Where did you find this?

Guys, I wouldn't freak out about a possibly photoshopped 4chan post unless it was archived. Who would have saved that post as a picture anyway?

That post number isn't archived but I was able to find a few people talking about it saying it didn't have anything to do with smash, all I can get is a 404 though.

We already have Captain Falcon & Ganondorf, Marth & Lucina...would we really need more clones of their moveset ? :P

Maybe if Sakurai would give Ganondorf something new already... Black Shadow or even Deathborn could take his old moves.

I would, with a very heavy heart indeed, trade Rosalina, Palutena, Lucina, Dark Pit and Miis for Ridley alone.

It would be a truly hard sacrifice to make, but sometimes these things just have to happen.
I'd trade:

Rosalina
Shulk
Bowser Jr.
Wii Fit Trainer
Dark Pit
Lucina
Dr. Mario

For any of Isaac, Ridley or Mewtwo.

False alarm. Back to your regularly scheduled program.
Hah, I remember that thread. Someone made that picture shortly after the Robin trailer and tried to pass it off as an old post, but someone dug up the post number and it was just someone whining about street fighter or something.

i'd trade the entire roster for an elite beat agents fighting game

yeah bet that makes you feel pretty bad about liking a dumb character huh

I would love an Elite Beat Agents stage that cycles through a few of their different story settings. A lot of really cool locations/secondary characters in that series that would be a neat addition to smash. Not to mention you could make a guilty pleasure mash up of all those songs.

I think the leak did more harm than good. I wonder how many people disappointed with the roster (myself included), would not have been if we got proper reveals with some cool gameplay?

Pretty much. There's a very good reason companies what to have control about how information about their products is released because having that information packaged in a poor manner can hurt business. When I heard about Bowser Jr. I wasn't happy because I hated him in the Mario games. However, seeing his gameplay footage, he doesn't look that terrible. Put that in context of a proper trailer with good, clean footage AND showing off Koopaling alts at the same time? That could have easily changed my first impression. Ganondorf could have a sweet array of custom mvoes and Dark Pit could have a sweet array of alternate weapons at his disposal but because the first way these character are presented to us is as grainy CPU footage or just screenshots, our first impression will be less than favorable even if, going by the final product, they shouldn't be.

What characters are you thinking that would be on your ideal roster that aren't retro but aren't "relevant"?

Well, going off we know right now:

-Pretty much anything from Rare games (I know why this is, but it doesn't make it any less annoying)
-GBA-era is largely ignored outside of Assist Trophies (Golden Sun, Advanced Wars, etc)
-I'm a little salty that Dark Samus is an AT, but I guess it's better than nothing.
-Paper Mario in general
-Wolf is apparently getting cut, because I guess Star Fox just doesn't cut it

And on a completely different note, Ganondorf is still Falcondorf. Dumb.

But just so I'm not being a big stink about things, I was pretty excited to see Bowser Jr. in the game. Sunshine is one of my favs, and I love the addition of the clown car.

I'm mobile and can't watch that video, could somebody give me a quick summary?
Some Dude got frame by frame on each attack of veterans in sm4sh, brawl and melee and how fast they are to execute. Its kinda weird though cause it doesn't count landing lag, hit boxes, animation cancel etc

I couldn't watch it with sound but from what I saw, it was comparing the duration of certain moves.

Not the end lag, start up frames or anything massively useful like that, just how long the move is active.

Maybe because I don't have sound atm and because I closed the tab after 3 minutes I'm not getting something, but it seemed like a pointless video to me, I'm assuming it ends in a "See? Smash4 isn't slow because the attack duration is quick!" or something.

I somewhat agree, but honestly...this is the fault of Nintendo for not revealing any more information. This is a huge game. We're only 2 weeks away from release, and yet there is still quite a bit of information that we still don't know, even after the leak.

I can understand leaving 1-2 characters hidden. However, let's assume that the leaked roster is final, and that the leak never occurred - this means that there were 4 newcomers (as well as numerous veterans, including Dr. Mario) that they haven't even mentioned.

Chances are, we're not getting anything this week. Or in the early part of next week. So, had the leak not occurred, you're telling me that Nintendo was seriously under the impression that they could leave so much information hidden in the game a WEEK before release without some of it getting spoiled early? That's a naive mindset in this day and age.

There should have been a Direct two weeks ago to inform of us of 2-3 of the newcomers. Sakurai should have probably revealed a few more veterans by now as well. This still would have allowed them to leave 1-2 newcomers and a handful of veterans hidden.

Instead, they've been incredibly resistant to telling us anything.
