Just over a third of the way through and Fury Max is pretty great. Really brutal and heavy series focusing on Nick Fury's involvement in wars through the mid-late 20th century. This is pretty much my first exposure to Goran Parlov's art, and damn, he is fucking great.

Oh hey, its the month when everybfucking book I pull save 5 is out of continuity.

Fuck you very much DC.

Zero issues and villians month at least could set shit up for monthlies.

I like how today this thread has become WhateverGAF, and sometimes Comics.

I feel like we are a community now no?

Absolutely. I dropped all of my dc futures end tie ins this month. Not worth it. Other than Harley.

Nah, October is the month of "Pay us an extra dollar for a hologram cover you don't really want."

I know last year the standard newsstand versions of the comics were priced at $3.99 and didn't even have the hologram cover. XD

Green Arrow and Grayson were excellent issues. Sometimes if you sift through the horseshit, you find gold.

Skipped dc that month, i don't care about any of it. Maybe if something is sooooooooooo amazing that it's talked about for months i'll pick it up the next time comixology runs a 99cent sale for dc monthly things.

Today's going to end up being a no comics day. Woke up, worked a full shift, went straight to volunteering for the congressional campaign for a few hours, and now I'm home and my brain is too tired for comics. Lame.

Well I guess there's no holding back. I am here to announce my first official/unofficial comics project. "Look, he couldn't do it alone. Lebron, Kobe, Lee Harvey Oswald, these are just some of the historical figures that realized in order to accomplish great things, they needed great help. And unlike that fateful day in Dallas, there's no mystery to who is the accomplice. And in order to blow your mind, we've introduced the great price point of......[drumroll] free! That's right, all you need is an internet connection or a couple of AOL CD's to access this incredible content. Now, I know you may have some reservations to this pairing. Don't worry, you'll be RSVPing to these two soon enough. Much like my first dates, she'll be reaching for those Olive Garden breadsticks under the table for maximum pleasure. And we these two ask you to stay ofer, think of it as giving, rather than giving it up."

Neat, Clean and Friendly: A Webcomic by Rafa=Fedkilla and Kipp. Coming soon to your internet.

Hahaha. Brilliant.
I'm so looking forward to this.
Also looking forward to hearing what this webcomic is about, since Rafa has kept me in suspense as well. :P

This is great, but sweet Jesus, please use serial commas. For some reason, DC and Marvel hate serial commas, and I don't fucking know why.

I'm also a hardcore member of team Oxford/serial comma. No commas will go missing on my watch.

Also:

Goran Parlov knows his stuff. He's one of those "artist's artists". You should check out his with run with Ennis on Punisher Max, his current Starlight series with Millar, and his work on "Marvel Universe vs. The Punisher" with Jonathan Maberry.

No Doom Patrol Omni this week. Brakes were screeching and my car sounded like death itself possessed it. Had to bring it in for repairs. Not too bad, fixed the front and back axels for $370 total, but yeah...no money for comics now. Or Destiny for that matter, though I was planning on either not getting it at this point or waiting for it to be on sale. No hype left for it.

Do you really need breaks though?

wow, Rafa doesn't even tell his artist what the story is, he's already lining up a new Regular Series Artist.

cogs in a machine confirmed

I'm just happy to have gotten the gig. I know there was some heavy competition to have this privilege, so even if I'm only allowed two or three issues with Rafa, it will be one of my great life achievements.

Oof. That's some bad luck.

Don't tell me these things. Don't fill my head with these thoughts. They also recommended I get new tires cus apparently they are all kinds of fucked up but I said "naaaaaah I can wait on that shit for another month, riiiiiight?". Two weeks...Doom Patrol. JUST TWO MORE WEEKS!

I know that feel, bro.

I had to replace my brake pads and rotors last month, cost me about $320.

Been holding me back on ordering some hardcovers.

;__;

Are you reading that hardcover? Bringing it up cuz it finally came in the other week and I think they did a pretty nice job on it -- I mean, the dust jacket is what it is, but the actual book? Pretty sweet tbh

Goran Parlov is straight up one of the best comic artists working together. People forget how beast mode he is cuz my dude is always on point. Single handily making Starlight worth reading(well that and the colors)

Fury MAX is fucking fantastic.

The entire Punisher/Fury MAX epic is one of the greatest crime tales ever told

The title was inspired by a letter on a bulletin board announcing changes in the Walmart dress code "A New look for Customer Service." Had some brah and a speech bublle that read "we will look neat, clean and friendly." Instantly I just felt a unique mix of depressed, melancholy, happy and inspired as if my conscious and subconscious were working in unison. That everything in my life had led up to the moment of me reading the sign.
