Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 14: Snake... had a hard life

What's the the deal with Chrom? Is he AI-controlled or does he replace Lucina for a few seconds?

Also, RE: Fire Emblem Awakening. Robin is the player's character correct? So they'd get priority over everyone else; maybe 95% of the time (maybe next time Pokemon Trainer).
Pretty sure he just comes in for Robin's final smash, and attacks with Robin. I don't believe we've seen Lucina's.

Is hope a reason?

49 characters is such an odd number, and the bottom two rows have wacky alignment. I wouldn't be surprised if we know the final roster, but I'm pulling for at least one more unknown character.
Locked All-Star Mode is a reason.

Huh? Chrom just comes in for a canned animation in Robin's Final Smash.

Hmm that is true. Forgot all about steetpass.
Wonder what the reasoning for that is.

I think the Dojo mostly had a focus on in-game visual content that was (largely)
available in both the 3DS & Wiiu version.

Smashrun content aside, we haven't really had detailed information
about anything outside of just regular matches on the dojo itself until recent weeks.

I'll pay ludicrous prices for DLC that swaps Lucina for Chrom, and Shulk for Dunban.

I'm feeling super irresponsible with my money Nintendo! Take advantage of that!!!

Guys, I'm starting to think Ice Climbers are not here because Kirby ate them.

IMO, of Mewtwo isn't in, he would be a Pokeball summon by now. There is a huge roster of Pokeball summons, but no Mewtwo. It is odd that he hasn't appeared at all.

Maybe Mewtwo is in a Pokeball but isn't getting shown off before release because that would disappoint a lot of people.

Eh... I don't know. No character has ever been downgraded to AT or Pokeball. Sakurai might see that as more insulting than just cutting the character(I know I do). He wasn't a Pokeball in Brawl so I don't see why him not being in 4 means he should be a Pokeball in that game.

Bah just under five weeks for those of us that can't read kanji :/

(Hopefully slightly earlier as I've gone with ShopTo...)

Always get my game early from ShopTo. <3

Going with Amazon for Smash, got it for £26.86

I still don't think CPP is in.
Why wouldn't they have annouced it earlier.
That seems like a feature they would pretty clearly let be known and not held in the shadows.

If the CStick works and Iwata said they do the same thing, why not?

But either way, customisable control schemes for both games have hardly been explained, regardless of how likely they are.

Do we know if there's an option to show damage % on the upper screen?
My eyesight is pretty poor so not having to constantly switch between top and bottom screen to check damage would be great.

I just don't get how that quote means the game has it.
I'm not saying I don't want CPP. But seemed like a assumption to me.
Then customizeable controls doesn't mean CPP either.

Didn't he not show up in Brawl until people found he was just a trophy?
Mewtwo was being worked on as a character for Brawl, but was cut. He had files on the disk. It makes sense that if he was cut from production, they wouldn't have time to implement him in another way, either.

Not showing Mewtwo as a Pokeball would be like not showing Ridley as a stage hazard because it would upset people. Sounds a bit silly, doesn't it? If it would really upset so many people, why do it at all?

no ice climbers
no snake
no jigglypuff

most unique moveset cuts of any smash ever

;_; god is dead

But they didn't show Ridley either. That's exactly what they're doing.

Jigglypuff is in.

Do you guys think Shulk will get 4 colony tops and 4 swimsuit as his alts? I really wish Sakurai will add the jungle set.

As much as I'd like every costume to be a unique armour set, it's likely going to be the case that there'll be 8 palette swaps based on the two models we've already seen. Similarly, despite how great it'd be for Robin's costumes to vary their classes, hair and facial features, the standard male and female models in different colours is likely all we'll get.

That makes absolutely no sense. If Ridley is a stage hazard, it has basically already been said without saying it. Leaving it ambiguous all this time, while building fan expectations, is a horrible way to treat fans and promote your game. I still 100% believe Ridley is in along with a Zelda newcomer. It might not happen until the Wii U version, though. I could see Sakurai saving some juice for the second release.

We live in a world where Ganondorf is still a F-Zero racer. I don't think Sakurai cares about fans that much. Especially with Big Ridley jokes and skipping viable Zelda newcomers such as Midna and Ghirahim and going for the Assist Trophy option instead.

I feel that the trophy theory has already come to pass - we've gotten our Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Zelda and Metroid "newcomers" in the form of Robin/Lucina, Palutena/Dark Pit, Sheik and ZSS. It lines up well enough with what we know of the roster, and is more plausible than another Metroid character being playable.

Sheik and ZSS already existed though.

Sheik and ZSS already existed though.

They were characters with unique movesets, but being considerably revamped and given their own selection slots puts them in a slightly different category from most veterans. They aren't actually newcomers, but they are the closest thing their series will get this time around.

One-off sidekick characters do not deserve to be added to the roster. Midna and Ghirahim would be weak choices. Impa and Demise are both much better options. Ganondorf has been explained by Sakurai several times: many fans have become attached to his moveset. We also don't know his full moveset, or what custom moves offer him.

Sheik and ZSS are not newcomers.

I like to replace all the Ridley talk with snake .
So long as it isn't metroid specific it usually works out great.

MGS x Metroid crossover pls.

Right. Still waiting on that. I hope by many fans he doesn't mean himself and his development team.

With this in mind, it's vaguely amusing that most of Snake's hitbox issues in Brawl are speculated to come from being too big in early development - when his model was scaled down, not all of his data was altered to match.
