Anime has been shit for a long time and it's either more of the same or becoming incredibly immature.
A show like Naruto or Bleach had the potential to be amazing but it just dragged on and on. And then there's the onslaught of weird moe pedo shit.
Anyway the GB people like Wrestling and Videogames, you can't take them too seriously, when they say they don't like Anime.

I haven't been interested in anime in years, although I was big on dragonball/dragon ball z/sailor moon/digimon seasons 1 and 3/cowboy bebop and lupin the third.
People hate on highly sexualized female character design (and not necessarily wrongfully so).
I don't think there's anything remotely wrong with sexualized female characters. It's with how uneven it is. I want more sexualization, but I don't want it to be just women, I want every series with big bouncing titties to have Free! guys too. I want the sexualization to be equal in terms of ridiculousness.
Did you just...conveniently ignored crappy guro and over-violent OVA from 90's era? Like anyone said, it's all about the information access, internet makes it easier for us to see the 90% of sturgeon especially when we are not living in the origin country.
Yeah, and I am not a big fan of american sitcoms or office shows, I rather watch action shows like Person of Interest or Arrow. Even if the mainstream goes in a different direction, you still find shows that interest you and don't have moe, harem and/or schools. This moe and japanese obsession with harem and schools is ruining it. I like anime, but not that type. I'll sit down and watch Hunter x Hunter or Fate Zero... or Attack on Titan.. or Gurren... or any of those shows that actually avoid the moe/cutegirl crap.
Everything give haters ammo. That's why they're "haters", they can take offense at everything and nitpick every single flaw. Give me anything where nobody jumps out of a bush and argues against.I still like Anime, but a lot of the current day stuff gives ammunition to people who want to hate it. Even the good shows give the haters ammo.
As I said, there IS a quality anime but it's not as much as before!
I'm in (mostly) the same boat. Despite trying a bunch of series, I feel I've only found 4 or 5 anime series really enjoyable in the past... 10 years?
Oops, I truly forget about that crap it seems it was wiped out from memory also I have not seen any ova in recent years so I can't say anything about it so I'll talk about anime series in the last decade .
Compare 2004, 2005, 2006 to 2011, 2012, 2013 and tell me how much quality animes was produced in these years?

Oh, we're playing that game now.
Oh, we're playing that game now.
Seems like that. But I don't want to have that picture just standing here uncommented, especially since there are actually people on the nostalgia trip where everything was paradise before nowadays ruined everything. His not serious with his post, check his spoilered part.
[1] (forgot the name), Kids on the Slope, Space Brothers, Hellsing UltimateWhat anime are those in the "right now" section?

The mainstream is indifferent. Only anime freaks feel the burning rage.
Let's compare lists of quality anime TV series for two years. (This is going by my personal frame of reference, so no pretense to exhaustiveness.)
2006:
Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales (mostly the Bakeneko arc)
Bartender
Black Lagoon
Code Geass, maybe
Gintama (though the early part wasn't as good as it would become)
Hataraki Man
Honey and Clover II
Kemonozume (the first half, anyway)
Nana
Ouran High School Host Club
2013:
Eccentric Family
Encouragement of Climb
Flowers of Evil
Gundam Build Fighters
Love Lab
Minami-ke Tadaima
Pupipo!
Rozen Maiden
Silver Spoon
Space Battleship Yamato 2199
Yowamushi Pedal
Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta
No, I can't really agree with your premise. Aside from 2007, which was an unusually bang-up year, I think the last decade has been roughly on-par year-by-year in terms of number of quality TV anime, with somewhat stronger and somewhat weaker years as the case may be.
But those pictures are such classics:He's not serious with his post, check his spoilered part.
Well I think you dropped a lot of the 2006 list and included some not worthy of 2013.

As much as I enjoy Free! for its gratuitous fan-service, I think the industry needs to tone it down and focus on upping the variety of its character designs, including less aesthetically pleasing ones. Stuff like Cowboy Bebop and Guardian of the Spirit were great for their variety cast member designs.I don't think there's anything remotely wrong with sexualized female characters. Right, I cencorbared the breasts. Although the Back Then section is a bit wonky for itself. Hm. I better write something at the picture. At least one of those images is NSFW.
I don't think there is a causation, but I find there is a correlation between if someone hates anime, and if they are insufferable. I think it is because if a person is so judgmental on something so niche, it probably means that they make a point on being negative on anything they don't deem "worthy."
GB is bad a lot with that just because of how hypocritical they are about it. They will say anime is terrible in one breath, and then praise stuff like Asura's Wrath and MGS2. It makes it look like they hate anime only because it is "cool" to do so.

Also that short-list ny Aaron doesn't even have Baccano, Spice and Wolf, Durarara, and Mushishi.
The past is always looked upon fondly because only the good stuff (and the REALLY bad stuff) are remembered. This is far from an anime only occurrence.
Which is the essence of why this argument is dumb, because people have different tastes, and just because you don't personally find as many enjoyable anymore, doesn't mean anime has changed. I think, this might sound crazy, but you might have just gotten older and your tastes have changed.
