PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Of the first or second? You guys need to specify since everyone seems to be playing one or the other due to sales and 2 just releasing.

I've been giving my impressions about the second one, since yesterday so I just kinda forgot to say that. Yes DR2. The better DR :P

There was a bit of a mixup I guess. Like you said lots of folks are still playing the first one. Rule of thumb is to not check or post any plot related stuff about it, but saying which of the two we are talking about would be helpful, you are right.

Seriously you guys gotta specify whether it's 1 or 2 especially if you're posting stuff behind spoiler tags.

Cool. I finished the first case earlier and OH MY GOD. The first case for 2 could have easily been like the 3rd or 4th case in DR1. It was that good. They some how managed to make the dumb rhythm mini game even worse though >_>

The prologue blew my mind. You played it so you know why. These people got better at these types of situations. I gave up trying to guess who did it. Unlike the first one, there're just so many twists and turns, I love it.

About the rhythm game, I would say it's bad... But half of these mechanics are just so different that I forget out to actually do them. Aside from that, game is a solid 10/10, I'm just so immersed into it.

Is EA UFC worth it for $31.49?

Depends. Do you want nightmares?

My biggest issue with the rhythm game was I felt the tutorial for it was bad. Maybe I misread it, but I didn't realize until I smashed buttons that X was to target and Triangle was to shoot the statements.

I have a weird situation someone might be able to help with.

I was at my cousin's place and I decided to update his PS4 and games with my hotspot since he has no internet.

I signed into his user profile but since he couldn't remember his PSN password I logged into PSN as myself, still logged in as his user profile.

Now he tells me when he goes to pick a user profile I show up and his is gone. Is there any way to fix this?

Do the same thing over again, only logging in using his credentials.

I really need to remove the F/E soundtrack from my phone. Everytime I put songs in shuffle and I listen to one of those songs, those "where is CCC?" feeling hits me right in my guts.

From here on out, I'll make sure to label I'm talking about Danganronpa 1 to prevent anyone from seeing an unintended spoiler.

Haha I'm playing the second game so I almost got confused there as well since I'm just starting into chapter 2 there. You're gonna be in for a wild ride though if you already like the first chapter :D

I like it better than all the Phoenix Wright games I've played. Mostly because of the cast and how extreme the story is told.

I had to butt in when I saw my friend failed 3 times in a row and still has no idea what he had to do.

And then they go making it more confusing in DR2.

Can't decide if I buy Disgaea 4 or Hyperdimension Neptunia. D4 would be because of the endgame and humor, HDN would also be because of the humor, but primarily I would be trying to kill some prejudice that I have.

Is danganronpa better than phoenix wright?

PW made me mad with the second case of the series, I stopped playing after that. I got so, so mad with what happened in that case that I just gave up.
So much despair.

Is danganronpa better than phoenix wright?

Absolutely. The complexity of the trial system in Danganronpa is miles and away better than Phoenix Wright. And I say this as a big PW fan (who has played every game). The investigation stuff + the trial stuff has much more depth then anything in PW.

That said, Danganronpa is a very stressful game. I don't want to say it's a "horror" game per se. But it kind of is? Some fucked up shit happens in it is all I'll say. Think Clue meets Saw meets Phoenix Wright lmao. So just because the game is IMO technically better, it might not be for everyone.

Not to scare you off or anything. But yes, I do think the core gameplay is much better.

Neptunia.

Thanks, I've wanted to play that game recently, even watched the first 10-15 minutes in Youtube to see if I would like it. It seemed fine. The only thing that is keeping me from buying it instantly is the huge amount of content in D4 postgame. If it didn't exist I would've bought Neptunia already.

When I finish the game I'll search for some crossover fanart of Monokuma and Jigsaw, haha.

I'm suggesting Neptunia because to fully explore any Disgaea post-game, you need to be skilled and grind a lot, something I can't seem to do.

Hmm, I'll take that in consideration too. Talking about difficulty, I still remember vaguely hating the "board" in D1, never could manage to persuade them. But it was a long time ago, so I might be forgetting something.

So I remember the general consensus for DR1 was to play on "Mean" difficulty to make the trials more interesting, is it the same in DR2? I went with Mean from the get-go, but haven't reached a trial yet to know whether the difficulty is about the same as 1.

Edit: I'm not asking in the OT for reasons. Really don't want to see anything about the game since I got the major plot twist of DR1 spoiled for me in the OT without properly marked spoiler tags :/

Will pick up Deadly Premonition and gotta get Warriors.

I'm torn on Bully - I have the new version on PC, but I'd love to play on a console again. But it's only 2.50.

Just finished Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate Vita. It was pretty damn fun guys for the 5 bucks I got it for. If you can get it for cheap i recommend it for some good metroidvania batman fun. This is coming from somebody who hates backtracking too, as it's not that bad tbh.

Apparently the PLAY 2014 $3/6/10 codes will go out by Friday, probably either email or PSN message like usual.

I was bugging to know, so I can wait and use it on this week's SEN shopping cart, but didn't want to possibly be waiting weeks.

I myself put the Logic to Mean and leave the Other option on Normal. I don't like the minigames going overboard, but I love having the harder difficulty option for the actual logic portion of the cases.

I set the puzzle as Mean, but the action at Kind (or Gentle works, too). Basically the Action difficulty affect how much your HP drops when you choose wrongly, and how much shit throwing at your screen in those mini-game. Even if you lose, you could just start over at the most recent deduction screen, so I don't see a reason to play at highest difficulty. Puzzle at Mean is almost a must, though. It make thing kinda complicated with more clues and choices making it harder to guess what's really happening based on the clues provide you at each debate stage. Beware that the first trial of DR2 is as long as the 3rd or 4th case of DR1, so I think it's harder than previous game.

Although if you want to stress your mind, set all of them to Mean. I also avoid the OT for the same reason :p. You don't know when you will step on a landmine.

Haha damn, I kinda regret setting both to Mean now. The mini games in DR1 weren't that hard for me even on Mean difficulty, these are a bit more difficult I guess? Is it the same as DR1 where you can change the difficulty after clearing a Chapter?

In DR2 you can set the difficulty before the actual trial even on the first try. I set mine for normal as of now as I'm still getting used to the new mechanics :D

Yes, you can. If you're comfortable with Mean in DR1, I don't think it will be a trouble for you in DR2. The Hangman Gambit requires a lot more work now, and there is that Sword play debate something that needs you to be quick with your execution, but I guess that's it. The Rhythm game is "hold to multi-lock and release to shoot" now instead of "pressing X to lock and Triangle to shoot" like DR1. I don't have trouble with all the other new feature/mini-games.

Your comment actually convinced me to buy it . thanks for that. I was wondering if getting this or akiba's trip I will get both eventually but I was just wondering which one I would enjoy the most . and with your comment I realize that I was really surprised when I played PW in the past. So if you say is better as a fan of that saga . now I NEED to try this
.

I played Playstation all stars yesterday. Waddya know. I actually enjoy it.

But god damn. The Ui and music is completely uninspired.
