Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread XV: Kübler-Ross Edition

I don't mind playing it once or twice if people really don't want to play it like that, but it's something I actively avoid if possible.

If I play with someone worse than me I normally balance the game by putting stock control on or changing it to teams and letting them have a cpu helper with team attack off, items usually stay off because with them on it just makes it even easier to win most of the time.

You might be better than me anyway, you never know.

OK, as long as you're open to once or twice you're ok in my book. I don't actually care about turning items on when playing w/ you, we can play exclusively 1v1, 2v2, no items, I just wanted to see if you'd completely write off items/ffa and refuse to try it.

I'm almost definitely not better than you, I almost exclusively play smash as a party game, because of the people i'm around. I also play Link, who is notoriously bottom tier for all but project M. I'm not the WORST smash player, but i'm not great, either.

Because it's not some piece of shit avatar, that's why.

A month or so and it's gone.

In the meantime, nobody is allowed my Isabelle or MetaKnight avatar.
Nobody was going to take them, but now that you said that, somebody will just merge the two avatars together and use that to mock you.

I remember someone saying something like this on IGN forums. The thread ended up with 20+ people wearing the same icon, including the resident mod.

No, but there's no reason to expect it since we've seen virtually every menu at this point.

There is a challenge menu, some of which may link to events.

He's a poor college student and doesn't see the ROI

I really hope it's not just modes they're going to use to sell the WiiU version. Those are all fine and good at first. But after a point it's going to gravitate to strictly just versus. It always does.

Sooooooooooo new music huh? Hmmm =/

At first I predicted music would be mon/wed/fri, but that seems to not be the case. Seems to be 'whenever he feels like it'

Hopefully stage builder makes it in, and it's good, because that would aid the versus mode.

As i've stated many times before, I'd also like to see custom events and custom target smash/board the platform. Sharable on miiverse.

Would be cool to make a challenge and send it to a friend. Maybe even bet some gold that they can't finish it.

Like, maybe you get 100 points to assign to the challenge. Each fighter is 3 points per CPU difficulty, so 1 lvl 10 CPU is 30 points, 3 is 90 pts. You can also add modifiers for points, like metal/giant/fast, which also have points. Adding items to the stage costs points. That kind of thing.

My only concern is that if there's a coin reward, that it could be exploited (figure out the easiest way to make a challenge that awards the most coins). So i'd suggest WAGERING coins (I bet you 1000 coins you can't beat this level), and if they beat it, they TAKE your 1000 coins from you, or something along those lines. Or, you can just take coins out of the equation, and just leave it for miiverse bragging.

If one of the modes is a massively improved stage builder / editor that can finally give us Battlefield versions of the FD stages and unique target tests; I could see it being a significant addition to the core gameplay.

Does OT will have a sort of beginners' guide or a for starters part?

Reading the SSB 4 threads since the announcement made me realize there is so much more than what I was expecting (and I was expecting something big... not Ridley's upcoming announcement big though
I know nothing
).

I can't wait to play this on 3DS. I will finally have the time to appreciate this game properly and being good before playing the Wii U version !

Stage Builder in that capacity is the one mode that would truly excite me and get plenty of use from me.

That's a nice idea, although the how to play section of the official site is probably your best bet

probably more useful than whatever can be crammed into an OP

Beginners' guide:

There are only two ways to play Smash Bros.

1) All items on, maximum frequency, on the craziest stages. Four players mandatory, even if the AI is playing some of them.

2) No Items. Final Destination.
Puff only.

Anything in between is wrong. Now enjoy Smash Bros!

Dunno if it's been pointed out already, but nintendo removed the 'oops' from their smash trailer two weeks ago.

Friday Leak
  • Kensho (avatar bet)

If you want to avatar bet for added fun, the rules are as follows:
  • Pick a day, japan time (right now, it's Tuesday ~11:20PM), so Tue, Wed, Thur, Fri - saturday is too late (It's out!!)
  • If the game leaks on your day, you win, and get to help in assigning avatars for everyone else.
  • If the game leaks and it's NOT your day (you choose Tue, it leaks Thur), then AS SOON AS IT LEAKS (not sooner, so if you choose tue, and it leaks thur, you don't lose until it leaks on thur), you lose your avatar.
  • If the game DOES NOT LEAK (releases sat) nobody wins or loses.
  • You wear the new avatar until ONE WEEK FROM THE LEAK DAY.

Reposting for the morning!

As long as stage builders allow more than just blocks in space it should be an improvement.

I'm hoping for themes, similar to what final destination mode does. Lets you choose your background, and then you create the building blocks using that stage's tileset. I mean... the groundwork is kinda there for final destination mode... so why not extend that to the players?

Custom challenges with coins would be interesting. Though it would depend on how they offered them as you said. Since it would be pretty easy to abuse in certain instances.

I did a little thing.

I tried to take in consideration every possible spelling (Sheik, Shiek, ROB, R.O.B.), while characters with similar names (Mario, Dr. Mario, etc.) are separated. Data taken only from this thread a couple of hours ago.

One is not like the other.
