Mewtwo's primary form changed about as much as Charizard though (which is to say not very much at all). The female voice was exclusive to the movie and was a different Mewtwo than the one that originally appeared in the anime, not necessarily a retcon or anything.

He posted this immediately after the ESRB leak but a week before MFL went on /v/ again and threw in Dixie/Impa/Ridley/Mewtwo. Pretty sure nobody knew who MFL was on Smashboards at that point either.

EDIT: Yeah, what Sponge said. That image I was responding to doesn't seem to acknowledge MFL just pulled what NeoZeo had said a week earlier and threw it on /v/.
 
It really feels so strange to go from Brawl's "90% of our original Mother representation is based off Lucas' game" to the blonde kid being a no-show this time around.

I think Impa is the most likely 5th based on the four trophies hypothesis.

Well the thing is, every franchise before Fox fits perfectly. If you add anyone, it breaks everything. Adding two between Star Fox and Pokémon completes everything perfectly.

I do hope that mystery 3DS stage really is Mother 1 Magicant, and that Mother 1 gets some representation this time around.

Exactly, which means one of two things (in my mind). Star Fox has 1 more unrevealed character (likely Wolf) and Pokemon has 1 more as well (likely Mewtwo). OR Pokemon has two more. I'm definitely leaning towards it being one for both though. I don't think Fox's wolf color is a solid indication that he isn't in the game.

IF there is another character from a franchise before the row starting with Fox (such as Dixie) then they are going to be a clone and grouped in the clone corner.

That still doesn't line up Yoshi correctly, but yea, adding another Star Fox rep and another Pokemon makes everything a little better, although 2 more in addition to that in the single series row squares the roster off even more.

So basically Slippy and Pichu are more or less confirmed at this point.

They're just grouping Yoshi as part of the Mario franchise even though he's a spin-off and has his own icon. It's not that confusing.
 
I'm going to make a prediction that zelda/shiek is going to be in Oric's top 3 vet list... that's right, I'm skipping the unknown number 4 and going straight to the top 3 :P

I'm kinda torn on my newcomer vote now... I suspect I'm the only one who voted for them and if I'd voted for Ashley or Lip instead maybe they could've got into the top 5... why did you make us have to choose only 1 oric? whyyyy? @.@

While I still believe that the ESRB leak is the final roster, (would love to be proven wrong tho!) I'd say this makes sense too! Only thing is I would change Dixie's slot to "alt turned clone" or just "new clone" since people are just assuming Dixie because they want her. :P Could be anyone really.
 
I honestly think they're going to save Ridley, Impa, maybe K Rool and Splatoon Girl for Smash 5. Otherwise, they have nothing to market lol.

After unlocking Luigi, if memory serves. Luigi takes Pikachu's spot next to Mario and Pikachu jumps down two rows to start the Pokemon section.

If it's not just Luigi, it's after unlocking him and Dr. Mario.

You say that now but a lot of Smash 4 newcomers didn't exist when Brawl was out. I'd say the same will happen for Smash 5.
 
Another thought

Why would Miis need to replace the random spot if there's plenty of room on the CSS for them to have their own slot?

So either the Mii Random spot thing is fake, there are more characters, or Sakurai was on some serious stuff when he made the CSS.

Good point. Miis replacing random was always a weird concept. I guess you could argue they have DLC planned and want spots open...

I bet there's a leak coming real soon either way. Retail copies cannot be contained.

Rosalina, Bowser Jr, Palutena, Little Mac, Duck Hunt Dog, Villager, Pacman, Megaman and Mii Fighters all existed before Brawl. Only new comers born after 2008 are Robin, Greninja, Chrous Men, Dark Pit, Lucina and Shulk.

Having 6 newer characters + Ridley/KRool/Krystal/Impa & Co. would be easier to market than just 6-7 new characters.
 
Steel Diver fans, if you exist, what would you say the mascot submarine is for the franchise? I just went with the Garfish because it's the first unlocked in Sub Wars.

No. POTD thread and Smash 3DS OT are two separate threads.

POTD thread is for mainly NA/EU Peeps and Wii U peeps then Once 3DS is out for worldwide, then It's for Wii U POTD.

That's still 6 newcomers that didn't exist at that time. I'm saying even if they get low with old characters, they'll probably have a few new ones to give us too.

I'd say some characters we missed this time around might get in one day, too. I was surprised we didn't get Dillon or Wonder Red.

There is no way Random slot goes away. It's something essential.

I thought the Miis take up the Random slot? Also, I'm not really sure if we'll get Ridley.
