Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XIII: Leak Dynasty

Actual roster if we believe the 5 more and DLC rumors.

DLC characters as a new column added to the right.

Here I selfishly added K.Rool to make it an even 60.

In my opinion, there's got to be at least one more stage. Plus, I am of the opinion that in both Melee and Brawl, stages were much harder to unlock than the characters.
I'm way more paranoid about the leaked stage list being final than the roster being final, but I could see it (hopefully) being something like this:

F-Zero and Ness only have one stage in the 3DS version, which is just a ported over version of whatever they're getting in the Wii U version. No other reason why they have a new stage in that selection while tons of other bigger franchises only get veteran stages.

Mario, Zelda, Kirby and Pokemon start off with actual new stages, while the smaller veteran franchises (DK/Metroid/Yoshi/Fox) start off with a veteran stage. Worth pointing out Zelda/Kirby/Pokemon unless I've missed something have no veteran stage in that leak, and Mario could just have Mushroomy Kingdom (pretty 'eh' choice considering the NSMB2/3DLand choices IMO) because it's fucking Mario.

Wario/Pikmin have had little to nothing in terms of portable titles inbetween Brawl and SSB4, and will probably *only* have veteran stages repping them in the 3DS version. Mac's stage is playable from the start since it also works as a general 'Smash' stage, while the other characters like WFT or Duck Hunt Dog with console-only games have their ported Wii U stages locked away. Only thing that fucks that last theory up is Bionis' Leg already being there.

I just can't see DK and Metroid not getting a new stage on the 3DS version and I'd be far more disapointed in the final stage selection if that's true than the final roster selection if that photo is all we're getting (and I think there's more evidence than not suggesting that's not the case for the roster).

Weird to see Dorf so high, he's always been so divisive in Smash. I however love playing as him, so awesome.

That's what I think. I just don't see the Ice Climbers being cut. Whether they're DLC or not. Especially with that damn Polar Bear.....taunting...

Hmmmm ok! I can live with this!

Mewtwo is there :')

Or you know, being optimistic, thinking rationally, and using the evidence provided to make a logical decision.

Guess it's denial that

- No Smash Run enemy lacks a playable character
- There is a weird, awkward amount of space on the CSS, which amounts to exactly enough space for 5 more slots.
- We have literally no idea if this is the entire roster. At all. In fact, it's already proven that not only was this leak from an earlier build, but that it didn't even have everything unlocked.
- Ice Climbers are long time vets of Smash, incredibly unique characters, and characters Sakurai considers one of his best ideas for the series.
- The only reason Nintendo is even able to put Ice Climbers in games like NES Remix and sell them successfully on the Virtual Console is because they are in Smash. Ice Climbers is kind of a bad game on its own...

Just denial I guess.
These are my thoughts as well. I wouldn't be shocked if they are gone, but I don't believe they are.

Divisive characters that are highly loved by the side that likes them will do better than characters that are widely liked but rarely loved.

Wow, looking back my roster predictions sucked hard. A lot of them was like checking boxes off a list instead of going for gut feelings and crazy shit. (Ex: I cut Lucina off my roster for Chrom last minute)

HECK YEAH! GANONDORF IS AT 14TH PLACE! MY BOY! :)

I always love to do super stomp, warlock punch and chokeslam to the hell. He was a lot of fun to play with. :)

Huh? Care to explain?

Wolf, Ivysaur, and Lucas being out is already crushing enough. The Brawl newcomers I liked playing as were Ivysaur, Charizard, Ike, Lucario, R.O.B., Lucas, and Wolf. And Sakurai cut 3 of them.

I may as well introduce myself. I'm one of Neo's 2nd hand leakers. Disclaimer, I did not want the title "leaker", I wasn't trying to leak anything. I was just simply having conversations about things i've heard from a "Nintendo rep" (who is 100% legitimate now). But seeing as a ton of stuff is out there now, I don't feel bad, so long as the name of my source has not been disclosed.

Luckily, my friend Chris posted about what we'd learned the day of http://gamrconnect.********.com/thread.php?id=188067&page=1
Important points:
*Bowser Jr. and The Duck Hunt Dog
*49 characters total
*Not in the post but he also called Dr. Mario, Pitoo, & hinted at Shulk.
*Dr. Mario we thought was a skin, but that may have been a communication error.

If you count the members on the CSS leak, it's 48. If you add the Mii, that's 49. No way this guy was BS-ing. . However, Neo and others are working out something very big right now so there may be more hidden characters.

So he said that Mewtwo and Wolf are out?

Looks like it. I don't remember that specifically.

Something to note is that this was a contracted worker. He may have not played the full build

edit: I find it weird if they WOULD stop at 49. Having 50+ characters is a big marketing advtage, I doubt that time constraints would really hold it at 49. There is also some speculation about more characters being released during the Wii U release, as free DLC for 3ds. But that's just a rumor

@Neo Zero can you verify this?
Pretty much what he says.

Shulk being unlocked could trigger the Bionis' Leg stage to unlock as well. Since there's potentially more characters to unlock, we could get stages for DK/Metroid when someone is unlocked- Dixie/Ridley for instance.

Man, I really hope Ice Climbers and Wolf are back, even if it's as DLC.

Ice Climbers are as core to Smash as Captain Falcon to me, and Wolf was one of my Brawl mains.

I need them! ;~;

Looks like with those last 5 slots filled, the roster looks cleaner on the WiiU as well (ignore the fake leaked characters, it just shows how it makes it look better)

That duck hunt dog looks hideous. The legit Smash Bros one reflects his normal default look.

I find it interesting that he is so well known by his trolling that that's pretty much his whole manifestation to the gaming community as a whole. Kind of like how in Wreck it Ralph Zangief wasn't really a bad guy, but because he was a pain in the ass to casual players he developed that persona.

Maybe Sakurai didn't want to sacrifice the character's original gimmick... but I'm surprised that if technical issues kept Ice Climbers out he didn't go for the alternative of separating them into an "Ice Climber" and making Nana alts for Popo.

Hmm. So, do we know when this guy-the worker-last worked on Smash? If it's close to release, I doubt he's playing anything but a full build. But if it was earlier in the year, hell even just a month or two ago, I could see him not playing the full game. I mean, for whatever reason, the Gematsu leaker claimed Bandai Namco didn't get to see a lot of things, so I wouldn't expect a contracted worker to get to see much either.

I'm pretty confident Ice Climbers will be in. I would be legit shock if they're cut.

I think it'd be hilarious if they take a moment tomorrow on the new Pokemon game stream
"you want leaks? I'll give you leaks!"
water gushes into the room
everyone near drowns
sakurai has some inflatable ball suit
the water slowly goes out of the room
everyone is soaking
but dry as a bone, sakurai is standing in the middle in a giant inflatable jigglypuff suit

I have made this image to represent it.

In seriousness though, do you think Sakurai will address these leaks sometime this week or next? I mean not outright confirm them, but stir the pot a bit confirming them, or otherwise trolling people about them?

Let's make the remaining 5:

Mewtwo (Sakurai said it was a possibility or something like that during a Pokemon thing)

Lucas (Why this character would be cut when there are clones a plenty everywhere else is beyond me)

Wolf (Same as Lucas, except he's even less of a clone so I don't know why cutting a unique character would be something Sakurai would want to do)

Ice Climbers (Fucking christ they aren't going anywhere guys come on)

Chorus Kids (Pretty much corroborated by many leakers and makes a lot of sense given everything we know)

Bio
Ganondorf, known as the Great King of Evil or the Dark Lord, is the primary antagonist of a majority of the games in the Legend of Zelda series. Ganondorf was born a member of the Gerudo; as the only male member to be born in a hundred years, Ganondorf is made either the King of the Gerudo or the Guardian of the Desert, depending on the game. Gifted with powerful magic, Ganondorf often seeks the omniscient Triforce to grant his wish of conquering the entire world. He frequently wields the Triforce of Power, and stages coups against the Royal Family of Hyrule to take the Hyrulean Throne by force. In the English-localized game manual of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, his full name is stated to be Ganondorf Dragmire, and his alias before his incursion into the Sacred Realm is stated to have been Mandrag Ganon, meaning "Ganon of the Enchanted Thieves."

The Triforce of Power that Ganondorf often holds grants him near-immortality; the only weapons that can truly defeat him are the Master Sword, Silver Arrows, and Light Arrows. In addition to granting him power, the Triforce of Power allows Ganondorf to transform into his more powerful beast form, Ganon, reminiscent of a pig or hog. During events of the ending of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the timeline of The Legend of Zelda series is severed into three separate timelines. Thus the Ganondorf from Ocarina of Time has three different future incarnations, each eventually meeting their end at the hands of different Links, leaving uncertain futures for each Ganondorf. In addition to the character from Ocarina of Time and his three parallel future selves, Ganondorf or his monstrous Ganon form appear several more times throughout the series. It is not confirmed which if any of these incarnations are connected to the previous being, and the Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures is given a different backstory, leading to the idea that there may be multiple Ganondorfs, much like many other characters in the Legend of Zelda series who have multiple incarnations.

I'd throw Dixie on there. She was on Brawl's code as a cut character. Probably as a dual character with Diddy.

Prediction: Pic of the day is going to be some single player stuff I won't care about, but it's gonna be accompanied by some sickass jams in the music section.

1. Lucas and Wolf require more effort than a standard clone, it's entirely valid that they may have been cut late into roster development

2. People said the same thing about Mewtwo as you are about Ice Climbers

I still have to get Female Robin, Male WFT, and all the Koopalings. Because you know Nintendo is gonna milk the fuck out of the Amiibos.

Ouch.

Let's make the remaining 5:

If there is actually 5 more characters then I would predict

Ice Climbers
Chorus Kid/Chorus Men/Marshall
Wolf
Mewtwo
Dixie

It would be nice if we get Snake and Lucas but I don't think they will be back.

Careful with that logic. Keep in mind that Mewtwo, a completely unique character, was cut from the jump between Melee and Brawl. Sometimes a character's originality has nothing to do with if they make the cut or not. There are plenty of other determining factors, the most notable and frequent of which is pure time constraints.

The POTD is going to ride the 3DS train real hard until the game comes out, unless there's something cross-platform to show off like items, costumes, assist trophies, etc. I wouldn't expect any Wii U specific content for a while.

1) I'm not saying they weren't, I'm saying they shouldn't have been. And also I think a case could be made for bringing Lucas back beig equivalent to doing a clone or two but apparently that's crazy talk.

2) I don't think the two are at all comparable. One is a Pokemon (Pokemon slots are competitive, as has been made apparent), and the other is a retro revival that Sakurai hand crafted. Plus if there is an Ice Climber Smash Run enemy with no ICs, I will eat nothing but crow for the rest of my life.

No DKC newcomer or new DK stage still gets a giant WTF out of me. Never expected that to happen.

I'm not riding the hidden character train until we hear something anyway. Probably too good to be true.

I'm posting this information to see if any of this actually comes true. Obviously take this with a huge grain of salt because I don't know if any of this is true or if this guy is a big liar. In the Bay Area the smash scene is pretty big. In SF, they hold smash gatherings every week (In Oakland as well "the Made"). Tonight there was a guy who says his internship with Nintendo had just ended. Yes, Nintendo has an office of some sort in Redwood/San Mateo (Bay Area). Anyways, I'll just share the basics to keep it simple.

The following chars are supposedly to be revealed

Bowser Jr. and The dog from duck hunt

Not returning/added:

Wolf and Mewtwo

*49 chars total

multiple skins available such as Dr. Mario. and Jr. Bowser's alt. costumes are the koopa kids.

I'm not standing behind this guy by any means, but we'll see if any of this comes true.

That's from the same guy I just posted about from Smashboards.

The best thing Sakurai should do is switch one of the returning veterans with one of the dlc veterans and show the now included veteran tonight

Like Wolf for Falco and show Wolf tonight. It would be GLORIOUS
