To get people ready for Season 2's premiere, FX (Canada) is airing a marathon of The Strain's first season. I've got it all set to PVR, and am excited about it, since I've been wanting to watch it and just recently got the channel.

What should I look forward to, though? Is it dark and scary? Plodding?

I'm a big fan of shows like The X-Files, early Supernatural, Six Feet Under, and Breaking Bad. I also love good horror.

Do you love bad horror? Cuz if you do you'll love it :)
Guillermo del Toro pulls no punches that its a throw back to good old horror fun that wasn't always the greatest literary material. Sounds like Season 2 is gonna divert from the books more.

If our definitions of bad horror are the same then no, but if that's what you'd call classic 80s slashers and the like, then yes.

I don't really like overly cheesy, or "so bad they're good" movies. A lot of indies fall into that category, because they end up being shit like "Vampire Lesbians From Mars."

I liked the pilot quite a bit, so hopefully I'll like the rest.

The one thing that worries me, though, is the vampire mythology. There's nothing worse in horror movies/TV shows than drawn out, boring and complex vampire mythology. That's why I hate a lot of vampire movies.

It slows down a lot and some characters make some of the most stupidest decisions possible, but it's still worth sticking with.

Hopefully they'll address characters making ridiculously stupid decisions in season 2.

WTF is this show?!?!?

I'm bumping this because i'm on season 1, episode 7 and I LOVE this show. Way more than the Walking Dead. imo obviously.

I'm hooked.

Pure garbage.

And yet you eat it. You cant resist it.

Much like a rat would... a rat...

...rat. Ratsky. Oooooh
