PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

When I downloaded Velocity 2X earlier the download stopped at just 15mb and when I turned my PS4 off it did the whole three beep error thing. I'll try again I guess.

These are my two cents. Danganronpa is no 999/VLR, it is a completely different beast. It's more of a parody, it often breaks the 4th wall even. It's very self aware, it knows that it is silly, so in order to contrast that they throw "bombs" at you. For example, Monokuma, the main enemy is voiced by the same guy, in the same way as Doraemon, the kids show. Imagine what it'd be like in America if you had an iconic figure of your childhood become a murderous, maniacal mascot aha.
Danganronpa 2, so far is I would say a much more improved take on the game, you can tell the devs learned from the original and went beyond in order to make the sequel even better.

Long story short, if you own a vita, and you like VN/adventure games, you owe it to yourself to play this series.

Okay, then I gladly check this out latter on :D. That concept of a Barney-esc character becoming a murderous being.....that is just way too good XD! Thanks for the response man :).

I bought for that price Danganronpa on play asia, but now they are delaying the shipping until September 10th... well I have a huge backlog anyway.

does anyone else feel that Don't Starve HUD is too small in Vita? Thats my only problem with this game.

Anyway, gratz EU people. They got D3/Demon Gaze discount before US and now Danganronpa.

It was also way too small on PS4 too. The devs seem to just don't give a fuck.

Yeah the UI felt very much like a PC one ported direct to console with minimal changes. Didn't try it very long...rougelikes that require a Wiki open in a second tab just to play them don't grab my attention for long.

It doesn't require that, in fact it's a much better game if you don't do that.

For some reason, I can't buy games on the webstore anymore when I'm using my phone. "The transaction could not be completed, try again later". Every single time.

On my computer, on the other hand, everything's fine. No errors.
I tried logging out, deleting all cookies and logging in again, but it still doesn't work. Anyone ever had the same issue?

Oooh nice. I'll just have to look around the FB pages or I'll just import the game.

Don't forget to try out the demo to see if you'll like it. I think it's a pretty good representative of what king of game/story it is.

You can think of it as a 10~15 hour visual novel (though I'd say it's more of a movie). 20~30 hours if you go around in a different order while finding the director/writer's notes. I'm not sure how you will accept the overarching story (
don't expect anything deep/shocking plot twist, I guess?
), but the main characters are quite well flavored. I liked most of the characters, even minor ones. There are also some pleasant surprise in it but I won't spoil it.

I also highly advise against going for the "joke response" on Yuuri's chapters. It does not only not fit but also destroy the atmosphere his chapters. There are joke choices on the other characters, too, and I think they should also be avoided. Except maybe Ressenti-Man.

The music (esp. the theme and the character's songs) are awesome. And the OST fit and was used by the game real well IMO (I think there's a post or thread about it here in neogaf). The motion capture and scenes' animations are quite good for such a game.

I see people who played 428 (their previous work) and say this wasn't as good. Some also complained the sudden switching of chapters, though I didn't mind them. I wished that some interface parts were quicker/user-friendly (like how the "gameover screens" → reload shouldn't take that long :/).

I don't think you'll find this game locally and it's definitely not worth the full price on PSN JP. Especially not when they have put it on JP PS+ so fast. To get you an idea, Amazon.jp has used PSP version at 500 yen, while used Vita/3DS ones are around 1000 yen.

I'm glad I have no willpower and decided to get D3 for PS4 against my better judgement. Game is absolutely best this way, controller support is perfect and the game runs so well. So satisfying to play before bed, just mindlessly beat up some stuff and get loot.

Still confused with what some of the icons mean, like why does a random grey dagger have a bunch of green up arrows next to the plus sign (HP I think?) while a blue axe doesn't, but doesn't seem to matter much.

Does anyone know how to access electronic manuals on PS4? Best feature of Vita digital is ease of access of game manuals, can't find anything similar on PS4.

If the game has it it should be in the menu under the icon on the home screen. I forget what sections there are, but there's a manual for Resogun like that It hink

It's the most fun I've had in a couch co-op game since Borderlands 2. Best of all, you can use the Vita as a second controller.

Not a problem, make sure to post your impressions when you do. Whatever you do though, don't look ANYTHING up online, not even names of characters. This game can be spoiled for you sooo easily. I'm pretty much staying away from anything related to DR2 until I finish it.

sigh.

hope Sony allows us to use Vita as a screen and the DS4 as a controller for Remote Play too

I'd imagine it'd be coming in the next coming updates if people are asking or once Z3 releases...or not, in the case they rather sell their phones than the vita.

Just putting my thoughts out there but V2X is best played on vita for the touch transport where as Dont Starve is best played on PS4. The load times on PS Vita is a bit lengthy in comparison.

Not sure about the manual, but you are correct on HP. It's basically weapon damage, armor, health from left to right.

And yes, the game is really good. I love playing it late at night while I'm in party chat or listening to a podcast.

After you get to level 60 and above, don't look at those arrow anymore. FIY, in order, it show the increase in "total damage per second", "defend", "HP recovery". Look at the weapon, the big number show the DPS, and if you look below, it show the real damage your weapon have, along with number of attack per second. Those are calculated toward your dps, so at the beginning, just equip whatever you found that has more green arrow than the one you have.

I agree that it's a pretty good game for couch-coop. I didn't play it much, only at weekend when I have friends come over and we partying while playing D3. The game feel much better than PC version just for that.

I never finished the first velocity on vita, i liked it but it never hooked me, gonna try 2X looks like an overall better game.

I really cannot get into PSABR. There are a lot of things about it that are good or bad, but the thing that kills it for me is the scoring system. I really hate the "only special attacks kill" idea, really makes me feel like I am doing a bunch of nothing for a while then I finally have a special attack, and god help me if I whiff with it. Would've preferred HP bars or falling like smash, or anything else really. There might be other modes that change the scoring, but I really don't like the default way it works.

If I like Virtues Last reward I should like Danganronpa, right?
Generally if you like VNs you'll enjoy Danganronpa. The premise is similar in concept but is much more absurd in presentation and style. The gameplay in VLR hinges more on its puzzles whereas Danganronpa is more about collecting evidence which ultimately becomes your ammo for the trials at the end of each trial.

The Virtue's Last Reward+Ace Attorney+Persona analogy is apt in my opinion.

I'm going to finish Saints Row 4, when i'll finish it what to buy?
I'm undecided between Sword Art Online and Neptunia, i will buy both sooner or later anyway, but what should i buy first?
Can someone make me a length/content/gameplay/story/fun comparison?

I like Ace Attorney. Sounds like I should like this. Oh screw it, I'm getting it. If this appears free on PS Plus in the next two months I'm holding you responsible.

Yadda long games, yadda awesome, yadda waifus, BUY THOSE TWO.

I don't know much about Neptunia but I own Sword Art Online and all I gotta say is pick it up :D!

Not only does it have behemoth amount of content (25 Floors of Alicard, the huge Hallow Area AND a randomly-generated 100 floor Mulitplayer area) but it looks great, plays very well and is well worth the 40 price tag :D.

Just to be clear Ace Attorney is a much more active game in comparison to DR1. However the sequel is generally hailed as building upon every single system present in Danganronpa 1 as well as ratcheting up the story further than the original so I hope you go on to play the sequel as soon as you finish the first game.

Alright, so here's an important question:

If I get MGS(1) on the German PSN store, will it be the original German release? Because I already have that on disc. It only features terrible German voice acting with no alternative language options. I want full English text/VO.
