You need to manually redeem each code on bungie.net.
As mentioned, certain sections of the world are instanced (those that directly drive the story forward). If you want to group up with those, you need to invite the others to your fireteam.

PS Gold Headset companion app just update to 1.1 with Destiny profile. Installed and on my head withing 30 seconds. Yes!!!
Everything apart from the Ghost, some patches and the traveler microfilm things (that he's holding up to the light).

It's not really that hard IMHO. It feels just about right on the harder settings. I personally thing the normal difficulty doesn't offer much challenge.
I did this in the Beta (played missions on hard) and you gain an extra 800 XP plus more enemies to kill = even more XP.

They are pretty damn hard, especially solo. The hard part is not running into objects. It's all doable, but it gets pretty intense if you get shot 2-3 times. Which is gonna happen often. Way too many times my health bar was red. The mission where the ghost is decrypting something and you have to protect him? That shit is hard. The purple eyes take significantly less damage to die though. Not getting shot by them is pretty easy.
Damn it I want to play again.

They toned down the story mission difficulty a good bit. The first mission on hard used to be level 5, now 3. Mission 3 is only lv. 4 used to be 6. Etc.

Wouldn't have been nice of them to mention this BEFORE advertising the upgrade.
Make sure you downloaded the content (it didn't show right at launch) and you should get it in the mail at the tower.
If everything is cool if you go to the "related items" section of the Destiny game page on ps4 you should see 3 add ons, the season pass, the vanguard armory and the collectors edition content pack. Make sure all three are downloaded and if that doesn't work try restoring licenses under Settings -> PSN

Oh my the Fusion Rifle sounds amazing powering up with the new Destiny Profile on the Golds. I keep running out of ammo just to hear it.
