Mushroomy Kingdom and Flat Zone II are pretty meh, but the rest of the 3DS retro stages aren't too bad. I just hope that what we've seen isn't the full stage roster. It desperately needs more new stages - and, ideally, an N64 stage or two.
I can't wait until a copy gets out early so we can finally see if the ESRB video had all the characters and stages or not.

Yeah, it's better to be surprised if we're wrong than to obsess over who any remaining characters could be.
At this point, I think most people are expecting DLC to 'finish' the roster later on.
I'm not expecting anything beyond it, not in the base game, at least.
But I do think there'll be DLC at some point.

Random Japanese Miiverse Reactions To Shulk
1. I didn't think Shulk would be playable in this, but I'm really happy that he is!!! Thank you so much!
2. I had no intention of buying Smash Bros., but hearing that Shulk is going to appear has forced my hand. Thank you Mr. Sakurai. Also, I'm really grateful for you putting Star Force in Mega Man's Final Smash too.
3. I've never played Xenoblade so, to be honest, I'm not really excited, but he seems like an interesting character. I'll try him out a bit.
4. Shulk being in doesn't mean that the leak is true. Especially speaking of that Duck Hunt joke character, especially.
5. You can feel the hatred from the characters who missed out when you read the word 'normally [wouldn't make it in]'.
6. I want you to tell us the Wii U release date, not about new characters.
7. Foreign people will no doubt be quite excited for this!! Of course, Japanese users too. Think I'm going to buy the Xenoblade remake next year; I've never played it *sweats*

I'd have preferred Rolling Western's Dillion be announced, because he's an animal, doesn't carry weapons, and could represent download-only games...Maybe Shulk's only in to promote the the Xenoblade remake releasing on the New 3DS!? ... nah, probably not
14. If you wanted to put a swordsman in, Roy would have been just as good. Hurry up and announce some Mother characters
15. Doesn't really fit Smash....w He might suit a game like BlazBlue or a fighting game more (Smash might be considered a fighting game, I guess)

I'm not super convinced that it's final but I do accept that it's possible, if not likely. Expecting more than fifty characters is a little unrealistic.

There is already a lot of Kid Icarus content in this game and adding Dark pit sounds like a bit too much.In 64/Melee Sakurai settled with Kirby and in Brawl , he added Dedede , Metaknight and then Pit who would become character of his.Smash 4 has added Uprising like system , bunch of items , assist trophies , stages and 2 more characters.
Dark pit isn't even a interesting character and has the personality of an anime girl that can't express how she feels and resorts to acting annoyed and violent at times.

I don't believe anything that wasn't shown in video as far as the character roster is concerned, but that's not to say I'd be surprised if ones like DHD and Dark Pit were actually in.

No, it doesn't. The 3DS build and the Wii U builds had different character sets. What you're showing is the 3DS E3 build's character set.

Who the fuck decided Mushroomy Kingdom needs to be in needs to be sacked.
It's mainly this stage plus GHZ, plus Warioware, plus Distant Planet plus Flatzone II that make me feel this way.
I've actually heard people say they like Elektroplankton, hence I didn't mention it in my post at all -- I already acknowledged 75m as probably the worst Brawl stage. NPC is... it's tolerable, it's definitely not as bad as Mushroomy Kingdom, IMO. I would have taken NPC over Mushroomy Kingdom.
That being said, it's still a pretty terrible selection of past stages. They couldn't find a balance for the 3DS version between non-gimmicky/hazardous stages and gimmicky/hazardous stages? I mean, who actually likes Flatzone II? On top of it being a walk-off, the hazards on it are unbearable for about more than half of the phases it has. I just don't get it.
Where's Smashville? Where's Delfino Plaza/Luigi's Mansion? Where's any stage that was actually decent or better than Mushroomy Kingdom, Flatzone II, and Distant Planet? I would quickly take Frigate Orpheon, Pirate Ship, and hell even Pokemon Stadium 2 over any of those three stages.
I just need a Greogrian Chant version of the SNES Rocketbet theme.I would LOVE for Delfino Plaza to be back in the WiiU version. That's my most-wanted Brawl stage. Although thankfully, either way I'll still have the Pilotwings stage, which scratches a similar itch with its sun-soaked charm.

People actually liked Luigi's Mansion in Brawl? Distant Planet was a million times better, everyone I know actively avoids the mansion.
Is there even a consensus on which stages the gaming population like (not that I'm arguing with the picks in this thread I'm just curious)? I think they said they had Brawl online data which suggested a lot of people liked Final Destination maybe that data influenced stage choices?

Just for clarity: Brawl had awful awful stages, so I'm not surprised that some bad ones made it in.
But I think there's a clear line between "The worst" and "bad".
Stages like 75M, Rumble Falls & New Pork are on a whole different level
than just "bad" smash stages.

Not sure where people are getting more chars in that tweeted pic. Other than the fact that it's at pax which we know is the e3 build, It looks exactly the same. I can even see samus in the exact same place as in the e3 build. Are people just getting confused because it's zoomed out?
