So we still don't really know what use the item is?
I dunno, I still think it's just a lot of lucky guesses and some clever use of photoshop.
If they haven't talked about it now, then it's safe to assume that it's not going to happen.
Robin Kirby and Shulk Kirby seem like they might be hard to tell apart on the small screen. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Shulk Kirby looks like

This is a Alt Costume?

I'm never going to use anything else.
I really wonder why today's Direct wasn't international. It was packed with the kind of content we would normally get from a worldwide broadcast...
But we got a Smash trailer, so I actually don't even care. Today was good.
You not being serious are you?
As if 100% identical footage of Shulk wasn't enough.
Yes.

Will make any victory so much sweeter.

Guys I'm starting to think the leak is real.
Nintendo Directs are prerecorded though. I have no doubt they've been preparing for PAX too, but I get the feeling they could have gotten it done...Dunno about NOE, but NOA was likely busy with PAX, so they didn't have time to localize. Not to mention, the direct was mostly japan-only stuff for THIS calendar year (MH4U, new 3DS, etc are coming out NEXT year in the US).
The only thing internationally releasing this year is smash.
A new piece of hardware seems worth a worldwide show on its own, even if not launching this year. A Smash trailer makes it even more worth showing every where. The rest could have easily been filler about some upcoming games or whatever.Product launches are always tailored to specific regions. NoA and NoE will probably have different offerings for "new" 3DS, including name and faceplates, that haven't been finalized yet, in addition to having totally different launch windows.
It allows you to float in the air like Peach's float in the previous games.
Anyway, is the C-Stick on the new model that... really tiny looking button? If so, doesn't really seem like it's worth getting. I mean, I am in the market for a new 3DS just because my OG one is well... becoming more and more inefficient but I dunno about the New 3DS lol.
Also, looks like (based on the stages shown in the overview video) we are indeed stuck with a terrible stage list for the 3DS version. Disappointing.
Ghirahim
Ghirahim appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. He moves like an acrobat and will attack with both sword and knife. Attacks against him will not fell him, and he can even teleport back into action should he get launched off the stage.

Phosphora
Phosphora first appeared in Kid Icarus: Uprising. This cool beauty will soar through the sky at high speed and shoot lightning bolts. Attacking her will make her flinch, but you cannot defeat her.

Mother Brain
Mother Brain from the Metroid series is an enormous Assist Trophy that fires vertically tracking laser rays. Fighters caught in the rays will rack up numerous hits and damage, so it's better not to be in front of her. By the way, it's possible to defeat Mother Brain by attacking her.

All of these directs were clearly photoshopped. That's not even Iwata in the japanese one, it's a rubber mask.
You guys are all idiots, I knew it was a fake immediately.
You'll get to play Xenoblade on that 3DS =P
Also certain assist trophies can be attacked now? Was this in Brawl don't think I tried attacking most of them when I was playing.
True, I think that's right. If i recall, the 3DS LL was shown off in a japan-only 3DS, and then announced in US via press release, etc. Not announced in a US direct.
I think NOA/NOE not having their own directs is our punishments for the leak.
The rigging on that costume's really wonky, though. Worse than both HFT and ZSS - the shoulders and hips especially just look really bad.
Maybe they should have bulked him up so he actually fit the skeleton.
Can't wait to hear Kirby say "MUHNADO BUSTAH"
Your opinions and my opinions... are like the exact opposite. I think i've found my evil doppelganger.
.
bring it
the fight is on
Iwata died in hospital but it was covered up, the Iwata you see in directs is just a photo of little mac angled differently and painted over to look like Iwata, I don't know how noone else can see this when it' so obvious!
Normally my wife would kill me but I've been saving and sold some action figures since February that allowed me to save up for these. That's so much money for figures I may not even use! 150 bucks for series one is a lot.
I can afford it, but my girlfriend would kill me. Sigh. We'll see. I think i'll pick and choose for now (based on my favorite nintendo series), and then once the game is out and I know my mains, i'll buy their amiibos, too.
And then, if they're not impossible to get, i'll round out my collection over time.
So... when brawl had a 5 minute feature trailer... Ness and Lucario were leaked.
Start combing the trailer, guys!
What do you guys predict...
Will only ONE of shulk's buffs be worth using, or will the upsides/downsides to each one make it worth cycling depending on the situation? I really hope he's balanced enough that a skilled player will benefit from using ALL of his buffs, and not just stick to the 'best' buff.
I can see speed/damage being used at the start of the fight, depending on who you're facing. I can see shield being useful vs final smashes or certain characters. I then see the KO one being used if you have low percent and your opponent has high percent (or if you know it's a sure-fired kill). I see jump being used when you're at a mid-high percent and need the extra recovery help.
It'll be really interesting to see if people can fully utilize them all.

I just realised Norio Wakamoto is in Smash.
Holy shit.
Buster will definitely be the most used throughout the match for combo purposes, and Shield or Speed for when you're close to death percentage. What do you guys predict...

His adaptability has the potential to make him one of the best characters in the game so I'm hoping his default moves are mostly terrible to make you focus more on switching modes.

Glad that Riki got in somehow, adorable!
And speaking of alts now that Shulk gets a swimsuit, swimsuit alt for everyone pls!would pay for DLC if that was the only way to get Lucina in a swimsuit
I just thought something. Smash is having a huge marketing campaign right now, however it's mostly for the 3DS, as that is launching first. How are they going to keep the hype high for the Wii U version? Probably by continuing with the PotD and then... what? All the game content will be already spoiled from September onwards.
Seeing what they're doing with Mario Kart, I can't shake the feeling they're going to send out some free updates and free DLC. So what I think is that the leaked roster could be the final one, but 5 more characters could be revealed after the 3DS version comes out, included in the Wii U version and given as free DLC to 3DS users.
He's the voice over at the end of the Shulk trailer.Who does he play?
