PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | August 2014

How straightforward is the P4G platinum, out of interest?

It's lovely revisiting Olli Olli. Playing with the DS4 is great. I can see myself spending alot more time with this now, especially with leaderboards.

Man I know what you mean. It just feels so perfect using the DS4, especially coming from playing it on Vita (not sure if you played on PS3 or Vita). Also not having to use the touch screen for menus is so much better.

A lot of people might complain about PS4 having no games, but I am enjoying playing absolute definitive versions of games I have played in the past, like OlliOlli. The DS4 is pretty much my favorite controller of all time.

Thanks!

On another note... FANTASTIC week upcoming:

September 2nd Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (Vita)

September 2nd Don't Starve (Vita)

September 2nd Joe Danger (Vita)

September 2nd Mega Man X4 (PSOne Classic)

September 2nd Velocity 2X (PS4/Vita)

September 2nd Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (PS4/PS3/Vita)

Buying one (DR2) getting Dont Starve, Joe Danger and V2x for free... plus rules!

Nope there are no difficulty level trophies. You could play on Easy and then NG+ on Easy and still get the plat. If you keep multiple save files and follow a guide most of it isn't too bad.
That's cool. I am fucking hyped about starting this. I'm about to go to bed, and the download's still grinding away, but as soon as I get a spare moment tomorrow, I am tucking the fuck in. I've seen so much hype here, and I just read the Polygon review for reassurance. My backlog cries.

Yeah, I played on Vita.

And I agree. My PS4 is packed full of such games. And I don't feel as though I've paid much money!

Mega Man and Danganronpa will be mine. I only played a little of X4 when I was younger so I'm looking forward to revisiting it.

I have a question VitaGAF which has been puzzling me for many nights.

I have a retail copy of Dragons Crown but am wondering what would happen if I downloaded the digital version? I "brought" it when it was free on PSPlus but am a little wary of downloading it and losing my level 99 Elf...

Anyone know what happens? New bubble? Nothing? Papers Please Vita unlocks?

I'm hoping that P4G will distract from my desire to play Danganronpa long enough so that it drops in price by the time I get to it. I haven't paid £35 for a game in a long time, and I'm not about to start now!

But, Danganronpa is on sale for $20 in the US.. not in the UK? That sucks.

Woah, I really like the sales on the EU store at the moment. Wanted to buy Street Fighter x Tekken on Vita for a while now.

Also thinking of Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus or Atelier game. NG is available for similar price on cartridge, but Atelier are digital only right? Which is the best? I heard good things about the series.

I want to buy a 64GB because I'm a sucker but I really should just hold off just in case they announce anything about memory cards on Monday

I don't know what will happen, but just backup your save to PS+, download the game and then download your save back. Elf saved.

You could ask this on the DC OT too, maybe someone there knows it: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=638953

I am still on my 32gb card... I am debating whether to get the 64gb or wait to see if they announce something bigger...

Living on a 16 here. Even if they announce a 128 I'm not sure I would get it. 128 would probably mean a price drop for the 64 so that would be tempting depending on how low it drops

Oh god, that IGC thread. You can pretty much tell who has a Vita and who only has a PS4 from their post alone.

Is there any Bullet Girls' impression? I kinda want it to fill in the TPS slot that isn't only about grumpy dude.

Should be fine, but I think some games actually save to the game card...I assume that wouldn't work? But it might with Cloud Save? It works fine with Wipeout 2048 and Uncharted but they presumably don't use cart saves. Digital bubble will install over the old bubble. Either way upload a cloud save and you're safe either way.

I've lost a lot of faith in humanity since reading those threads. I guess the PS4 being the best for multiplats/sales in general brought the dudebrodom to the party, hadn't thought of that consequence.

Ya, saw that too :(. I mean, if there are PS4 only users with Plus, then I can sorta see the fustration they may have (no retail games on the service) but then again, the system just came out last year. It will be the earliest a year before retail games land on the service, so.....there's that :l.

Sony didn't have to have IGC on PS4 at all; could of just copied XBL and had the IGC non-present on PS4 at all. But nope, they take quality tittles from indie groups and bigger DL games (Strider comes to mind) and put them on the service.

Also, the people there must have not remembered what Plus was like in its early years XD! PS Mini's, PS1 Classics and smaller games were all they gave out (and this was when it wasn't an requirement at all for PS Platforms) and only a year or so latter they started having bigger retail/digital games on the platform.

I'm sure it will get better. By next year, retail games might land on the platform, so most PS4 owners will be happy with the IGC then :D.

I swear people will never be happy.

Indie game comes to IGC: "Im tired of all these stupid ugly 2d platformers, give us freakin AAA games. I paid $35 for PS+ and i want infamous"

AAA game comes to IGC: "Ugh this game is old, who hasnt played this game already. Why didnt they give us a game that came out a month ago. Im ending my subscription, i never use it anyway"

Game they finally like comes to IGC: "Geez thanks for putting it on there so late sony, I already have the game. You shoudve just put one of those stupid indie games on there instead. At least I havent played that"

Heck i feel there could be a month where last of us, infamous, diablo 3 and minecraft all come to IGC for PS4 the same month and someone will complain that they dont have enough space on their Hard drive and is angry at sony for releasing them all at once.

This x 9000.

So Warrior's Orochi 3 or Dynasty Warriors 8 on the Vita? Want to get one but they seem like the same thing.

I remember their system are different. Orochi is the one with swappable party members.

Not trying to put the blame on anyone here, since the healthy sale of PS4 means Japan will look forward to localize their games (if they exist, I know) in English more, but it also brings the bad side of being the best performance console. People will expect every PS4 games should look like TLOU at the very least, and they dismiss every indie/mid-tier games. Good graphic is a plus, but I'm fine playing game like Natural Doctrine, and whenever I see those kind of games got announced for PS4, the first thing that sadden me is people say it doesn't worthy to be called a PS4 game.

there's nothing to buy after hatsune miku pdf2

sad

In terms of retail releases, yeah there isn't much after Miku.

It's not an import thread, but people started posting there impressions in here. Unfortunately it sounds like the game's shooting mechanics are pretty poor, while the AI is just awful.

Minecraft is all I ask from September.

I want to build battle arenas on the go already. :(
It's getting to be a bit of a joke already. 4J desperately need to hire more staff. It's also not hard to read between the lines and guess that the Vita edition has been sidelined somewhat in favour of the PS4 and XB1 editions as after a year in dev it still has the most work to be done on it, according to 4J's Twitter.

They never should have breathed "August" unless they could actually deliver on it. I don't expect the Vita version to update in a timely fashion either.

Thank. Guess I'll buy it when it goes cheap, then. Japan can't make good AI for once, honestly.

I need a new Mahjong game for the Vita. My PSP is broken and I can't play Saki anymore.

SoulSacDelta.....

That's debatable depends on how we define "good". The only thing I like about them is how fast they respond to my "Save me" command. Otherwise it's hit or miss here and there, like how they keep throwing shit at Cinderella face when all it does is bouncing the projectile around.

I love Mahjong and would appreciate impressions on the best Mahjong games for Vita as well.

God, those days were shit. Comparatively. Shit, we were getting PS1 games until little over a year ago. People have short fuses, attention spans and even shorter memories. People don't even remember what console launches are like and there they go with their mouth "Ahh I wanna sell my console I bought on launch day without doing any research because I assumed that there'd every studio would have a game out in the first year". Whatever. Maybe Sony shouldn't have had IGC for the first 6 months. That's the alternative.

Even if you order today (Thursday) it's just gonna get stuck in processing and nothing will even start happening until Monday. When the conference is.
Running out of Vita games to buy now.
I ran into that problem about 5 months ago. I have everything I want. And I already have pretty extreme broad tastes. I'd have to start buying things I don't want to buy games. Like Danganropa. BUT, so far, it's not bad. Just got into Chapter 1.

I wouldn't mind seeing PS1 games on PS+ again.

However maybe I just think that way because Japan does some cool stuff every now and then. I think last year they put a ton of interesting PS1 games on PS+. I used my free month to try a few out.

I can't imagine something nearly as nice happening in the West.

You have to rank it up to S if you want a competent AI.

what AI is considered "good"? Name me games pls

Any idea why my quests aren't completing in Conception 2?

I've killed like a hundred of these stupid mobs but it never seems to complete like it should.

Usually, when you download a digital version of a game you have already as a retail version the download is written in the same bubble as the retail, only adding the additional files.
Sometimes this works, but often it doesn't. If the games are from different regions it's probably less likely.
I bought several games in sales that I had as retail and with just downloading the games over I ended up with the full game installed but still asking for the retail card.
I don't have PS+ but cloud save might work.

If not, an easy way to make sure to not accidental delete anything and successfully transfer to digital would be:
Make a backup of the retail version on your PC and go the the folder of the game. This should be under ...PS Vita\Backup\APP. I think the default location is under my documents and inside are folders with random numbers and letters for each account and inside that are all games you have copied to your PC with folders like PCSBxxxxx.
Just sort after date or look inside the sce_sys folder to see the game icon to find the correct one.
In this folder there is another one called 'savedata'. Backup this to another location (or move the whole game (PCSBxxxxx) to another one).
Delete the game on your PC (under PS Vita\Backup\APP) and Vita.
Download the digital version and backup to your PC and repeat the steps to find the correct location.
Copy the saves from the retail version into the folder of the digital version and transfer the game back to your Vita with the content manager.

This worked for all my games. But unfortunately I don't have Dragon's Crown twice so I can't say if it will for that, too.
If it doesn't and you want to continue on your retail version just move the backup of the backup back to the PS Vita\Backup\APP location and transfer it back. As long as you keep the save files somewhere secure you won't ever risk your lv 99 Elf :)
