So since Smash releases over there soon I wonder what they will show so they can not surprise us.

I would expect the direct to be focused on Smash, maybe FF Explorers, a Pokemon tidbit, maybe a few e-shop titles if there are any and maybe 1 or 2 surprises. Otherwise that's it.

Maybe a new Bravely Second trailer?

On the bright side, if we don't get an Americo Direct this week, I think this JP one won't focus much on Smash and that we'll get a Smash-centric one regardless from NA/EU very soon.

Oh, that is unfortunate, I wonder what Nintendo has for 3DS then there wasn't much this year.

it wasn't empty at all, on the other side. if they have to focus more on Wii U (as we have seen at E3) considering the third party support and that 3DS is in its 4th (?) year on the market) it's quite normal to me.

I don't think there will be another 3DS Smash Direct as I think the details of that game have been laid out pretty well aside from a few characters, stages, etc. I do expect a Wii U Smash direct eventually as there is more to cover.

It was. Third party support was good but if you have a 3ds for great first party games there is nothing to play this year

I wonder who will do the presentation...

Has anything been said about Iwata's health lately, I mean since he went through a surgery?

I have the 3ds for games. first or not. and I had very good game to play, this year, honestly, both first and third, and we will have others before year ending. Pokemon and Smash among others.
If you are saying that 3DS saw better years, I agree. Even if Smash could change this perception of mine.

Yeah, it might be for Wii U and 3DS, or one for each. I think they'll just want a way to showcase at least 1-2 more newcomer trailers before release, is all. Maybe we'll just get a newcomer reveal (or reveals) with no Direct, though, like we did with Lucina.

I doubt it will be focused on Smash if it is Japan-only.
like we did with Lucina.
...and Robin.

Yes. I deleted the great games, so as you see, most of the lineup you list is not interesting. Pls stop defending for any reason, will you?

Wild prediction: Japan getting a new 3DS redesign, which has a Smash/MH4G bundle, other regions need to wait for winter.

I want a Japan Smash Bundle!!

it will be an hour of Sakurai bitching to the Internet for the leak

and then ending with smash delayed to march 2015,just because

Awe yes. Feels like its been a while since I've seen a direct, or time has just moved extremely slow lately.
I would love to have MM3D announced, but I'm looking forward to possible surprises. What kind of surprises? Who knows, but I'm hoping its the kind I like.

Unfortunately, after the very good period around E3, it seems that Nintendo did a couple of step backwards in terms of communications (and contents, maybe). FatalFrame5 and Pokken Japan and Arcade-only announcement are a jumpo backwards, to me, especially if they are actually planning to bring those game to Wii U in the West.
This Japan-only Direct, it's the third misstep to me. Very sad.
Btw, I'm expectin 2
DS
things ;p

Wow, just...

You do realize people have different tastes, right? The fact is their 3ds output this year was still high. It just maybe didn't have as many games that interest you as last year's.

Again?

Fatal Frame 5 is probably a bit away from a release over here, so it's obvious they don't do a Direct for the West as well, I don't see anything "sad".
And, also, so many people explained the reasoning behind Pokken Tournament's announcement that I find more "sad" saying it's a step backwards in terms of communication when it's just how the fighting scene is in Japan.
I think you're a bit too pessimistic, seeing problems where they're actually not present: there are no step backwards in these cases, it's just that those are specific things that are considered being a better fit for different ways given specific circumstances (like FF5's coming much sooner in Japan than - eventually - over here and Pokken being handheld by Harada like a Tekken / Soul Calibur / basically any big fighting game with arcade releases as well, basically ).

Now, this Direct being only for Japan, right now, IS a possible step backwards, since it's a general Direct about 3DS, and not a third party only like the last one. THIS is the case where we can debate about it being a step backwards. But not the others. One thing is being rigthfully pessimistic and another is being overly and cosmically pessimistic, Aostia :P
