somehow not seen or axed in the 3DS version. Noted that it could've been behind challenges and not single player, which would make some sense since co-op events were a thing in Brawl.
-MasterLinkX is spreading a lot of false information, but has seen the leak.
-There are unique images of Sonic, Pac-Man, and Megaman in the all-star mode menu. Lends more credit to Snake getting axed I think.
-The leakers have mainly just seen menu screens and an 8 second clip of Shulk's video screen
-They believe that the roster isn't final as All-Star mode has a lock on it, but they have no indication or information to go by otherwise.
-Probably not going to get anything more from this guy because the ESRB is pissed at him and told him not to leak anything else.

Overall, I think it confirms that a group of people is leaking different parts of the same info, but it doesn't really clear up if that info is fake or not.
This story has been going around for awhile through a few private networks since this started almost a week ago and I really don't have any reason to doubt it's legitimacy at this point, though I haven't seen this video myself yet. The guy who posted shit on /v/ (which makes me question the DLC claims now, though not what NeoZeo claims on SBoards since they seem like different perspectives/sources on the same content) more or less completely ignored their friend's wishes when they were shown this information and they're sort of a massive dipshit. All I'm saying.

I mean, tons of people have played the previous two titles and it's a pretty significant portion of the single player that I feel is silly to "hide" instead of just show it in plain sight and let the player immediately wonder how to unlock it rather than it appearing out of the blue.
You always have to remember that for some this is their first Smash Bros so keeping things like All Star mode hidden can still be a surprise.

Of course the menu UI could have been designed with All Star being visible to look balanced and thus making it invisible just looks wrong which is why they've decided to lock it rather than hide it.

Still that padlock looks a bit rubbish.
