Know your place, junior.
I love you juniors, I can't bully anyone <3

Speaking of Project M...
Which show is it?I've always wanted to watch that show, but I haven't gotten to it. Perhaps now is the time.
It's not so much what they're putting in the mod that bothers me, it's how they handle it and how the community treats it. It's as if they think they're making an actual entry in the Smash series rather than modifying a game to be more like another game. People have been modding Brawl for ages, but those mods have all been treated as mods. Project M is starting to get into entitled territory. People put it on a pedestal and treat it as if it's one of the games in the series when it's not even a game period.
In short, what bothers me is how Project M has been handled and treated. It's not a game. It's a mod of a game. That said, I actually like a lot of what's put into it.
Hoooooooooooooly shit! Can I have the link to this please? That is glorious.

I would've been okay with that back when Project M was a humble venture, but not anymore. They've changed it way too much and it no longer feels right. I'd want to play as those characters in a game that actually still feels like it was made by Sakurai.
I don't know what this is supposed to imply.
I'm already "letting" them enjoy it. I was just stating my feelings on the matter. I don't plan on boycotting it or anything.Just look at it like you would Garry's Mod. Let the people who think it as its own thing enjoy it, and hey, more than 90% of the Smash community in overall will know what the main entries are.

How many people here play (mostly) Project M vs. Brawl? I'd never even heard of PM until I joined smashgaf, but it seems like it's the standard around here.
Sadly, it likely won't be available until the next revision is released.

None of my friends are the type who would notice the difference with Project M (and I have a PAL Wii), so while I still play vanilla Brawl more often when I'm by myself I default to Project M. Sort of sucks I can never play it with anyone else though. How many people here play (mostly) Project M vs. Brawl? I know it's not new. It's just that the Smash series means a lot to me and most other games that get modded don't. Remember that I'm only stating my feelings. This isn't supposed to be a debate topic. This isn't exactly new. People have been treating mods as new games since the early days when they were released on disc, if they are extensive enough which, honestly compared to other Brawl mods, is very extensive. (Brawl Minus Maximum the exception) Some folks just do that.
I'm sorry, but I can't not take it personal. There is a good reason that I feel this way and I can't just change it because somebody told me things I already know. I don't hate the PM devs, the mod has just come to a point where it bothers me.Don't take it personal. It's not like a bunch of modders will ever upstage the amount of the work from creating the game scratch.
I'm not. There are specific reasons as to why I feel the way I do about PM, but like I said, this is was never supposed to be a topic of debate. I was just stating my opinion.I feel like you're projecting and overblowing it out of proportion. People enjoy it since they prefer Melee's mechanics with Brawl's characters, and they added a ton of neat extras/easter eggs, and the work they put into it exceeds any console level hack I've ever seen outside of retro gaming... but I don't see people putting it on a pedestal outside of enjoying it as a more tourney friendly game at the moment, and it's more "fresh" than Melee and even Brawl.

It's cool. I read your post wrong.I'm just offering advice. No intention or agenda to change how you fell.

Joe has the right idea!
I won't lie though, if down the line there is a Smash 4 mod that brings Lucas back like Project M brought back Mewtwo and Roy that'll be my preferred version of the game.
Project M is fine, but people who delusionally claim they could make a better game based on them tweaking a 3 year labour of love are smoking some serious ganja.
I do. Delivered in about two weeks. The software works great, but you have to use Window Capture because Game Capture crashes while streaming.Anyone here have a 3DS XL/LL capture card from katsukity? How long would it take to ship to you? And how's the software?
Kind of want to get it for Smash 3DS's JPN release.
I can't believe it took me all friggin' day just to catch up with you people.
Anyway, I'll post today's cleans tomorrow, assuming I don't take all day to catch up again (hint: I probably will). In the meantime:

If you take Project M changing the game personally, I'd hate to see what happens when you see the nude Samus mods.I'm sorry, but I can't not take it personal. Hey guys, so what if Sakurai decided to release the game this Friday, with a patch to iron out those bugs in October?
I think it's an interesting point of discussion, anyone else?
The difference between Smash 4 and Brawl is that Nintendo themselves can add more or modify the game after release. It will be interesting to see what they may do.
It's not gonna happen, but many 'games' got their start as humble mods. It's usually a PC thing but I see no problem with Project M doing the same. I'm a fan of faster paced smash yet I want to play with the Brawl roster, therefore it's great for me.
A mod of a game is still a game is it not? It has rules, boundaries and is played.

The game has already gone gold, so I don't see there being any additional bugs.Hey guys, so what if Sakurai decided to release the game this Friday, with a patch to iron out those bugs in October?

he's releasing it next friday
why would he move the release date up just a week?
It's a setting in Open Broadcaster Software. Uses screen capture instead of direct feed from console. There's quite a few settings I had to play with to get my stream looking good.Is Window Capture just the software in windowed mode?
Thanks. I think I'm ordering it.
