I love Fet so much, cool character. There's this cool part from the book that describes him as, "
Someone who isn't meant for the real world, waiting for it to fall into chaos so he can take charge,
" or something of that sort. Not a huge spoiler but better safe than sorry. Also, if they say it in the show, it'll probably have an awesome delivery.

Yeah, he's cool. I like the concept of an exterminator all of a sudden being flung into the forefront of a city-wide crisis and thriving.

There's a reason why the Master is the size he is. You learn about it pretty early in the first book. Maybe the show will go into it. Maybe not.

... That was an awkward sex scene, eph is so sloppy with no skill, he can't handle Nora

Then he says he loves his wife in front of Nora... Who is infinitely hotter than kelly

Eph's entire understanding of infidelity is amazing.

It's like they wanted to write a socially awkward character like Rick Grimes but just ended up writing a complete asshole like Don Draper.

The design was pure ass but whatever. I'm treating this show as some B-movie shlock now so I'm letting it slide. All I can say, the books is better than this.

The Master's face reminded me of a Muppet or like an ill fitting Halloween mask. I like the basic idea, but it just looked off. Like the actual makeup and special effects weren't quite there.

Granted, I haven't read the books so I'm sure he's described as looking far more badass there than the show where he sort of just looked like a big guy with really big elf ears,no nose and big lips.

It's really dissonant the way the Master is a giant oafish thing, except when hunting and he suddenly becomes a fast moving wisp.

I thought this show was being lauded for it's makeup. The master's face looks like a Power Ranger's villain.

Aside from that and the part where Nora has sex with Eph's wig for no goddamned good reason aside from creating drama, I thought it was a good episode.

I really hope that we'll see the hacker girl get killed off now that she's dropped the Palmer bomb, since she's dead weight and I really dislike the character.

Good catch, and it is explained in the books.

That character and Fet are my only hope for enjoying the show. I was so hyped when Del Toro said the show was a chance to fix issues with the books (mainly the insanely huge/fast tonal shift between the first two, and last book), but instead of being a better paced version of the series, it is just a spot-light on characters acting completely ridiculously.... when they even bother "acting" at all.

Something about the the face and eyes made him look really goofy. I wish they had just kept him partially concealed by the hood.

I have a thought for what might be happening, it's speculation, but I'll spoiler tag it in case I'm close:
From what we've seen I think there are 2 types of vampires. Infected vampires and normal vampires.

The master obviously is an infected vampire, but he didn't start that way. The kill team is led by a normal vampire. Normal vampires probably don't feed via the worm stinger, and they are not filled with the parasite. In other words, the parasite is not the cause of vampirism. The parasite from the master spreads an infected, parasitic form of vampirism.

That's my guess.

While you're on the right track of there being two different kinds of vampires (Quinlan the SWATPIRE, Eichorst, the Master & the rest of the Master Vampires to be revealed later), it has more to do with the process of being turned rather than two entirely different species of vampire.
