I hope they go that way. Of course, we will get some fun stories and jokes on the way, and Im sure some character will be the comedy relief one, and Im all for that, but I really hope is not going into the dark end of the world (how a 15 years old likes dark) stuff. We are past that and that is why i didnt like much P3's story.

Maybe the main character is a nerdy guy this time that needs to make friends, who knows.

Also apart from some songs I enjoy a lot more P4's soundtrack. Im not much into rap though, so no pitchfork for me.

If there is one thing where I rank P3 over P4 it's the soundtrack. Loved especially the final battle track.

Oh man, I know what you're talking about. I have a fat and a slim. Had to send my fat out for repairs a couple of months ago, and when it came back, it was totally silent when I turned it on. It actually freaked me out a bit.

You know, for some reason I never thought about using the word 'serious' at all while I've been posting in this thread. You're absolutely right that P3 was more dark for the sake of saying the game is a dark without having enough seriousness to go with it.

Yeah, I'd like P5 to be more serious than P3 and 4.

The only reason I was still keeping my PS3 was because of Persona 5. Now that a game I want so bad is coming to a next gen system I don't own but planned on getting, it's just too perfect of an opportunity to pass up. Persona 5 on the PS4 will be for me what Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were for me on the 360, which is the biggest motivating factor for why I must own the system.

Prior to this Uncharted 4 was my biggest reason for wanting a PS4, but, honestly, not finding myself much too excited by the other things I saw happening on the system, I was beginning to waffle a bit on whether even Uncharted 4 could do it for me. Persona 5 erased all that doubt the instant I heard it confirmed for PS4.

Car manufacturer logos as Persona school emblems has been known for a very long time now. I believe one of the developers even denied it in an interview at some point, though the inspiration is obvious.

Im more of a fun type guy, so thats why I liked a LOT more P4. Still I wouldnt mind having a more serious story with P5. Of course, like you said, when Im talking about serious is not the dark edgy stuff, but more in line with normal character lifes and situations you can find in Catherine. Like people can crack a joke or two in a conversation but still talk of serious things at the same time. The social conversation with the characters in the bar is the stuff im talking about. Characters can still be tropes (thats how people like or hate a characters, and I think is essential when you build one, even if you are trying to reverse that trope) but be great.
Also even during serious stories, friends can feel like real friends like in P4 (aside from being so wacky it was best at doing that), and not the crap they tried to feed us in P3.

Battle for Everyone's Souls more than makes up for it. One of the best boss battle theme's I have heard period.

While I agree that P3 had the better OST(Especially if you include P3P's addition with the FeMC), there was at least one standout. Persona 4 had a decent OST.

psp remake of 2: IS has broken random battle encounter rate. Which would be a nice challenge if all the enemies weren't made easy as hell. Otherwise, good story at least even if Lisa is annoying as hell.

Yeah, and I kinda get the impression that some people may confuse the two, as if one was necessary for the other.

You don't need shit like strega and end of the world stories in order not to be upbeat like Persona 4 was (and I loved it for that). That was just lame as fuck, and I really hope when people say they want it to be darker, they actually just mean more serious, instead of this kind of stuff.

Depends on how well you can tolerate old PS1 JRPGs. Persona 1 and 2 duo-logy are really good games, but they've aged rather poorly. However, the story and characters are really good. Especially P2 duo-logy which has, in my opinion, the best story and characters in the series.

Innocent sin is on PSP as a remake and PS1
Eternal Punishment is on PSP as a remake that never got localized so the only way to play it in english is through the PS1 version on PSN

Do you like mainline SMT games? It's kinda like that. Not sure what else to say. I like P2 the best but P1 still is a fine game. If you son't mind older JRPGs you'll probably like it. P2 has proto-Chie in it. ;)
