Yes! Most of the variety comes from the players and the way they interact, not the settings or the stage or the items. Just playing normal matches over and over stays fresh because ideally both players are learning and adapting, or trying new things.Yeah that's just something that doesn't appeal to me. Atleast in those you get to choose stage and stuff, Smash Run is just the same stage every time with a random minigame on the end.
And you can't even interact with the other players on the map can you? It'd be like playing dota2 except all you do is kill jungle creeps for 5 minutes until a random minigame happens.
I don't think I ever even used special Brawl in Melee/Brawl/Project M now that I think about it, the character and stage interactions are enough to keep me going for years.
True! And I'm hoping they do go all out with it a bit. I am looking forward to seeing what it has to offer. What if Smash Run has more to it, than what we've seen?
They could do a mode where you team up with 3 friends and defend certain parts of the map against waves of enemies. Or a mission mode where you keep getting new randomly generated challenges on the go (no loading screens) until you lose all your stocks. There's a lot more they could do with Smash Run.
I Believe.

Ice Climbers
Mewtwo
Chorus Kids
Mark my words, for they are right. Mark them.
I'd just accept that roster as final (its very good) and then be pleasantly surprised if there's any other characters. So can we be 100% sure that this POTD means the ESRB leak wasn't final? I really want Ice Climbers back, but I don't want to get my hopes up for fear of getting disappointed again when the game is out.

Pic of the day. This time, you can challenge every fighter in All-Star Mode from the moment you turn on the game!! This is a survival battle with limited recovery items and no option to continue. However, this mode will be incomplete until you've unlocked every fighter... Until then, you can only play against characters that are already available. This is a picture of the bottom-screen menu, with a padlock indicating that the mode is still incomplete.

In these battles, multiple opponents appear in one stage, and you clear the battle by defeating a number of them. The rest area that appears between battles displays the next opponents and the year the characters made their first appearances, and it also holds recovery items and an occasional reward. The characters you fight against appear pretty much in chronological order. Behold, the history of Nintendo games!!
No, this PotD doesn't confirm or deny anything, except that All Star is playable from the start. It doesn't tell us anything relevant to the implications beyond what the leak already told us.So can we be 100% sure that this POTD means the ESRB leak wasn't final? Where is the new metroid rep? Where is the new Zelda rep?
Making these last 8 POTDs interesting!
Customization was turned off. It has been discussed to death.
Who's really left? Tingle, Ghirahim and Midna are out, Zant and Vaati's time has probably passed and the handheld bosses aren't really memorable. The only ones I can think of are Impa (who knowing Smash would probably be a Sheik clone and does Zelda need more clones?) and Groose which would be funny but I doubt.

No, we can't. There are multiple save files in the original leak reel, so it's very likely that the roster we saw was the final roster. It can go either way, but I wouldn't get your hopes up.So can we be 100% sure that this POTD means the ESRB leak wasn't final? I'd trade the 3ds version for 1-2 more characters in the wiiu version. Once its out the amount of time I'll play smash 3ds will drastically go down
These will be playable:
Lucas
Wolf
Ice Climbers
Mewtwo
Chorus Kids

It's not about not wanting a portable version of smash, its about not wanting the next console version to feel gimped in terms of stages, characters, and modes because the 3ds version happened. The only 3ds mode I care about is smash run and it would suck to lose it, but I doubt it'll get much play once the wiiu version is out.
Wario being locked does make me think IC could easily be unlockable this time for whatever reason.
I don't get where people are seeing all the replay value in smash run anyway, I can't see myself playing it more than it takes to unlock all custom moves.
Yep. Sounds about right. Maybe Lucas gets cut for Impa or RidleyThese will be playable:

Wolf
Ice Climbers
Mewtwo

I don't think that's the case. Usually Sakurais' games are stuffed to the limit. So there's probably not much more space on the Wii U disc for more content in the end.

I think we've seen the final roster, and quite a few agree with me. There is a similar amount of people that strongly disagree. Everything is kinda up in the air.
Like I said though, I personally think it's much more likely that we've seen all we're getting.

I know 4-6 friends getting Smash for 3DS so im excited to play with them, gather better equipment and practice, then challenge them again.
If i didn't have a group of friends buying the game I wouldn't really be interested in smash run myself either.
If you look at the trophy shots, the 'total trophies' are not always the same, so we have reason to believe that not all video clips were recorded back to back.
How did I miss that?!I didn't see these posted yet, but after the hilarious Reyn Commentary Trailer, people made versiosn with other characters.

No Melia or Sharla yet.
Yeah, I'm not worried.
There is and there will be tons of content, the leak didn't show everything.
I won't be surprised if an unlockable Smash Run stage was there.

Poor Sakurai.I does confirm, Sakurai hasn't really unlocked all characters himself yet (see padlock).
That's why he was so angry last week and only gave us menus. Because the leaker spoiled the line-up to Sakurai
I'm only disappointed by the lack of solo content on the 3DS version.
No Event Mode and no Adventure Mode :s
That's why I'm hoping for TONS of challenges.
My question is, what does the lock icon represent if it is unlocked from the start?
Nah, I got my 3DS with MK7 more than a year ago, and yet I still play MK7 more often than I play MK8 simply because I carry my 3DS everywhere, and I don't usually have the time to sit down and play for long sessions (which is how I like to play console games).
The 3DS version is a godsend for me. I wouldn't trade it for 10 characters.
I does confirm, Sakurai hasn't really unlocked all characters himself yet (see padlock).

Sakurai is the developer of the game. I'm pretty damn sure he knows who all the playable characters are.

Is the map randomized in Smash Run, or is it always the same? (Enemies are randomized, right?)
We *might* still get Event Mode. It's possible. I'm hoping for tons of challenges, too, and KI:U makes me hopeful.
There was another rumor? Was it Americo only?Pretty much same, really. My 3DS goes everywhere with me and cracking out a game or two every break will be awesome.
By the looks of it, that Nintendo Direct rumor was false?
Poor visual design?
