Yup, game is great stuff. Didn't see 90% of the twists coming. How I managed to avoid spoilers this whole time baffles me. Spoilerino:

Wow, it has new game plus, holy hell. This game has everything. This may as well be chrono trigger 2 in my book, honestly. Top 5 JRPGs for sure.

Only good costumes I learned about today were FD and Galacta Knight. Wish I had pics though to see how awesome or disappointing they are.
 
Anyone else excited to go for trophy completion in Smash 4? I got every Melee trophy but wimped out on Brawl because I hated getting the SSE trophies. Excited I won't have to worry about that this time around.

NeoZeo's* apparently reliable but man I wish they weren't so cryptic. Considering they flat out said Ice Climbers/Lucas/Wolf/Snake are gone (at least outside of DLC), if there's more characters I'm leaning towards the five they 'predicted' when this ESRB leak first hit /v/. Dixie, Ridley, Mewtwo, Impa and Mach Rider.

*Is it Neo Zeo or Neo Zero? I keep calling them the former since that's how I originally read it a month ago, but whateves.

I swear, the Xenoblade spoilers on here are so irritating

I'm for once trying not to spoil a game for myself, and then they come up, and I really really really want to click them, but I can't

Robot Fiona
and
something about multiple Monados/Shulk becoming some sort of god at the end of the game
and
Melia being some sort of princess of another race (I think????)
for myself and I DON'T want to spoil anything more

And I fully realize how hypocritical that was of me, but still!

I loved playing as Lucas. His A-game was so ridiculously different from Ness that it's hardly fair to even call him a clone. Poor kid getting left out or relegated to an alt would be a crime.

Though, I guess an alt would be better than nothing. Still, hardly a good thing.
 
Shulk is probably one of the few JRPG main protagonists that I genuinely like. He doesn't fill every scene with angst, and when he does get a bit angsty, it feels more natural than most games. Plus, he actually develops out of it throughout the story.

I mean yeah, maybe you could accuse him of being a bit bland at points, but I don't see it personally. It helps that he has a great cast to bounce off - and Adam Howden really does do a fantastic job with the voice.

So yeah, go Shulk.

  1. Release Earthbound in North America with the worst marketing campaign ever devised
  2. Watch Earthbound flop hard
  3. Never release Mother outside of Japan again because Earthbound flopped

I'd take any of those six over Mach Rider any day (Most likely because I've never played Mach Rider.). As for the Chorus Kids: Yes, they're cool, but I'd rather have Lucas, Wolf, and Mewtwo back.
 
How the shit did Lucas make it to #5?! That's... surprising.

It's awesome, too, but if Lucas made it to #5 and Ness didn't make it into the top 20 at all, I will be... unhappy.

Sure, having a proper Lucas in would be way better, but at least he would be in the game. Just like Assist Trophies.

I HATE Assist Trophies, and I will never play with them on out of spite.

Shulk's one of the few characters that I've ever heard scream bloody murder and actually have it work.

There are a lot of Mother 3 fans in SmashGAF. It's a game everyone should play.

Also, Lucas seems more popular with people in general thanks to his more intuitive smash attacks and his more forgiving recovery.

Wasn't Mother 3 when it was still Earthbound 64 at E3 at least once? If so it's weird NoA changed their opinion on how to handle the series after it got stuck in development hell for five years.

I'd argue that everything but the last one are spoilers. Don't know how he/she managed to get spoiled when I didn't :/ All of them were a surprise to me, and i'm constantly on smashgaf. Maybe it's because as soon as I saw the word xenoblade or shulk I stopped reading.

Earthbound and Mother 3 are high up on my 'Gaming Bucket List', even though I already know all the juicy plot bits. I'll play them eventually.

Up to 56. Random will take up a slot. Mii Fighters will take up 0, 1, or 3 slots.
 
So were back to the tempting Xenoblade spoilers.....I swear im about to ignore all quests and just beat the damn thing.

I just made it to Alcamoth.....how far is that % wise?
