PSN, Battlenet, Riot, and others DDOSed; PSN returning lightly toasted with butter

At least this is happening before Destiny.

I really don't understand why it's so difficult to protect against this sort of thing. Really hope Sony figures it out soon, and Blizzard as well.

As a multiplatform owner, this is making me seriously rethink my choice to get Destiny on PS4. Will they be able to handle the craziness of launch day?

I think Bungie is hosting all the Destiny servers. However, if some 13 year-old wants to DDoS PSN that day apparently there's nothing to stop him.

i know its scheduled for tomorrow but i really hope sony delays the maintenance would be kinda a slap in the face to us to have it up for a few hours at most and to only go back down the whole day tomorrow for that

I've been online for quite a while now. Haven't played any multiplayer games today but I can sync my trophies and browse the store.. Though all my friends that are online are on their PS3s..

Guess I'll give injustice a shot and see if I can play online.

Everything on my PS4 is fine, but it's like I'm not connected to the internet. Can view Live from PS fine.

No blue screen of death though, and no licensing problems.

Still down, wow. At least I was able to play a shitload of diablo today, playing solo so I'm not really effected. Hope they get it up soon.

So, just to be clear - when I get a PS4 I need to go into the PSN options and set it as my "primary console?" And then I'll be able to play some games (like Diablo) offline?

Anything else I need to know?

I'm sure they've planned it in advance, but that doesn't mean it will be 100%. But honestly, I can imagine it either going well thanks to Activision (are CODs ever down on launch day?) or going horribly due to everyone (MS, Sony, Bungie) underestimating server demand.
