Delfino Plaza. I rest my case.

Seriously though I think it has the best balance between great straight stages and great gimmick stages. Fantastic inventiveness in stuff like Warioware and great designs with stuff like Yoshi's Island. Chuck in most of the best Melee stages and you got a winner.
Also I grew up in the Gamecube era so I have a bias towards games rep'd in Brawl.
Depends what you consider "content" to beAm I the only one content with the 3DS stages?
I really like Reset Bomb Forest, Spirit Train etc. etc.
I'm quite puzzled at the bolded, frankly. Why would Japanese people think Xenoblade is much more loved overseas? To me it seems more in line with Japanese tastes in general, and I don't remember it selling all that spectacularly in the west. Did it bomb horribly in Japan or something?

Being more complicated isn't always going to mean you're actually betterAm I the only one that fails to understand Sakurai's idea of balance?
Link: He said that Down Air Spiking is almost too good and makes him overpowered. This might not be in final game.
Little Mac : Decided that he needs really poor recovery and little to no air ability to be ground only character.
Third party : Decided they all needed springs that shoot them high in air , nothing else works for them.
Newcomers beside Little Mac : Power+Good Recoveries+Counter+Shields and for characters like Shulk Modes.Rosalina is pretty strong character and people haven't even tapped into using Luma.
Seeing all these things make anything that some of veteran characters have look outdated.
Down-B: Counter
I hope people stop putting this fucking move in their character wishlists for Smash 6.
No fountain of dreams. Why green greens sakurai? WHY?!

Well, that happens when fags want gay swordmen as characters
Brawl has a great selection of Melee stages, but a lot of original stages are really uninteresting. Most of gimmicky stages are disposable. I far prefer Rainbow Cruise or PokeFloats to the likes of 75m or Hanenbow. Flat Zone 2 is worse than Flat Zone. New Pork City is dreadful while Hyrule Temple was one of my Melee favs. Too many stages were simply platforms floating in front of the background, while I felt Melee's stages were more incorporated into the background (the aforementioned Temple, StarFox stages, Peach Castle, Big Blue).
And where is DreamLand 64 for that Gourmet Race goodness![]()

Some of the worst Smash stages ever, bar none. I'd nominate Spear Pillar, but that one is both awful and the greatest stages ever. But overall, Smash did have some really good stages as well. Luigi's Mansion, Delphino Isle, Halberd, and Lylat Cruise (really hoping it comes back in Smash U (minus the tilting, but I doubt it)) were some of my favorites.

I dismiss scrolling stages not because of their concept but because every single scrolling stage they've introduced simply have not been good or fun. Every single one of them has had annoying flaws that keep them from being enjoyable. They have not proven to me they are capable of making scrolling stages actually fun. Plus, they have the same inherent problem walk-offs have: camp the blastzones and get lame KOs by throwing people towards the blastzone. I don't know how that's fun for anyone and having a "rule" for it to stop it from happening only proves that the stage is bad.
I agree. Misses Dreamland for true perfection, but is
above Melee and SSB64 by far.

Was that due to Operation Rainfall? Maybe it should be called a Japanese-designed WRPG.Xenoblade sold significantly better in NA and Europe than it did in Japan
I think that has more to do with Sakurai wanting to play up the idea that boxers excel on their feet.Little Mac : Decided that he needs really poor recovery and little to no air ability to be ground only character.
Are there any sales figures available or are you just assuming that?Xenoblade sold significantly better in NA and Europe than it did in Japan
Agree with this. I do find it a shame to see some series ignored completely, but I still have enough to have fun with. Hopefully the Wii U one goes all out, though.I think most of the new 3DS stages look great, if they play as well as they look I'm content.
I don't just stage selection by number but mostly by how many stages range from good to great.
