If they can manage to get in any of Crash, Spyro, Snake, Lara, Cloud, Dante, Rayman etc then great. If not don't bother with third parties. Having none would be better than what was in the first game.

So guys, I've been thinking about it... this has been a week of all 3DS menu pics, right? If we get another menu pic tonight, what if it all cumulates in a look at the starting character selection screen for Friday's PotD? That'd be pretty badass and not totally out of the question, I think.

I'm fairly confident the leaked Character Select Screen features the entire roster, and that there is nothing left to unlock.

Think about it: Everything in the leak comes from video footage shown to the ESRB. Thus, everything has some bearing on ratings. Check these images again -- you have potty humor (Wario Waft), gambling (Spectator Mode), drugs (see "grass" in Training), T&A (Krystal, Candy, Barbara, Twinrova, Tharja, Tiki, etc), realistic weapons (the missile reference, possibly Bowser Jr.'s cannon), religious references (Devil Car, Demon King, etc), personal information (Miis, location), and more.

And the Character Select Screen? I think that's a chance for ESRB to see every character in the game. So they can know that the characters, in and of themselves, are nothing inappropriate.

As for the lock icon on All-Stars -- that could've easily had been recorded before the CSS was fully unlocked.

I think you're right, but I'm also pretty sure that there will be DLC characters.

DLCs don't have to be submitted to the ESRB, as long as the content is in line with the main product. They can also be easily released at the same time worldwide. There's no better way to keep the interest high after the release, just like what they're doing for Mario Kart 8.
