He's by no means iconic in the franchise and just has an actual personality in a single game, but Aran Ryan and his cheating tactics would make a hilarious AT.

I like that idea. Make Bald Bull or Mr. Sandman into a Ganondorf clone, and make Ganondorf his own moveset.

Wish Aran Ryan had more importance. He's is one of those characters who would lend himself to a unique moveset because his movements are so damn weird, and his personality is hilarious.

My guess is that since Shulk's FS is cinematic, Sakurai and Co didn't have an issue with having Riki appear as both part of Shulk's final Smash and an Assist Trophy cause you'd never see both at the same time.

Agreed big time. Certainly one of Next Level Games' most inspired moves, taking this dude who was a non-entity in Super Punch Out, and make him totally mental.

Yoink - Steals something from an enemy
Happy Happy - Fills the party gauge
Freezinate - Ice damage

Yoink will probably steal... Hp? A STOCK? an item they are holding? lol
Happy Happy is probably a stat boost
Freezinate seems simple enough

You know, this will probably be untrue, but I want to be that lone correct nut in that one in a million situation

Tingle will be playable. When he unlocks, the Tingle AT is changed to DavidJr.

A person of fine taste. They'd sooner put Mona (whom I like) in, I'm afraid, but darned if I wouldn't love to kick ass as Syrup. At least give Land more recognition this time around, Sakurai!

I actually changed it from Syrup to make it a little sillier.

Also, throw Mr. Saturns on that list in Dixie's place. And Doc Louis in Impa's place. Mr. Saturns work as a 5-man group and Doc Louis can mode-switch between a defensive stance and an offensive stance.

I've been in support of Jimmy T simply because I think a dance based fighter could be fun, but I don't mind who it is. Even if it means the Konami rep is never Snake again, but Disco from Dance Dance Revolution, I need my dancer!
 
Guys why do you choose great tiger? I mean, what makes him better as a rep than King Hippo?

And do you really think an assist trophy can get to be a PC with dlc? :/

1. Guys? I'm literally the only one who knows well enough to support Great Tiger as the best Punch-Out!! rep. :v To answer your question, King Hippo is popular and well-liked, but he's fairly boring. He could be a heavy character, but he lacks an interesting arsenal of attacks. Great Tiger meanwhile is lightning fast, super tall, can teleport, levitate, create after-images (which could be great for a moveset with a lot of fake-out attacks), and can utilize the elements for his attacks.

2. Why not? Nothing says that an AT can't get upgraded in the same game.
 
A tiny bit disappointed that Sakurai doubled-up on Riki as a Final Smash and Assist Trophy. Would have loved to see any other party member take Riki's place in the Final Smash.
 
Kenichiro Taka made me cry at his game's reveal due to how amazing it was...I will be back to talk Smash tomorrow


(Senran Kagura assist trophies would be cool)
