I liked The Witch's House and all, but... Why? She's never even been on a console, let alone one of Nintendo's. Honestly, I doubt she'd even be in that Indie Brawl game from awhile back.

Because she is an awesome character from an awesome game and has an awesome design. What more do you need? And its not her fault that she hasn't been on a Nintendo console. Her creator probably can't afford dev kits. She was made in RPG Maker after all.

and it's a roster around the size of Melee's.

If they can manage to get in any of Crash, Spyro, Snake, Lara, Cloud, Dante, Rayman etc then great. If not don't bother with third parties. Having none would be better than what was in the first game.

It wouldn't be all that good a solution, considering Lucas was mainly differentiated by his normals. And that would also mean they'd need to go the trouble of modeling, texturing and rigging a new Lucas model, as well as importing his voiceset and recording announcer calls - if they were going that far anyway, they might as well add new new visual effects to his Brawl moveset and give him some custom moves to bring him back as a veteran.

Well... it's TECHNICALLY possible. It'd suck since it would still mean losing Lucas's unique normals, but it's not like Lucas never had a Yo-yo.

In fact, it's implied it may have been Ness's Yo-yo, or at least in some way attached to him.

I guess I'd accept it if Kumatora became DLC or something and took Lucas's old normals with a new forward Smash. Heck, she could have an alt of Poo since they both use their fists and learn similar moves right down to Starstorm. So long as that moveset comes back in some way.
