Hey guys how is it going here toda-

Well, that happens when fags want gay swordmen as characters

I'll come back later

Pokemon trainer was counted as 3 in Brawl. Nintendo and Sakurai both counted them as 3 in the character total.

Didn't the official commercial say "Over 40" though, implying less than 50? I suppose they just didn't want to reveal a specific number before the game was released and preferred to keep speculation rampant

Gotta dig non-spoiling commercials.
Also over 50 automatically is also over 40, so they aren't lying!

Funnily enough I've had some of my most fun 1 on 1 encounters on Pokefloats.

THEY SERIOUSLY NEED TO BRING IT BACK.

I'm so mad that they hadn't brought it back in Brawl and it seems like the 3DS version doesn't have it either. :(

He was a junior, so it was an automatic permaban.

I was banned as a junior during the Dark Knight shooting thread and was banned for breaking the rules when I really hadn't. Fortunately I was brought back. I don't think this dude will be back anytime soon however.

Well, over 40 isn't wrong even of it's over 50. I think that with the amount of characters officially revealed (35?) saying over 50 would be sort of a too much information thing.

Or maybe it's because there are only 49 characters. What do I know. I'm a bear. I suck the heads of fish.

There will be over 50 character slots for sure.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too, especially after hearing that Ash has a lot of big news that he can't tell us about. I doubt they'll be available at launch though, it probably has something to do with Smash 6.

ICs also got pretty screwed over in stages.

If Summit at least had grabbable edges and no slipperly floors (I know it's an ice stage, but it doesn't make it not annoying), I would've liked it a lot more. The music is damn great too, how it changes when the stage goes through each phase.

I kind of liked Summit, yeah it was a little small and slippery, but it was unique and the speed it got when changing from phase to phase was awesome!

i hate Icicle Mountain so fucking much I got a headache just for seeing the picture.

Some of the worst Smash stages ever, bar none. I'd nominate Spear Pillar, but that one is both awful and the greatest stages ever. But overall, Smash did have some really good stages as well. Luigi's Mansion, Delphino Isle, Halberd, and Lylat Cruise (really hoping it comes back in Smash U (minus the tilting, but I doubt it)) were some of my favorites.

Am I a bad person for legitimately liking both of these stages? They're both great fun to mess around on and completely change friend's playstyles when we end up with 'em on Random.

I absolutely hating moving stages as well.
Because it's too easy to get stuck. Which is why I prefer stuff like Delfino Plaza instead. Moving but not as annoying.

Poke Floats was brilliant. We unlocked it during an afternoon of 4 player SSBM shortly after it came out, and it was a total surprise.

I liked Big Blue and Brinstar Depths also for the chaos factor.

75m is the worst stage across all of the first three games, IMO.

Poké Floats was one of our most played stage in SSBM. Just because it was so odd with all of the floating but not moving figures of Pokémon. I think I unlocked it with my sister ant we had such a blast, first time we played it :D

You gotta love being forced to fight ness/lucas and the 2 DKs on newpork or 75m in classic and allstar...It more of a test of patience to kill any of them due to how absurdly big the stages are.

Maybe character specific target smash was a sacrifice made for Subspace so they can bring it back this time. Or maybe this is just wishful thinking...

After looking over all of the newcomer’s special moves and getting a sense for how Sakurai tends to design movesets, here are my Duck Hunt predictions:

Standard Special Move - Zapper
Hold B and move the control stick to aim a reticle, and release the button to fire a shot complete with flashing glass pane visual and retro sound effect. The dog doesn’t hold a gun or anything like that — it’s assumed that you are the first-person hunter like in the original Duck Hunt (this helps justify the character name since it comprises the dog, duck, and hunter).

Side Special Move - Clay Pigeon Trap
The dog pushes his front paw down onto a spring-loaded device that fires a clay disc at a slightly upward angle. This device will remain on the stage for a short time, and it can either be destroyed by attacking it or used again by approaching it and inputting the side special move command.

Up Special Move - Fly Away
This is the recovery everyone expects Duck Hunt to have — the duck flies away and the dog grabs hold of its feet. Mechanically, it’s similar to Villager and Olimar’s up specials.

Down Special Move - Scent Trail
The dog sniffs the ground, and he’ll either look confused, which does nothing, or his ears will perk up and he’ll wag his tail, which gives him a ~5 second speed boost.

Final Smash - Hunting Season
This is an enhanced version of the standard special that’s reminiscent of Snake and Zero Suit Samus’ Final Smash. Your duck flies away and the dog jumps off-screen, and you have 5-10 seconds to shoot at flying ducks (to recover health) or the opponents (to KO them).

That was interesting idea you had there. I have a feeling that it might be something complete different than we would expect.

While the roster is pretty good (outside of the probable IC cut) the stage selection is the only disappointing part honestly. no new dk, starfox, or Yoshi stage while getting 4 new mario stages hurts

I think Nintendog might be for Duck Hunt but who know if he's in *shrugs*

I can usually tolerate most Smash Bros. stages, but there is one exception:

Where are you even supposed to fight? The lone leaf on the left is too small (and half the time too slippery to walk on), the ones at the top are too close to the blast line, and the leaves on the right have an annoying gap in the middle. This is why you don't lazily port stage designs from other games that have mechanics that don't work with Smash (see also: Mario Bros. and 75m).
