If they really wanted to kill us with love
(fanservice)
they would take everyone who's still alive from the original show and have them all hook up for a group laugh and a freeze frame as it zooms out fading to black.

I got reminded of How I Met Your Mother opening.

And then realized that if grandma katara ever told the story of how she met Aang, it'd be How I Met Your Father (who is also the Avatar)

Janet Varney has a podcast hosted by The Nerdist.com, the JV Club, and she interviewed Bryan and Mike yesterday (I think).

They don't talk about Korra, although it's a great listen if you want to know really personal stuff about those guys and how they think.

What they do mention though is that they recored the podcast at Nickelodeon because Janet still has to record some lines. And P.J. Byrne posted this picture of him recording for Korra two weeks ago:

Looks like they're recording some extra voice work for when the animation doesn't completely sync with the original recordings or they are changing a few things. But, Book 4 seems to have several scenes animated already.

Hmm not much to grasp from that image. Kinda looks like someone from the military maybe?
Hopefully we get a flood of information at the NYC Comic Con about Book 4 and a release date.

Still think book 4 is gonna end like this.

I hope not the show is after all called The Legend of Korra that would be Enterprise levels bad if they finished the show in that fashion.

Not necessarily like that, more like all of them standing over season 4's villain. Think of the shot of Zuko and Katara after she traps Azula.

Oh wow... does that mean we'll get Book 4 even before that? This year? I don't think so, maybe all English speaking regions will get it at the same time.

Still, that's pretty quick.

Also, it seems the rest of the world will still get Korra on TV. Book 3 and 4 will premier on TV and online at the same time in Australia.

Ratings don't matter as much to Nick in Aussie/NZ, they only show content produced by US Nick so they can pretty much air what they want.

Oh wow, we finna eat so soon

Yeah i'm pretty happy at just how soon we are going to get Book 4 no more waiting for over a year for the next Book. Guess this also explains their comments about not being at the next SD Comic Con.
Wonder if they'll show off an new episode at NY Comic Con like they usually do?

So Happy!
Not Korra though she's still pretty sad.

Really sucks being a Venture Bro fan the length between seasons kill me.

Guess I was wrong about the premiere date, though I can't read the article on IGN's site due to a 500 error. I wonder if they're planning anything special for the ATLA 10th anniversary since that is also in February.

They announce that the fourth season is finished, but cancelling it regardless.

Big News for Studio Mir they are going to co-produce up to four TV animated series over the next four years with Dreamworks Animation. They sure are going to be busy for the next 4 years as 78 a season is quite a number of episodes to be doing.

DreamWorks Animation Inks Co-Production Deal With Makers of 'The Legend of Korra'

Studio Mir announced Thursday that it inked a pact with the Hollywood giant to co-develop and co-produce up to four series over the next four years. Each series will be comprised of 78 episodes and will be the largest international joint venture of its kind for the Asian country.

Also a thankyou message from the studio about Book 3.

Good news, I am excited what Mir is doing next. Hopefully they get good writing again an don't get used for mediocre franchise projects.

Mir has been consistently knocking it out of the park. I haven't been all that impressed by the few episodes of DreamWorks series that I've seen, but if Mir keeps doing 2D animation it could be interesting.

Doesn't say too much about the airdate for Book 4 just a general idea of when it'll air. So around Jan/Feb next year for Australia.

For those who can't see the article.

The Legend of Korra fans will be pleased to hear the show’s final season is only a few months away with a Nickelodeon representative telling IGN Book 4 will premiere in Australia in January/February 2015.

Nickelodeon also said Season 3 of the show, titled ‘Book Three: Change’, will premiere sometime in October.

Both seasons will screen on Nickelodeon but will also be made available in full on day one through Foxtel Go and Anytime services, with iTunes following shortly after.

Nickelodeon Australia’s decision to distribute the show through multiple platforms is similar to how the latter half of the show’s third season was distributed in the US via Amazon, Xbox Video, Hulu, Google Play and Nickelodeon’s own on-site streaming service, after the show was abruptly taken off-air mid-season.

Good news, I am excited what Mir is doing next. Hopefully they get good writing again an don't get used for mediocre franchise projects.

Nice to see that Studio Mir have got another project to work on straight after Korra finishes. Wonder which franchise Dreamworks will give over to them to make a cartoon of considering most dreamwork films at this point already have a cartoon right now.

Zaheer definitely looked better with long hair. Looked more badass and more menacing with it. Also as weird as this sounds, I kind of think his voice matched better with the long/hair beard. When you shave someone's head, it really changes the way they look and their age. Granted, a lot of people hated Henry Rollins voice regardless of hair vs no hair. I understand the criticisms and think it's valid.

But that's another subject. Yes to the hair!

I actually preferred short hair Zaheer and thought the voice fit better because he looked a lot like Henry Rollins after the haircut. :P

I'm hoping that it's a new original work instead of an established Dreamworks franchise. I really want it to be the next successor to the Avatar/Korra franchise.

Hrm. Doesn't Dreamworks have an exclusive deal with netflix?

Either way, I doubt it will be an original franchise. Dreamworks purchased a huge number of "classic" franchises a few years ago, and they will be looking to leverage them.

Its coming out in Australia in January.

Sweet thanks!

But what about the US?

I'm sure the US will also be getting it Jan next year doubt that Australia will be getting it early ahead of the US. Its just a matter of how they will release the episodes right now. Expect more news about Book 4 at NYC Comic Con.

But what about the US?

It won't come out later. So either same release in January or before Aus. But I can't imagine we get it in 2014 winter. Would be insane. December at the earliest, but even that's crazy. I predict the release date will be the same as Aus so the Jan/Feb release for US.

If we are getting it that soon, fantastic. They are deep into production and that gives them 5 months to finish. And if its all digital, then its not that unrealistic to get a first month 2015 release.

Cool. I was afraid we were going to get it later. Thanks guys.

Nah. There is no way they would release it later. I would imagine the bulk of the viewers for Korra are in the US. Would be pretty strange to release the last book in a different region before their main market.

Still, I don't blame you for wondering. It's kind of bizarre that Australia got a release date first. But I would chalk that up to someone just asking the right questions. I'm sure the closer we get to it, there will be an official announcement and NA will either get it before or on the same release date.

So what if Korra replaced Aang?

Korra's decision not to kill Ozai in the final battle comes after three seasons of gradual character growth - from a brash, angry, violent girl who has to be stopped by Katara and Sokka from squashing a kid like Zuko like a bug in their first encounter, to a mature young woman who's learned the value of restraint and the wisdom of showing mercy, and compassion, even to one's enemies. The decision carries more weight than Aang making the same decision because killing Ozai is what Korra wants and what would be easier, but isn't necessarily what's best for the world or brings balance.

The decision carries more weight than Aang making the same decision because killing Ozai is what Korra wants and what would be easier, but isn't necessarily what's best for the world or brings balance.

The reason that Aang was having difficulty with the decision was that he lived in a more brutal world, where everyone from his personal friends and past lives were encouraging him to kill Ozai, where he had reservations. Korra is less likely to have ever hit that roadbump and wouldn't have stopped and considered whether she should kill Ozai, unless some other element of the plot had her do it.

That said, it's a misconception that people who naturally don't want to hurt others also don't struggle with the impulse to hurt that which they see as unjust. Aang did not feel that way in particular to Ozai, but the sand benders that took Appa away know that even someone as pacifistic as Aang can be pushed.
