Its happening man! This is basically the FFXV hype thread. We hyping like there's no tomorrow.

For all you nay sayers, leave your negativity out of this thread and join us after the conference for our unanimous "I told you it wasn't going to show up" discussions.

persona 5 trailer
FF15 release date
Silent Hills teaser trailer(different one)
MGS5 release date
The last guardian

....I think I am putting too much faith in this conference

only thing i actually expect is a silent hills teaser, and it's not even with that much confidence. prove me wrong soony :(

Didn't they already shoot down a potential Last Guardian appearance? I thought I remember reading some quote from Shu about it.

wait wait wait

why are we expecting FF XV footage at this thing? I'm lost . . .

FFXV Changes Domain Just Before Sony’s TGS Press Conference so people are a bit hopeful..plus its worth noting that FFXV had no appearance at E3 or Gamescom..so TGS is the last hope for the year if it doesnt show up at TGS, jump festa is the other candidate and the vicious cycle goes on.. lol

I would honestly keep expectations in check. All of the insiders have been quiet. Anything that's shown will be geared towards the JP market.

It's really how much Sony views the JP market and if it's something worth investing in. We'll most likely have a few surprises but don't expect MEGATONS.

Also, this event is still in the first year of the system so it may not be entirely telling about what games Sony is working on since we kinda know how sadly slow JP devs still generally seem to be when building HD games, so even if they are working on pretty decent projects, who knows if they are ready even if they would totally help being able to be revealed right now. When even faster studios are targeting mid-late 2015.

Gravity Rush 2
Most hyped up sequel of TGS.

More like most hyped up game of ever. Can't fucking wait.

Was Gravity Rush a fun game? I am suppose to get a vita by the end of this week (may cancel based on what shows at TGS)

Oh yes. Best character movement in any game ever, fantastic protagonist, and the combat is really fun if you push yourself to fight with style. You can easily kickspam your way through but if you mix it up you'll have a blast.

I know its not relevant, but I wish Sony would start a studio that focused specifically in making Jrpgs.
Hell, buy Mistwalker and build on that. Just a small, slightly impossible dream of mine. Hironobu Sakaguchi is an idol to me lol.

I really really really want to believe. But I'm afraid we'll turn into the TLG group. Empty shells of broken promises. I can't take it.

I agree. A lot of the stuff I'm looking forward to is stuff I already know for sure exist. I expect Danganronpa 3, Disgaea 5, and Gravity Rush 2 to show up in some capacity because I already know all three of those are happening, and they've been all teased in the past. The other one is Persona 5 which is supposed to be out this year but so far there's been nothing between now and the teaser from last year I think?

There is stuff I'm expecting at the show but not at the conference, like Metal Gear Online 3 info.

Honestly I'm still excited for the stuff I know about, but I know there'll be one or two things that catch me off guard.

Yes, it was a lot of fun, though some find a bit of the combat repetitive so the combat will hopefully continue to be expanded on in the sequel now that everything's in place. Great game and Kat is such a hugely likable character. Also, fantastic soundtrack.

He was obviously just trying to hide the fact that they're gonna announce it at TGS. Read between the lines!

Yeah, it's one thing they're really missing which is just really weird to think about since JRPGs continue to be such an important genre in Japan, I wish they had put together a lot of JRPG talent into atleast one studio.

He was trying to hide the fact that it's not The Last Guardian anymore. After all the hype it was getting they've decided to make it a series with yearly entries. Starting this holiday with The First Guardian: The Legend of Dragoon.

Weren't there some articles circuling around Gamescom claming that Sony would show sowmething impressive at TGS? Or was that just related to Sillent Hills?

I just think it's mind-boggling that you can announce a game like Final Fantasy Versus XIII and then go years without saying anything, until to re-announce it as Final Fantasy XV and yet again let the fanbase wait for 1-2 years so far for anything new related to media.

For this Pre-TGS should I expect any announcements. .wouldn't they just hold everything until the real event?

This isn't Pre-TGS. This IS TGS. If they have anything they deem worthy of to announce at in a big meaningful way they would do it now. But adjust your expectations accordingly because a lot of the games will be aimed at mostly Japan aka lollocalizations
