maybe she can learn from Iroh Jr.

im still sad korra will never learn combustion bending from Combustion Ma'am because she

herself

there's no point. For one thing from a writing stand point you'd want the crew to each bring their own unique ability. For another thing it's largely a deadly art, she'd never use it. Unless she was willing to kill like Mako.

She's willing to kill people. She did it to Unalaq and she was serious with her death threats against Red Lotus

There's always Zuko still hanging around doing something. Let Zuko teach her lightning like Iroh taught him.
Would be a much better alternative than Mako.

the game meant for teens at the highest will let you do what is considered the most fucked up form of bending lol. I can see that happening.

It can be like a Rockstar game where I can run around bloodbending anyone and everyone for pure joy and get a slap on the wrist by Republic City's metal benders.

So Korra will learn to lightning bend or nah.

first she will learn to fly... you see that face? that is a face that is about to give up on the world and everyone in it which will allow her to just float away into nothingness.... and then she will remember... OH WAIT I LIKE TO BASH THINGS! and suddenly learn to lightning bend raining down death from the heavens after coming to the conclusion that if there are no living creatures in the world the world will be in harmony... lack of chaos, lack of order, equals true world peace....

and then... just because... she will go off to be a
lumberjack.
.. just to make sure to top a certain Showtime show for the worst ending ever :P.

That one doesn't morph her face in as weird of a way.

...

The season should have primarily focused on 1. Tenzin and the airbenders, tying in with Jinora's growth 2. Korra's development as the avatar and her development with her friends and 3. Zaheer's team. When the theme is change, you have to cut out the characters that don't contribute to that change, even if we ended up liking Kai a bit.

I haven't posted really because I haven't had time and well, your reviews pretty much mirror what I have to say. Having too many characters has been a constant problem for the series, to the detriment of everyone's development. I think they should have jettisoned people every season when they adopted the shorter mini-series approach.

Book 1 Protagonists:

Korra
Tenzin
Tenzin's family
Bolin
Mako
Asami

Villains:
Asami's dad
Tarrlok
Amon

Book 2 Protagonists:
Korra
Korra's dad
Tenzin
Kya
Bumi

Villains:
Unalaq
Desna and Esna

Book 3 Protagonists:
Korra
Lin
Suyin
Jinora
Tenzin

Villains:
Zaheer's Gang

I don't count one-dimensional characters like the henchmen or Varrick or the Earth Queen because they don't need characterization and much airtime, but you can see where I'm going with this.

All that being said, I enjoyed Season 3, though not as much as Season 1 until it went to shit. I catch myself when I critique it too much - at this point, it is what it is, and there's some incredible stuff here - the incredible animation and fight sequences, the godly music by the Track Team. But in terms of narrative, I keep finding that so many of the payoffs in the show feel unearned. It could be so much better, but there's not much they can do at this point really.

Wow, that would've been an interesting ending, too. Korra on some kind of heavy painkillers, constantly smirking and sometimes quietly giggling and ending on her with a big smile and the tear. The contrast would be harsh.
Drug addicted Korra for season 4?

A few deaths and y'all think this show is suddenly breaking bad. Chill.

I agree with this. People now think there are no barriers and they'll be killing people off Game of Thrones style or turn into this cartoon that it will not be.

The Red Lotus= The Red Wedding*

*do not google if you haven't seen/gotten to that point in the Game of Thrones tv show or the Song of Ice and Fire novels.
